It aimed to explore the effects of social media marketing, online advertising, and email marketing on the performance of SMEs in the new-normal era. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey research design. It used a structured questionnaire to obtain primary data from 295 operators of SMEs. The hypotheses developed for the study were statistically tested using multiple linear regression with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 23). The findings of the study revealed that social media marketing, online advertising, and email marketing had significant positive effects on the performance of SMEs in the new-normal era. Therefore, the study recommended that SMEs adopt social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp); online advertising tools (such as search engine, display, and website advertising); and email marketing tools (such as welcome email, email newsletters, and dedicated email promotions) to promote their products and services in order to enhance sales and marketing performance. The remote learning setup engendered numerous disadvantages to both learner and educator. Mental health, accessibility affected by one’s socioeconomic classification, availability of technological apparatuses, and lack of social integration are some of the reported disadvantages caused by remote learning. The effects are far more notable in subjects that demand physical activities given that several prerequisites must be accessible to the learner for him/her to successfully participate. To specifically assess the impact of this new normal in physical education, a specific course offering in University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Human Kinetics 12: Walking for Fitness, is examined through a quantitative study involving students who were enrolled. Surveys and other statistical tools are utilized to yield accurate data about the impact of mobility-restrictive measures to the perception and performance of the students. The findings of this study revealed what they feel about the quarantines and lockdowns have a negative effect to their perception and performance in HK12: Walking for Fitness. Besides the fact that the policies are meant to restrict mobility and that HK12: Walking for Fitness requires mobility, it must also be considered that the First Semester, A.Y. 2020-2021 is the first semester of the university to observe remote learning. Even though the study did not capture such behavior, it must be noted that the drastic shift to online classes made it difficult to students to cope with the new normal in education.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world in various sectors and human activities. Limiting human activity and mobility also has an impact on transportation and traffic. This study aims to calculate the capacity and performance of roads under normal pandemic conditions before PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) in April 2020 and New Normal in July 2002, as well as predict traffic conditions if the Tsunami disaster hits the city during both periods. Tsunami Evacuation roads in Padang City were selected for analysis. The Indonesian Road Capacity Manual 1997 on urban roads is used as a reference for analyzing road performance indicators. The results showed that; road performance during the PSBB period was better than the New Normal period. The effect of volume and side traffic disturbance factors in the New Normal period makes a significant decrease in performance. Through prediction simulations, if a Tsunami occurs in the two study periods, the analyzed roads can relatively serve evacuation movements. However, the capacity needs to be increased for normal conditions.

Abstract Background Our food environment is becoming increasingly dominated by ultra-processed foods and big industry players often escape accountability through self-regulation and vague commitments. Methods Applying the 'Business Impact Assessment' (BIA-Obesity), as proposed by INFORMAS, the commitments and performance of the biggest companies among packaged food and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturers, quick-service restaurants and supermarkets were assessed at a European level and in Belgium as a case study. The tool consists of six different domains comprising the corporate nutrition strategy, food formulation, labelling, marketing, accessibility of (un)healthy products and relationships with other organisations. Results Preliminary results for Belgian companies based on publicly available information show a median score of < 30% and a maximum score of < 60% for comprehensiveness, specificity and transparency of commitments. Hardly any commitments are in place to increase accessibility to healthier products. Even though several commitments are made regarding advertisement towards children below 12 years, on average 36% of sales is for products not-permitted to be marketed to children (WHO) and 71% for products that are ultra-processed (NOVA). Throughout Europe, companies selling ultra-processed foods on average generate 85% (77%-90%) of their sales from ultra-processed foods of which 50% (35%-74%) is not-permitted to be marketed to children. Conclusions Even though many commitments are made, they are not sufficiently specific or comprehensive and do not link well with performance. To reach the goals set out by the Sustainable Development goals and to improve the food environment it is crucial to ensure that commitments don't get lost in translation, but are strengthened and transformed into results. Key messages Food industry players make several nutrition and health related commitments, but these don’t always translate into performance. The BIA-tool clearly distinguishes between the comprehensiveness, specificity and transparency of nutrition related commitments made by the food industry.

A well accepted human factors concept is that poorly designed work systems can produce workload levels that pose a threat to safety and performance. The purpose of this study was to assess a systems model of workload and safety developed for nursing/healthcare. Using survey data from six nursing units in two pediatric hospitals, the study measured the relationship between self-reported workload at the unit, job, and task levels on the one hand and job dissatisfaction, burnout, and medication error likelihood on the other. Multiple linear and logistic regression revealed that staffing adequacy and medication administration workload strongly predicted the above patient and employee safety outcomes. Design priorities and strategies for future research are discussed, including the need for multiple-level approaches.
