Tourism and landscape are broad and complex scientific research fields, as is the synergy between them has given rise to a volume of articles diverse in nature, subject matter and methodology. These difficulties mean that, at present, there is no complete theoretical framework to support this tourism and landscape research, nor complete knowledge of its structure and organization. This motivates the present work, which constitutes the first attempt at mapping this research topic by applying bibliometric techniques using VOSviewer and Science Mapping Analysis Software Tool (SciMAT) software. A total of 3340 articles from journals indexed in Web of Science were analyzed. The results obtained confirm that interest in the study of these concepts has been growing, especially in the last decade. The main contribution of this work lies in the identification of work themes that were basic to the construction of the field but that are currently in decline, such as “cultural heritage” and other themes important to the field that should continue to be dealt with, such as “national parks” or “geotourism”. The transversal nature of sustainability that appears in the network of keywords related to currently emerging themes, such as “planning” and “environment”, is also highlighted and reinforced.

Background: Bibliometric analyses allow detecting citation trends within a field, including assessments of the most cited journals, countries, institutions, topics, types of study, and authors. Objectives: To perform a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most cited papers within infectious meningitis research. Methods: The 100 most cited publications and their data were retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science during 2019. Results: The New England Journal of Medicine had the greatest number of articles (27) and citations (12,266) in the top 100. Articles were mainly published after the late 1980s. Bacteria were the most discussed agents (72 articles and 26,362 citations), but Cryptococcus sp represented the most-discussed single agent (16 articles and 6,617 citations). Primary research represented 70 articles and 25,754 citations. Among them, the most discussed topic was Clinical Features and Diagnosis/Outcomes (22 articles and 8,325 citations). Among the 27 secondary research articles, the most common type of study was Narrative Review (18 articles and 5,685 citations). The United States was the country with the greatest number of articles (56) and citations (21,388). Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Yale University had the greatest number of articles (six each), being CDC the most cited (3,559). Conclusions: The most cited articles within meningitis research are primary research studies, more frequently published in high IF journals and by North American institutions. Bacterial meningitis comprises the majority of publications. The articles were mainly published after the AIDS pandemic and after the implementation of the main vaccines for meningitis.

This critique aimed to; 1) synthesize a body of knowledge of educational research methodology, 2) analyze and compare educational research methodology in Thai and international research articles, and 3) critique problems, strengths and weaknesses and put forward suggestions for standardizing Thai educational research methodology. Data were obtained from eight international textbooks, 95 articles and four Thai educational research methodology experts. Results revealed that the principles and international standards of educational research methodology included eight methodological categories which covered 34 characteristics. Findings from a comparison of Thai and international research articles indicated that Thai and international research articles were similar in 15 characteristics and different in five characteristics. Thai research articles had six problems relating to educational research methodology: information searching and English skills, educational research instruction, lack of experts in educational research methodology, research finding distribution, educational researcher development, and research article format.

The aim of this study was to research and analyze the different methodologies used for the valuation process and identify which are the most suitable for startup companies in the Brazilian market. The investigation was carried out by means of bibliographical research articles through the databases Scopus and Web of Science and through interviews with professional experts in valuation of companies. The approach of the subject valuation for business startups, presents plenty of opportunities in the countries of Central and South America by their limited amount of scientific production found in databases of scientific productions. From the market point of view, the article presents important contribution to the promotion and maintenance of startups projects, many of which in the early stage of deployment, since it will serve as a source of consultation for such category of company that needs to identify the better options in the process of valuation for startups and companies as support for the economic and financial viability study of projects in the early stage, supporting the professional segments of Administration, Finance and Engineering Production, not limited only to those. The originality of this research is to make a direct relationship of valuation commonly used with startups definitions proposed by Blank and Dorf (2014) and Ries (2011).

Additive manufacturing (AM) is revolutionizing the health industry, where itprovides innovative solutions for the production of personalized devices, such as hand orthoses. However, the scientific research dynamics in this topic have not yet been investigated. Thisstudy aims to fill this gap through the application of a competitive and technology intelligence(CTI) methodology enhanced by a scientometric and network map analysis. Major advances inthe fabrication of hand orthoses using AM, the presence of collaborations, and the mostinfluential authors were determined. Specifically, network map analysis, bibliographicoccurrence and bibliographic coupling were conducted on documents retrieved from Scopus andthe Web of Science (WoS), and on patents from more than 104 authorities. Results showed onlynine published patent families and 34 research articles on this topic from 2006 to 2016. Tenpapers concern static orthoses, while 24 deal with dynamic orthoses and exoskeletons. Theindegree and outdegree parameters and the betweenness centrality of these documents enabledus to determine the most cited authors and instances of collaboration (papers co-authoredbetween institutions). Dr. Paterson A. M. J. was the most influential author, with fourpublications with the highest betweenness centrality in the network (189), which accounted forthe most cited document with five citations. The institution with the most publications wasLoughborough University, with four papers, and the collaboration between affiliations was rare. These documents review important aspects of manufacturing orthoses using AM, andadditionally pay particular attention to the importance of personalised orthoses where AMcontributes. Notably, these papers focused primarily on studies for the development of amethodology for the fabrication of hand orthoses using AM, but they do not present anyapplication. This research provides insights to better understand the dynamics of research anddevelopment in the orthopaedics domain, specifically for hand orthoses.

Based on two sets of data consisting of research articles from Web of Science, analyses were made on articles citing Genette and articles using the paratext concept. The purpose was to investigate the context in which the paratext concept is used and Genette is cited by analyzing the journals and research fields in which the articles were published, the literature these articles are based on, and the terminology used in the articles. This chapter presents the results, which show both close connections and similarities in citation patterns, namely, to literature studies and to the humanities in general. It is also possible to see signs of an increased interest in digital media and a widening of cultural expressions studied within the realm of the humanities, such as computer games, while Genette and paratextual theories are used to a much lesser extent in the social sciences. In addition to the empirical study, the relation between paratext studies and bibliometrics is briefly discussed.
