The adoption of adequate technologies is essential to improve the performance of different kinds of companies. Although there is literature related to the adoption of technology in dairy agribusiness in developed countries, information about it is scarce in developing countries. The objective of this study was to explore the factors associated with the adoption of technology by dairy agribusiness. A structural analysis was conducted to evaluate the relationships between the internal variables of Antioquia province farms, Colombia, and their technology adoption process. This process was explained by two factors: production-related variables and management-dependent traits. The variables resulting in the greatest impact were pasture improvement, genetics, administration, and technical procedures.

The main advantage of cloud computing is to reduce the IT cost. By using cloud computing, organisations do not have to set up an IT infrastructure, and instead are able to rent resources and give payment only for the using services. Even with the appealing of cloud computing benefits, it is still in infancy in developing countries due to many reasons. Technology adoption has been explored to a limited degree in developing countries, particularly in relation to cloud computing in the tertiary education sector. Existing studies have examined technology adoption in developed countries and to a lesser extent in developing countries in non-education contexts such as e-government. This paper contributes to the cloud computing adoption literature in developing countries, and specifically in Saudi Arabian universities.

This article describes how although the internet has become a significant platform for the advancement of marketing strategies and developments, there have been inadequate empirical research efforts concerning its adoption for conducting internet marketing in developing countries, specifically in the Middle East area, and more particularly in Iran. Previous studies investigated internet marketing adoption and acceptance extensively, by employing different theories of new technology adoption in developed countries, while there have been inadequate empirical research efforts concerning its adoption in developing countries. It is widely recognised that the adoption of internet marketing can offer substantial opportunities for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). In developing countries, internet marketing opportunities can be a meaningful approach for SMEs to be able to compete with large businesses and to access, with lowest possible costs, targeted customers.

Increasingly, marketers rely on advances in technology to maintain competitive parity or gain competitive advantage. Yet, often, the adoption of technology is met with suboptimal results and even outright failure. Qualitative field research based on depth interviews with business managers responsible for technology adoption decisions within their respective firms is used to develop a theoretical framework explaining the technology adoption process within firms, how expectations are formed for the innovation’s performance and factors that can further influence those perceptions. Result suggest a firm’s dynamic capabilities play a central role in informing the firm’s perceptions of a technological innovation’s characteristics that drive the adoption decision. Findings also suggest that a firm’s expectations are influenced by perception of risk, internal micro-political actions, and the opportunity to observe or trial use of the technological innovation.

In the present scenario, gastritis still remains a major public health problem that affects the population of both the developed as well as developing countries. More than 50% of the population in developing countries suffers from gastritis, whereas 34.7 % of the population in developed countries had health problems due to gastritis. Main causes of gastritis are infections, stress, continuous use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, alcohol and bile reflux. Gastritis if remains untreated or undiagnosed causes Quruh-i Meda (gastric ulcers). Prolonged and progressive inflammation results in destruction of gastric mucosa (Atrophic gastritis) and reduction in gastric acid secretions. These two factors are considered as the main risk factors in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer. Unani physicians have given much importance to this disease. In Unani system of medicine, there is elaborated description of gastritis under the heading of Waram-i Meda with causes, symptoms and its effective management. The fundamental principles of Unani treatment of gastritis is to restore the normalcy of the patient, correction of temperament (Mizaj ), humoral balance in the organ and the body, and toning up of the stomach. All these principles are achieved mostly by three modes of treatment i.e. Iaj bil Tadbeer (Regimenal therapy), Ilaj bil Ghiza (Dietotherapy) and Ilaj bil Dawa (Pharmacotherapy). In this review article, Waram-i Meda (gastritis) is elaborated with its type, causes and treatment in Unani perspective with the objective to reduce the burden of gastritis and prevention of complications associated with gastritis.

Adoption of technology by the Indians is setting an example for the others. Considering the penetration of mobile phones and its usage success stories all over the world, a good number of companies are exploring new uses of mobile technology. Many companies have come up with a new use of mobile technology, mobile wallets. This research article has been undertaken to understand the previous research work on the adoption of mobile technology in the developed countries and the factors that are influential to understand the reasons for such adoption. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model has been taken as a base for understanding the adoption by Indian consumers and two factors namely – Trust in mobile wallet services and trust in mobile wallet service providers have been examined for their impact on its adoption. A survey was conducted across Delhi NCR to examine attitude of Indian consumers for mobile wallets adoption.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine lean critical success factors for manufacturing organisations in developing countries.Research methodology This paper is based on an extensive literature review of factors that influence the lean adoption process in developed countries and mapping these factors with lean current issues in developing countries to draw up successful factors suitable for developing countriesFindings The results of the literature review revealed several factors that influence the process of adopting lean manufacturing in developing countries, including the organisational infrastructure, trade agreements, political and economic environments, ability and willingness to change organisational structure and culture and, top management support and commitment.Limitations The recommended lean key factors are a conceptual-based model. An empirical based study is needed to provide practical evidence about the validity of that model

Technology adoption by farmers is an important factor in agricultural development in both developing and developed countries that has not been achieved over the past years. The level of technology adoption is highly dependent on farmers’ beliefs and attitudes. Therefore, adoption studies are important to identify beliefs and attitudes of farmers that affect decision making. The present study tries to explain and identify the effect of motivation on farmers’ behavior to acquire knowledge and what are their beliefs and motives that underlie adoption of technology. The theory of planned behavior provides a structure to identify farmers’ behavioral intention with respect to attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. The Self Determination Theory provides an explanatory system for the understanding of the motivation behind volitional behavior. These two theories serve as the key methodology for the study. The results revealed that, farmers’ participation in technology dissemination programmes and their willingness to gain information and skills have a significant relationship with intrinsic motivation. Further, those farmers hold positive beliefs towards new technology adoption and innovations. Therefore, two types of extension approaches are needed to enhance the technology adoption for intrinsically motivated and extrinsically motivated farmers.

This study responds to the disruptive environment in which educational institutions globally find themselves in the COVID-19 lockdown, where remote-based teaching was adapted to ensure continuous learning. Globally, over 90% of learners are affected by the closure of learning institutions. The study evaluates the digital transformation necessitated by the COVID-19 lockdown through the perception of faculty. Despite the rapid technological developments and high adoption of technology-mediated tools in most developed countries, developing countries lag. E-learning adoption has remained low in most developing countries, and this study aims to investigate the acceptance of Moodle at a rural university in Zimbabwe. This quantitative study utilised the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model to explore how the institution used the COVID-19 pandemic as a springboard to accelerate the adoption of virtual learning systems. Very few studies have been conducted to evaluate Moodle acceptance in a developing country context using the UTAUT model during a pandemic such as the COVID-19.  An online questionnaire was distributed to 200 faculty members. The results revealed that performance and effort expectancy and the facilitating conditions positively influenced the behavioural intention to use Moodle. However, in contrast, social influence did not positively influence the actual usage of Moodle. Educationists and technologists can use the results of the study to improve e-learning deployment in developing countries. The study also builds on ongoing research on e-learning implementation and evaluation using the UTAUT model. Future studies should be conducted across several institutions and involve students to come up with more generalisable results.

International business (IB) and management information system (MIS) literature have focused respectively on the adoption process in multinational corporations (MNCs) and on the adoption of technology in organisations. This paper investigates the process of technology adoption in MNCs and draws on the actor–network theory (ANT) in order to understand the process of technology adoption in MNCs. A case study of a French-owned subsidiary in Brazil is utilised for the conclusions. First, through data analysis, it is discovered that people established connections that differ in being either beneficial or detrimental to technology adoption. Next, it is proposed that the decision to adopt is constantly being renegotiated, whereas previous research assumes a single adoption choice for individuals and organisations. Finally, this paper shows how boundary objects may help MNCs to cope with the conflicting pressures of global integration and national responsiveness.
