The aim of the article is to discuss the recognition by archivists and archival institutions of the cultural aspect as an important tool for the preservation of documents. It is based on studies about historical and cultural heritage, whose paradigms comprise the Archives as places of memory. It highlights the inclusion of public and private Archives among the cultural areas benefited by the law for cultural promotion, provided these institutions do not restrict access to the public. We also stress the relevance of this integration for the development of cultural projects aimed at preserving documents, as well as raising the necessary resources for their implementation. We point out the relationship between the Archives and Culture established in theoretical references in this field. This study is guided by the polysemous character of the concept of “culture” due its numerous appropriations and applications. We also present the concepts of public policies and cultural projects and conclude that the inclusion of this subject in the curricula of the courses in Archive Administration in Brazil can disseminate tax legislation and ways to raise funds to support Brazilian culture, promote heritage education within the universities and institutions, and contribute to the archiving practice by acknowledging the importance of Archives to culture.

This article aims to analyze the process that gave rise to the Innovative Higher Education Program (ProEMI) as a way of understanding the actions taken by public and private actors in the construction of a new project for secondary education in Brazil. The analysis seeks to understand the cognitive and normative framework that gave rise to and legitimized this educational policy, considering that policy is the result of a process of interaction and relations of force. ProEMI is a policy that seeks to transform the public action of managers, teachers, and students in the country's high schools. The study examines the period 2003-2016 and was developed in the cognitive theoretical perspective of public policies, a perspective focused on understanding the formulation and implementation of public policies based on the relationship between politics and the construction of social order and not just as a troubleshooting mechanism. We find that ProEMI originates from the public actions of a number of actors that construct and accept a matrix of interpretation, resulting in the emergence and legitimization of the choice of a public policy that calls for a counterhegemonic high school.

This article discusses the relationship between a consumer lifestyle and the environment. The willingness to adapt to a sustainable lifestyle was tested through a questionnaire among students of Mendel University in Brno, who are theoretically well-informed people. Overall, 417 students answered, i.e., 19% of the respondents. The students generally recognised the need to address environmental issues, and 90.6% intended to change their lifestyle in this direction. Among the barriers, they mentioned in particular lack of time, lack of financial resources, lack of specific information and insufficient conditions. Addressing this issue requires close co-operation in education between governmental and non-governmental organisations in both the public and private sectors. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the situation in that it has drawn attention to the response of local companies to the global problem.

AbstractThe purpose of this text is the exhibition and analysis of public intervention procedures in the urban landscape of the city of Madrid. The ultimate goal of this analysis is to identify the public model for the urban landscape in Madrid. This text focuses on the analytical exposition of official documents rather than on their final conclusions, for which reason the denomination of Report corresponds. This report is organized in two parts: a theoretical exposition that frames the subsequent analysis of administrative instruments of intervention in the landscape. It is conceived as part of the Doctoral Thesis research titled "Recent Transformation of the Commercial Landscape in the Historic Center", bounded within a period of just ten years, marked by the crisis and economic deregulation, and in a territorial framework limited to the historic center of Madrid. This research is part of a general reflexion on the relationship between economic activity and urban landscape. The interest of this report for the investigation is about the utility of that public model for the urban landscape in Madrid as a parameter to assess the profitability of public and private efforts in improving the quality of the urban landscape.

<p>This article tackles the means of theatre space reconfiguration in the apartment theater (<em>lorgean theater</em>), simultaneously analyzing the relation between public and private specific to this form of art. Structured around both a theoretical analysis and a qualitative empirical investigation, this paper emphasizes the traits of the theatre space as component of an artistic product received by the audience, and its value in the process of artistic production, within the theatre sector. The case study of <em>lorgean theater, </em>including a participant observation and an individual interview, enables the understanding of these two aspects of the spatial configuration, emphasizing its hybrid nature in terms of spatial configuration and the public-private relation as well as the act of reappropriation of the domestic space through an alternative practice of theatre consumption.</p>
