Purpose. To estimate the parameters of infestation of Helix aspersa by nematodes, experimentally identify the optimal concentration of anti-helminthic drugs and assess their effectiveness. Methodology. The experimental work on the development of therapeutic measures against nematodes of Helix aspersa (Müller) lasted for 15 days. The results of the experiments were evaluated by the following indicators: extensiveness and intensity of parasite infestation; survival of mollusks,%. Feeding activity was assessed by the relative amount of feed the mollusks ate per day. At the beginning of the experiments, histological examinations of mollusk tissues were performed. Selected samples were preserved in 4% formalin solution and then histological sections were made, which were than frozen with subsequent staining with hematoxylin-eosin. Histological analysis was performed using a light microscope at 8x and 40x magnification and a Sciencelab T500 5.17 M photographic digital camera. Assessment of changes in the histostructure was performed visually and using morformetric analysis on mollusk intestine samples. Two variants of the experiment with albendanzole (variant № 2 and 3) and control were evaluated. Findings. According to the results of the experiments, the best indicators of the anthelmintic effect and survival of snails were obtained using albendazole added to compound feed at a concentration of 0.02% of the live weight of mollusks. At this concentration, complete destruction of mature individuals of Alloionema appendiculatum was noted, as well as a decrease in the infection of snails with helminth eggs from 100% to 10%. The study of the histostructure of tissues and organs of mollusks showed that the use of albendazole at concentrations of 0.01% and 0.02% did not cause noticeable pathological changes in the muscles and brain of mollusks. However, certain structural abnormalities were observed in the cells of the intestinal and liver epithelium, which were detected as vacuolization of the cytoplasm, destruction of cell membranes, lysis and pycnosis of nuclei. The relative number of such cells with the pathology was about 10-15% when using 0.01% albendazole, and increased to 30-50% when using albendazole at a concentration of 0.02% of the live weight of snails. No noticeable anthelmintic effect was found when using trematozole. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the therapeutic effect and the optimal scheme of deworming of mollusks Helix aspersa infected with the parasitic nematode Alloionema appendiculatum were determined experimentally. Practical significance. The obtained results are of interest to enterprises engaged in snail farming. Key words: mollusk Helix aspersa Muller, nematodosis, extensiveness and intensity of invasion, anthelmintic drugs, morpho-histological parameters.

The purpose of the research is studying the efficacy of Eprimek (Eprinomectin) against gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep.Materials and methods. A commercial experiment to study the antiparasitic efficacy of Eprimek was carried out in June 2020 on 300 lambs of the North Caucasian breed in a private flock of Filimonovskaya Village, Izobilnensky District, the Stavropol Territory, which were divided into two groups. The experimental group of lambs (290 animals) was injected Eprimek subcutaneously at the earset at a dose of 1 ml/50 kg of live weight (10 mg of Eprinomectin in 1 ml), and 10 lambs were not treated; they were used as control. We collected feces from the lambs of the experimental and control groups before administration of the drugs and after 15 and 30 days. Fecal samples were examined by the flotation technique with a saturated solution of ammonium nitrate with counting nematode eggs in 1 g of feces. The results were processed statistically. Results and discussion. Eprimek showed a decrease in the number of excreted helminth eggs from 225.1±28.2 to 4.1±2.3 in production environment at a dose of 1 ml/50 kg of live weight, according to coprological studies on the 15th day after treatment in the experimental group of lambs. The efficacy was 98.2%, and 70% of the animals were free from the infection. The intensity of infection of the control lambs by gastrointestinal nematodes was 131–151 eggs per 1 g of feces at 100% prevalence.

The strawberry blossom weevil (SBW), Anthonomus rubi, is a well-documented pest of strawberry. Recently, in strawberry fields of Trento Province (north-east Italy), new noteworthy damage on fruit linked to SBW adults was observed, combined with a prolonged adult activity until the autumn. In this new scenario, we re-investigated SBW biology, ecology, monitoring tools, and potential control methods to develop Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. Several trials were conducted on strawberry in the laboratory, field and semi-natural habitats. The feeding activity of adult SBW results in small deep holes on berries at different stages, causing yield losses of up to 60%. We observed a prolonged survival of newly emerged adults (>240 days) along with their ability to sever flower buds without laying eggs inside them in the same year (one generation per year). SBW adults were present in the strawberry field year-round, with movement between crop and no crop habitats, underlying a potential role of other host/feeding plants to support its populations. Yellow sticky traps combined with synthetic attractants proved promising for both adult monitoring and mass trapping. Regarding control, adhesive tapes and mass trapping using green bucket pheromone traps gave unsatisfactory results, while the high temperatures provided by the black fabric, the periodic removal of severed buds or adults and Chlorpyrifos-methyl application constrained population build-up. The findings are important for the development of an IPM strategy.

Reducing the energy consumption of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems while ensuring users’ comfort is of both academic and practical significance. However, the-state-of-the-art of the optimization model of the HVAC system is that either the thermal dynamic model is simplified as a linear model, or the optimization model of the HVAC system is single-timescale, which leads to heavy computation burden. To balance the practicality and the overhead of computation, in this paper, a multi-timescale bilinear model of HVAC systems is proposed. To guarantee the consistency of models in different timescales, the fast timescale model is built first with a bilinear form, and then the slow timescale model is induced from the fast one, specifically, with a bilinear-like form. After a simplified replacement made for the bilinear-like part, this problem can be solved by a convexification method. Extensive numerical experiments have been conducted to validate the effectiveness of this model.

AbstractWhen compared with other menadione derivatives such as menadione sodium bisulphite (MSB), menadione nicotinamide bisulphite (MNB), an organic salt combining menadione and nicotinamide, shows better stability towards physical and chemical factors once it is added to pre-mixes or foods. The present work evaluates the bioavailability of the two vitamins present in this compound and toxicity in the pig. To assess vitamin bioavailability, pigs were given small amounts of food containing MNB or equivalent amounts of MSB and nicotinamide in the free form. Menadione and nicotinamide concentrations in blood samples drawn at set times after the diets were given did not reveal any significant differences between the two modes of administration. Haematic levels of both vitamins in animals receiving MNB, or MSB and nicotinamide, were after 2, 4, 8 and 12 h higher (P < 0·001) than those of untreated animals. The tolerance level to MNB was evaluated in pigs given diets containing graded amounts of MNB (100, 500, 2500 mg/kg) for 28 days. No significant (P > 0·05) differences were recorded in live weight, food intake and gain/food ratio in pigs given these diets when compared with those given an unsupplemented diet. Haemoglobin and bilirubin levels did not differ between animals given various amounts of MNB and control animals. Plasma aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activities in pigs given 100 mg/kg of MNB did not show significant differences when compared with those observed in pigs given an unsupplemented control diet. In pigs on the diets supplemented with 500 and 2500 mg/kg of MNB there was a significant increase in the two enzymatic activities as compared with controls (P < 0·001 and P < 0·01). In the case of ALT this had disappeared by 28 weeks. MNB is a good source of vitamin K for the pig and does not appear to have any adverse effects, even when administered at levels higher than those normally used in pig food supplementation.

The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that in order to improve the legislation of the country, it is necessary to study the successful experience of other countries. The purpose of the study is to propose a number of measures that will help improve labour legislation in Kazakhstan. The work uses primarily the analytical method. It is determined by the fact that apart from statutory labour protection rules, some safety standards are contained in collective agreements that speci-fy and sometimes supplement relevant legislative provisions. The paper states the fact that it is necessary to factor in world experience in organizing and operating a system of supervision and control over compliance with labour legislation for the Republic of Kazakhstan. The novelty of the study is that with a study of the legislation on labour regulation in Western countries, the authors identify a number of measures that will be relevant for implementation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The practical significance of the study is determined by the incompatibility of iso-lation from the outside world, including from the international labour market with objectives of development.

The article presents the results of experiment on testing a prolonged form of the Iverlong drug against gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep. The work was carried out on 30 lambs. The lambs of the first group were subcutaneously injected with the Iverlong preparation at a dose of 1 ml/50 kg of live weight (in 1 ml of 50 mg of Ivermectin plus PLGA prolongator), the lambs of the second group were treated with the same preparation, but at a dose of 0.5 ml/50 kg of live weight. The lambs of the third group served as a control, which were subcutaneously injected with the well-known Ivomek drug in the recommended dose (1 ml/50 kg of live weight). The effectiveness from the prolonged form of Iverlong in 2 doses against nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract was taken into account by means of coprological studies before drug administration and every 15 days for three months. According to the results of coprological studies, it was found that the Iverlong drug in a dose of 1ml/50 kg of the animal’s live weight showed a high prolonged anthelmintic effect and for 60 days protected animals from infection by nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract.
