This study aims to examine the relationship between bank profitability and the factors that affect the level of profitability of the banking system in Indonesia. The population and samples used in this study are ten banks with the largest total assets in Indonesia such as BRI, Bank Mandiri, BCA, BNI, CIMB Niaga, BTN, Bank Panin, Bank Permata, Maybank and Bank Danamon, with observation year 2012 until by 2015. Dependent variable is profitability represented by return on asset (ROA), while four independent variables are CAR (capital adequacy ratio), LOAN, GDP (gross domestic product) and inflation. The result of regression analysis shows that CAR, LOAN, GDP have important contribution significantly to profitability (ROA) in bank in Indonesia, while the inflation variable has no significant and negative effect on profitability (ROA).

Over the last few years, information and communication technology (ICT) has become a key catalyst for economic growth. The durability of this technology is demonstrated by the rapid proliferation of the Internet, mobile phones and cellular networks across the globe. However, among economic scholars, the question of exactly how the spread of ICT affects economic development and FDI, especially in ASEAN countries with differences in levels of income, remains unanswered. The aim of this study was essentially to explore the relationship between ICT dissemination, FDI and economic growth in ASEAN-8 countries. By using data from 2003 to 2017, the panel regression analysis was used to evaluate these relationships. The results showed that the dissemination of ICT and FDI are important and they have a positive effect on the ASEAN-8 countries’ economic development.

The use of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) for data characterized by lower order trends is inefficient and wasteful of statistical power. Significance of an effect may be diluted because ANOVA is responsive to higher order components in the data which are not likely to be significant. Polynomial Regression Analysis (PRA) is recommended for precise detection of significance and determination of the nature of the relationship.

AbstractPrevious studies have attempted to characterize patellar morphology and its relation to patellofemoral osteoarthritis but have utilized relatively small samples. We designed a large-scale cadaveric analysis to elucidate any potential relationship. Patellar morphology in 1,032 patellae was characterized using patellar facet concavity patterns initially developed by Wiberg and using the ratio of the lateral and medial facet lengths. Patellofemoral arthritis grading for specimens was previously completed based primarily on osteophytic burden. The average age at time of death was 56 ± 10 years. Wiberg's grading returned kappa values of 0.43 for intrarelator reliability and 0.27 for interrelator reliability. Using multiple regression analysis, Wiberg's type II was found to be correlated with patellofemoral arthritis (p = 0.003). Lateral to medial facet ratio measurements returned intraclass coefficients of 0.91 for intrarelator reliability and 0.85 for interrelator reliability. There was no association between lateral to medial facet ratio and osteoarthritis. Regression analysis between Wiberg's typing and lateral-to-medial ratio (L:M) resulted in a coefficient of determination of 0.14. To our knowledge, this is the largest study evaluating the relationship between patellar morphology and arthritis. Although there was a relationship between Wiberg's type II and patellofemoral arthritis, the Wiberg systems was not easily reproducible in our study and returned a correlation with arthritis different then anatomically expected. A more reproducible system of lateral to medial facet ratio was investigated but did not find an association with arthritic changes. Given these findings, we did not find a patella morphology grading system which is both reliable and valid in regard to association with patellofemoral arthritis.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of operating cash cycle in moderating the relationship of revenue changes and accruals. This research is classified as causative research with a quantitative approach. The population are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period of 2016 to 2018. By using purposive sampling method, there were 43 companies as the research’s sample. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the official site of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and company’s official website. The hypotheses were tests using panel regression analysis. The results indicate that revenue changes has not significant effect on accrual, also operating cash cycle is not able to strengthen or weaken the relationship between revenue changes and accruals

This research was aimed at designing and developing a discomfort index meter for evaluating transportation stress on broilers. The newly developed discomfort index meter is capable of recording and logging data every 5 seconds. The device was designed using LM35 electronic sensor to measure the dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures in degree Celsius (oC) and then use it to compute the discomfort level using the Thom model with the help of microcontroller. The newly developed equipment was successfully used to evaluate the effect of transport on the level of stress of four weeks old broilers over various distances and stocking densities using different means of transportation. The equipment was calibrated and compared with other available measuring instruments which showed that a high correlation exist between the values (r2 = 0.89).Also, a single factor (one-way) analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out and the results showed no significant difference between the two sets of values at 0.05 level of confidence which implies that the two readings are identical. The relative humidity readings of the device were compared with that of standard digital hygrometer reading using a regression analysis which also showed a high correlation coefficient (r2=0.98). A straight line regression equation y = 0.9497x + 5.1542 describes the relationship. The equipment is affordable and therefore recommended for determining stress on broilers and other livestock animals in transithttp://dx.doi.org/10.4314/njt.v36i3.40

Purpose of Study: This study implemented an empirical investigation for the relationship between credit risk management and profitability of commercial banks in Palestine over the period of 3years (2015-2018), ten commercial banks were selected. Methodology: The financial theory was employed to create the research model; Return on Asset (ROA) is defined as proxies of profitability while credit monitoring (LLPI) is defined as proxies of credit risk management.  Panel model analysis was used to estimate the determination of the profit function. Results: Statistical results revealed that the relationship between the credit monitoring and commercial banks profitability is negative significant (β= -3.419, P ˂ 0.05). Therefore, the results improve that LLPI has a significant effect on Palestinian commercial banks profitability's.

This article creates a new database that covers all U.S. banks in the census years between 1870 and 1900 to test the interaction between inequality and financial development when the banking system was starting over from scratch. A fixed-effects panel regression shows that the number of banks per thousand people in the South has a strong positive relationship with the size of farm operations. This suggests that large southern farm operators welcomed new banks after the Civil War. When the analysis is extended into the 1900s, the relationship becomes more negative, as bankers may have tried to block entrants.

This study aims to determine the relationship between work discipline and work motivation with the performance of MAN teachers in Bandar Lampung. This type of research is associative quantitative with a total population of 164 teachers and a research sample of 63 teachers. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The results showed that work motivation have a significant relationship with teacher performance. Judging from the value of the coefficient of determination of 0.550, the results show that the contribution or contribution of the relationship between X1 work discipline and X2 work motivation with Y teacher performance is 55% while the remaining 45% is the contribution of other variables not included in the study.

Abstract. Depression in older adults can be explained by Erikson’s theory on the conflict of ego integrity versus hopelessness. The study investigated the relationship between past acceptance, hopelessness, death anxiety, and depressive symptoms in 100 older (≥50 years) adults. The total Beck Hopelessness (BHS), Geriatric Depression (GDS), and Accepting the Past (ACPAST) subscale scores of the depressed group were higher, while the total Death Anxiety (DAS) and Reminiscing the Past (REM) subscale scores of both groups were similar. A regression analysis revealed that the BHS, DAS, and ACPAST predicted the GDS. Past acceptance seems to be important for ego integrity in older adults.
