This article summarizes numerous studies on the relationship of biological processes such as inflammation and thrombosis. The huge role of neutrophils and the extracellular neutrophil traps (NETs) secreted by them has been demonstrated. The discovery of NETs has opened new horizons in the understanding of neutrophil biology and the role of these cells in the body. The use of chromatin in combination with the intracellular proteins, as an effective antimicrobial agent has ancient roots and changes our understanding of chromatin only as a carrier of genetic information. Through NETs, neutrophils can contribute to the development of pathological venous and arterial thrombosis or immunothrombosis, as well as atherosclerosis. NETs release has been shown to be one of the causes of thrombosis in conditions such as sepsis and cancer. The presence of NETs in these diseases and conditions makes it possible to use them or individual components as potential biomarkers. NETs and their components may be attractive as therapeutic targets. Further studies of neutrophils and NETs are needed to develop new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory and thrombotic conditions. Perhaps long-forgotten drugs will find a new area for effective use.

Abstract The following research article examines the relationship between felt-bodily experiences and personal identity, and whether the former can be considered the basis for the latter. The first part of the article deals with the relationship of these two concepts within Locke's view of personal identity in order to justify the question. Therefore, the role of the body in the conception of man and in personal identity is revised. Then the idea of personal identity in relation to pain experience is questioned. The second part deals with the neo-phenomenological anthropology of Hermann Schmitz, which is based on the thesis: “without felt-body no person”. Next, the dynamics between attitude and composure as the basic structure of the personal situation identity is revealed, which can be assumed as an answer to the question of personal identity. Finally, a brief conclusion is given. Key words: Personal identity, body, felt-body, felt-body dynamics, personal situation. Palavras-chave: Identidade pessoal, corpo, próprio-corpo, dinâmica do próprio-corpo, situação pessoal.

The article is an attempt to critically evaluate the manifestations of the philosophical culture sprouting in Rus’. With the baptism in the Byzantine Rite, Rus’ in the 10th century joined the family of Christian nations and defined the future direction of her own cultural development. The Middle Ages in Rus’ were eminently theocentric. Literature (which was mostly translated from the Greek in Bulgarian monasteries) had a religious character. Sacral content, assimilated in Rus’ mainly through the Old Church Slavonic (due to the scarce knowledge of Greek) had a decisive influence on formation of the philosophical worldview of Rus’ intellectual elite. The Bible thus became the main reference framework for the first Rus’ thinkers-philosophers: Ilarion of Kiev († 1055), Kirill of Turov († 1183) and Kliment Smolatič († 1164). Ilarion of Kiev, the first metropolitan of the Kievan Rus’ in his rhetoric work (which postulated the superiority of the New Testament to the Old) expressed a philosophical thesis of the equality of all Christian nations before God. Kliment Smolatič, the second metropolitan of Rus’, in his Letter to Presbyter Foma, defended the allegorical method of interpretating the Bible. Kirill of Turov, in his turn, in his Parable of the human soul and body allegorically tried to answer the question about the relationship of the body and the soul. For the Rus’ thinkers the content of the Bible served as a pretext for philosophical reflection, e.g. on the role of man in the universe, on the nature of reality, on the relation between matter and spirit. In their works we find the beginnings of the theory of knowledge, metaphysics, ethics, and aesthetics.

This article suggests that the role of residential schools and the relationship of residential and local school programs should be reformed. If residential schools become resource and demonstration centers, they can provide for the more effective use of resources available in residential schools and increase the success of mainstreamed students with visual impairments in local schools.

Magnesium has been shown to play an important role in the body. In the critical care setting of particular concern is the role of Mg++ in the treatment of malignant tachydysrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. Research is being conducted to determine appropriate methods of assessing Mg++ status, the relationship of altered Mg++ states to clinical manifestations, and the treatment of the abnormalities associated with Mg++ deficiency. Safe and effective forms of parenteral and oral Mg++ supplements are currently available.

Previous studies anticipated that there is need of justice in educational institutions in order to protect the academicians’ psychological as well as emotional needs under teaching profession. Therefore, the purpose of current study is to examine the moderating role of organizational justice between the relationship of emotional exhaustion and job-related outcomes (Teachers’ Learning, Organizational Commitment, and Organizational loyalty). In order to accomplish this purpose, the survey questionnaire method was used. The study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional in nature. 250 respondents were selected by applying simple random sampling. Results indicated that emotional exhaustion is significantly and negatively related to teachers’ learning and loyalty. Meanwhile, findings divulged the negative association between emotional exhaustion and teachers’ commitment. Moreover, results also enlightened that organizational justice (distributed justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice) significantly moderate on the relationship of emotional exhaustion and job-related outcomes (Teachers’ Learning, Organizational Commitment, and Organizational loyalty). This study enriches the body of knowledge regarding the moderating role of organizational justice as previous studies almost ignored it. It also gives insight understanding regarding the role of teachers’ emotional exhaustion towards their learning, loyalty, and commitment. Additionally, On the basis of these finding, organizations can make their employees more committed and loyal by reforming policies about organizational justice.

In this chapter, the authors discuss the use of digital media in the creation of digital art, questioning the evolution of the relationship between technology and concept in communication through art. The intersection of new media and digital art have been opening interesting and seductive new horizons and in parallel, the concept, the understanding, the legitimacy of artistic creation, the role of the artist and the role of the spectator are also redefined. Based on two experimental works of the artist Henrique Silva, the authors analyze and reflect on the relationship of technology, art and virtuality, focusing on concepts like experience, sensory, immersion, communication and interaction in artworks created through digital media.

People come in contact with a huge number of nanoparticles (NPs) throughout their lives, which can be of both natural and anthropogenic origin and are capable of entering the body through swallowing, skin penetration, or inhalation. In connection with the expanding use of nanomaterials in various industrial processes, the question of whether there is a need to study the potentially adverse effects of NPs on human health becomes increasingly important. Despite the fact that the nature and the extent of damage caused depends on the chemical and the physical characteristics of individual NPs, there are also general mechanisms related to their toxicity. These mechanisms include the ability of NPs to translocate to various organs through endocytosis, as well as their ability to stimulate the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative stress, inflammation, genotoxicity, metabolic changes, and potentially carcinogenesis. In this review, we discuss the main characteristics of NPs and the effects they cause at both cellular and tissue levels. We also focus on possible mechanisms that underlie the relationship of NPs with carcinogenesis. We briefly summarize the main concepts related to the role of endogenous mineral organic NPs in the development of various human diseases and their participation in extra-bone calcification. Considering data from both our studies and those published in scientific literature, we propose the revision of some ideas concerning extra-bone calcification, since it may be one of the factors associated with the initiation of the mechanisms of immunological tolerance.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.

This essay examines a polemic between two Baudelaire critics of the 1930s, Jean Cassou and Benjamin Fondane, which centered on the relationship of poetry to progressive politics and metaphysics. I argue that a return to Baudelaire's poetry can yield insight into what seems like an impasse in Cassou and Fondane. Baudelaire provides the possibility of realigning metaphysics and politics so that poetry has the potential to become the space in which we can begin to think the two of them together, as opposed to seeing them in unresolvable tension. Or rather, the tension that Baudelaire animates between the two allows us a new way of thinking about the role of esthetics in moments of political crisis. We can in some ways see Baudelaire as responding, avant la lettre, to two of his early twentieth-century readers who correctly perceived his work as the space that breathes a new urgency into the questions of how modern poetry relates to the world from which it springs and in which it intervenes.
