This paper is aimed at the complex investigation of the communication and its ontological basis in Theodore Metochites’ (1270–1332) Memorable Notes (Semeioseis gnomikai). In the Memorable Notes Metochites oriented himself toward those authors who, like Plutarch, tried to discuss everything, including history, culture, and the being in general, in a philosophical manner. The speechlessness as the subject matter of Ch. 1 and 9 is compensated, according to Theodore, with a creative liberty and the possibility to discuss every topic, which is inherent to everybody, but, first and foremost, members of the intellectual elite. The conflict of these two ideas, i. e., of the speechlessness and of the liberty to think and speak, forms the antinomy of communication, being of importance for Theodore’s thought. Similar opinions of late medieval authors seemed to pave the way for Kant’s third antinomy. Moreover, the theme of the lack of something new to discuss and talk over continued the Aristotelian topics. Finally, in Metochites’ thought, the life of a human being, like those of society and cosmos as a whole, passes through the same stages as a person’s utterance: the cosmos history in its dynamics reminds speech or, more specifically, conversation or dialogue. This intertwinement of Aristotle’s ideas from De interpretatione with those from St. John’s Gospel prologue is a hallmark of that Byzantine-Christian Hellenism which was discussed in Antonio Garzya’s seminal paper of 1985. Besides, Theodore also discussed the unity of the notion of number among all the people. It means that it is the mathematical knowledge which can get a basis for a “conciliarity”, or “all-unity”, at least for the thinking part of the humankind. It is particularly important since the ultimate goal of communication is, therefore, a revealing of the ontological truth of things and events.

In human culture, since ancient times, fiction has developed as a mirror of time. Therefore, a dual understanding of time is reflected in the poetics of the work: firstly, it is the time that is connected with the narrative and is developed in the plot of the work (artistic time), and secondly, it is the time, the epoch of writing the work itself (historical time). The artistic image of the time is reflected not only in historical genres, but also in all other genres and styles of literature. The historical era of writing a work can be captured in the thoughts and worldview of the characters, in the conflict being developed, the subject matter and the problems involved. The relevance of the study is related to the fact that the tragic periods of history depicted in the work must be analyzed through the worldview and moral standarts of the people. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to identify the philosophical and aesthetic connection between the artistic time continuum and the historical epoch. The subject of the research in this article is the novelette of the literary scholar and prose writer Georgy Fedorov “Ai, mantaran hir mulkaci” ("Oh, poor hare »). In the course of the study, the following results were obtained: in an artistic and philosophical work, the category of time becomes both a method of deepening the character's personality, and an indicator of the figurative model of the world, and the subject of research.

Göç Dergisi yayın hayatındaki üç sayıyı geride bırakıyor ve bizler bu mutluluğu sizlerle paylaşmanın ve yeni sayımızı takdim etmenin heyecanı içerisindeyiz.Dünyanın hemen her yerinde gittikçe artan insan hareketliliği akademyada göç araştırmaları alanında yapılan bilimsel aktivitelerin sayısını hızlıca çoğaltıyor. Ancak uzun bir süredir Suriye’yi bir yaşam mekânı olmaktan çıkaran çatışma ortamı, kriz öncesinde burada yaşayan insanların pek çoğunu ülkelerini terk etmek zorunda bırakıyor. Bu süreçte başka ülkelere, daha iyi yaşam koşullarına ve alanlarına sahip olabilme arzusuyla durmadan yer değiştiren Suriyelilerin kimi zaman Akdeniz ve Orta Doğu bölgesi ile Avrupa’da dramatik bir şekilde sonlanan yolculuk ve yaşam mücadelesi deneyimlerine tanık oluyoruz.[1] ENGLISH ABSTRACTEditorial: Introduction to a new issueGöç Dergisi has completed the first three issues and we are very proud of presenting the new issue to our readers. Almost everywhere around the world, there is an increasing human mobility which encourages and increases the interest and number of studies in academia on the subject matter. However, for a long while, the conflict which made Syria uninhabitable drives the people out of their homes. In this process, we are witnessing some Syrians who hope for better living conditions willing to move to other countries face tragic ends in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or European countries. Keywords: migration; migrant; asylum seeker; refugee; Syria; Turkey[1] Bu konuda kapsamlı bir özel sayı Migration Letters dergisinin Eylül 2015 sayısında yayınlandı. I'm sure that I speak for the three of us who were lucky enough to attend this year's IALL conference when I say that it was one of the most intense, interesting and enjoyable of experiences. Intense because of the nature of the subject matter of the conference, interesting because it was a country which none of us had visited before and enjoyable because of the people, the social events and the weather.

THIS PAPER ARGUES that the call to teach ought to be conceptualized not so much in terms of subject matter (‘what’) or teaching method (‘how’) but with respect to the subjectivity of the people involved – that is, of the one who teaches and of the one who is taught. Building explicitly on the work of Emmanuel Levinas, the essay develops the idea of a responsible subject as the condition that makes visible the distinctiveness about the call to teach, suggesting that God's call to teach manifests itself through the face of the student, in the asymmetric relation between the teacher and the student as the other. In doing so, the teacher becomes a responsible subject for and to the student, instead of merely for the subject matter and the methods of teaching. Familiar tensions in teaching illustrate this call to responsibility.

This research presents one of many possibilities of how to check and repeat knowledge at the end of the school year and at the same time provide an answer to questions often asked by students who are disinterested in learning mathematics: "Where will we need it?" or "Why do we learn this?" To provide them with an answer and motivate them at the same time, this research focused on actively encouraging students to find the answers themselves and thus find the importance of learning mathematics. With a changed way of repeating and consolidating the material at the end of the school year, the aim of this research is to reduce the fear of mathematics and increase the motivation of students in the following year. Students, divided into groups, choose the topic or examples of the use of mathematical knowledge of the first year of secondary technical and professional education in everyday life, and thus shape the learning situation (LS). The goal of preparing the LS is for students to make sense of the subject matter with examples from everyday life. For the selected LS, they prepare a short story with tasks that they solve by calculation, prepare presentations and also, present the LS to the classmates. During the formation of the LS and the preparation of presentations, students are active (active learning methods: task search, knowledge of the subject matter, interviews, problem solving, use of mathematical applications, teamwork, problem solving…) and cooperate with each other. They are constantly developing more 21st century competencies (self-regulation, collaboration, problem solving) and digital competencies. With the formation of the LS, the world of mathematical knowledge gets a little closer to students, they lose their fear of mathematics and become more motivated. Keywords: learning situations, collaborative work, active learning methods, mathematics in everyday life, deviation from the established

Tafseer is a way of understanding the Qur'an. Its existence becomes anecessity because the verses contained in the Qur'an are general, so it is noteasy to understand. However, while interpretation is the only way tounderstand the Qur'an, it does not mean that it is free from perversion. Thisdeviation can result in an increasingly distant person from understanding thetrue meaning of the Quran. Therefore, various factors causing deviations inthe interpretation need to be detected and then eliminated so that deviationsfrom the interpretation of the Quran can be avoided. Some of the factorscausing irregularities in the commentary are the subjectivity of the exegete, the error in setting the method or rule, superficiality in the sciences, thesuperficial knowledge of the subject matter (speech) verse, regardless of thecontext, and not paying attention to who the speaker is and to whom thespeaker is addressed. Besides the disguise because the distance between theprophet and the people who are far enough, the material factors, and thefactors of history to participate in supporting the irregularities in the tafseer. Keywords: Irregularities, Tafseer, Quran

Medieval canon law has generally had a bad press. Its professionalization in the period c. 1140 to 1234 can easily be caricatured as the emergence of a rigid, centralized, and authoritarian system which paid small heed to the needs of the people it was supposed to serve. This conclusion is readily sustained by perusal of theLiber Extra, the GregorianDecretalesof 1234, which enshrined the legal developments of the period, from about 1140, which followed the establishment of Gratian’sDecretumas the principal authority for the teaching and practice of canon law. The genesis of theLiber Extrais well known. Pope Gregory IX commissioned Raymond of Peñafort to compile an authoritative collection of papal decretals and conciliar legislation to supplement Gratian’sDecretum, and it drew, principally but not exclusively, on the so-calledQuinqe compilationes antiquewhich had been compiled for teaching purposes in Bologna between c. 1189–91 and 1226.’ And when the work was completed, it was authorized by the bullRex pacificus, which ordered that ‘everyone should useonlythis compilation in judgements and in the schools (ut hactantumcompilatione universi utantur in iudiciis et in scholis); and a copy was duly dispatched to the canon law school in Bologna. The image of centralized, authoritarian lawmaking could not be clearer; and that perception is reinforced by an examination of its structure, where the individual extracts are organized systematically under Titles, which define the subject matter. Such a compilation, like theQuinque compilationesthemselves, was the result of an analytical method, which totally obscured the processes of consultation which had preceded many of the decisions, as well as depriving them, in many cases, of their historical context in terms of the identity of the pope, the recipient, the litigants, and the local circumstances. What emerged was a disembodied code, shorn of the nuances and hesitations which had characterized the decisions which it enshrined.
