PROJECT BASED LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SURAKARTAAbstractProject-based learning needs to be implemented in junior high schools because by applying this model it will enhance student creativity. Project-based learning is a learning model that makes students active and innovative, completing a project in a certain period. This study aims to analyze the learning process at the junior high school in several schools in Surakarta to implement project-based learning. The design of this study is qualitative descriptive. Data analysis using Milles Huberman by observation, in-depth interviews, and student cognitive achievement. The results show that the learning that has been done in several Junior High School in Surakarta has not used project-based learning. This lack of using Project-Based learning is because the teacher has no direction or is still limited to learning using the Project-Based Learning model, so the teacher prefers to teach with lecture and discussion methods in the classroom. Even though in the 2013 curriculum, the application of a student-centered learning model is highly recommended. The researcher hopes that the results of this study will help design a curriculum that uses a project-based learning model.

ABSTRACT  This purpose of this study is three. First, describing the procedure of writing text for students of class VII in Junior High School 20 Padang before using the project based learning model assisted by the media of serial images. Secondly, describing the procedure of writing text for students of class VII in Junior High School 20 Padang after using the project based learning model assisted by the media of serial images. Third, analyzing the effect of the use of project based learning models assisted by the media of serial images on the skills of writing procedure text for students of class VII in Junior High School 20 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with one group pretest and posttest design experimental methods. There are three results of this study. First, the procedure of writing text in the seventh grade of Junior High School 20 Padang before using the project based learning model assisted by the media of serial images is of sufficient qualification (C) with an average value of 62,76. Second, the procedure of writing text in the seventh grade of Junior High School 20 Padang after using the project based learning model assisted by the media of serial images is of good qualification (B) with an average grade of 78,52. Third, based on the t-test, H1 is accepted at the 95% confidence level and dk = (n-1) because tcount>ttable (6,25>1,82).  Kata Kunci:  Pengaruh, Model Project Based Learning, Media Gambar Berseri, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Prosedur

This research aimed to (1) analyzes the effect of model project-based learning approach STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) on natural science learning to junior high school student’s critical thinking skills and cooperative skills, and (2) analyze how the effect of model project-based learning on STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) on natural science learning to junior high school student’s critical thinking skills and cooperative skills. This research was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The population was eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Berbah. Sampling selection technique used cluster random sampling techniques and obtained class VIII B as an experimental class and class VIII C as a control class. Learning in the experimental class project-based learning model was STEM-oriented, and the control class used a scientific approach. The data were pretest and posttest critical thinking, observation sheets of cooperative. The analysis used the normality test, homogeneity test, MANOVA test, and effect size. The results showed that: (1) there was an effect of project-based learning model on STEM approach on critical thinking skills and cooperative skills of students of SMP Negeri 1 Berbah, (2) the effect of science learning project-based learning model on STEM approach on critical thinking and collaborative skill was on medium category.

Abstract (Conducting Project Based Learning in Statistics of 8th Grade Junior High School Students)This article is a literature study which aims to describe the Project-Based Learning Model that is applied in statistical material for students of grade VIII of junior high school. In this article also presents a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) as an alternative in the implementation of learning. Based on the review of literature from relevant research, it was found that the ability and statistical statistics of junior and senior high schools were still in the low category. This happens because very much the text by the learning model is applied. In the learning, project, development, development and development models. The end result of the work can be in the form of reports and presentations. Arrange the work done from the project planning, implementation and final project. Therefore, project-based learning models can be used as an alternative in learning.
