The creation of the system of continuous education in Russia is primarily the result of this process, as specialists self-education is a necessary condition for successful employment, career growth, social and professional mobility at the present time. At the same time, the needs and opportunities of various forms of continuing education are unevenly distributed in various industries. So the IT industry requires constant self-education of employees. Practice shows that secondary general education, as a rule, does not develop the necessary skills of graduates self-education. Therefore, the issues of management of bachelors self-development as well as the formation of readiness for continuous education are very relevant for higher education. The paper describes conditions for the development of bachelors readiness to continue education in its various forms (formal, informal) using the electronic portfolio system, which is an integral part of the electronic information and educational environment (EIEE) of the University. The obtained materials can serve as a basis for the development of a single electronic educational space of Russian universities.

The article substantiates the importance of pedagogical stimulation educational activities of students, which is due to the trends of modern higher education, namely the idea of continuing education. Despite the sufficient degree of development of issues of pedagogical stimulation and activation of educational activities, this problem does not find a comprehensive solution in relation to higher education. In the activity of a teacher, in addition to the implementation of educational, educational, and developmental functions, a special place is occupied by a stimulating function. This is evidenced by the theoretical analysis of the works of classics of Russian pedagogy. The study of the experiences of scientists and analysis of own pedagogical activity allowed us to offer a comprehensive approach to the pedagogical stimulation of educational activity of student: application of enabling methods and technologies of training, the implementation of stimulating activities and educational incentives. The article defines the stimulating actions of the teacher at each stage of practical training at the University (introductory, main, final) and the pedagogical incentives used by them. Stimulating actions of the teacher encourage productive joint educational process of students and teachers. Comprehensive stimulation of educational activities will contribute to the formation of the subject position of students, the formation of a positive emotional and value attitude to the learning process, improve the quality of education, and act as a factor in the development of the ability to self-development and self-education.

This article deals with the urgent problem of teacher’s professional self-development at a higher educational institution, based on normative and acmeological aspects. In the process of achieving this goal – which is the study of the peculiarities of professional self-development in the terms of Ukrainian higher education in its cultural and historical context – the analysis of such problems, as the transformation of forms of consciousness into educational interactions; professional archetype of a teacher; the transformation of the content of professional self-development, was conducted. The given problem has practical meaning. It means that there are a number of objective factors, which influence the essence of a teacher's professional self-development, as a process, connected with the concept of lifelong education, and turn it into a component of the creation of professional identity. We came to the following conclusions: firstly, concerning the dual nature of professional and personal identity (real and imaginary, virtual), which is objectified in the cultural and educational space of the university; secondly, studying the peculiarities of the teacher's self-development,special attention should be paid to appropriate archetypes as culturally conditioned generalized patterns; thirdly, a change in the type of teacher’s professional self-development is caused by both the transformation of the character of the person’s identity and the change of archetype

The article is devoted to the actual problem of prevention of extremist moods of students in modern conditions of functioning of educational organizations of higher education. The development of prevention programs that ensure the effectiveness of the corresponding preventive activities of higher education institutions should be based on empirically confirmed and scientifically based information about the patterns and factors of occurrence and development of extremist moods of ethnic and religious orientation among students. The article presents the results of an empirical study that reveals the current state of the problem of the spread of extremist moods among modern students and the level of their propensity to extremist activities. Based on the results of the conducted empirical research, the author constructs a predictive model of possible manifestations of extremism among students studying in modern Russian universities, thereby determining the need and feasibility of developing effective measures to prevent the development of extremism in the youth environment. The empirical study involved 563 students of 2-3 courses of a number of Russian universities that carry out educational activities and implement educational programs in various areas of training (law, Economics, psychological, psychological-pedagogical and pedagogical education, etc.). Based on the identification of indicators of a person's propensity to ethnic extremism and the development of appropriate diagnostic tools, the author conducts a study, which concludes that it is necessary to search for effective measures to prevent extremist manifestations in the student environment in the process of organizing the educational process of the University. The revealed level of students ' propensity to extremism and its manifestation in their life activity is the main indicator of the relevance of the problem of preventing ethnic extremism among students in the process of their education at the University.

This article spotlights the emotional aspect of the commercialization of university studies. Whereas the literature on current challenges of higher education highlights the students’ customer role, we reveal how neoliberal studenthood combines a consumerist worldview with the discourse of emotional experience. The narratives of Israeli students in the present article show consumerist–emotional therapeutic duality in the ways they make sense of their encounter with the university. Students evaluate how their professors meet their emotional, therapeutic, and consumer needs and perceive the knowledge they acquire as providing them with both pragmatic skills and emotional experience. We argue that this duality is significant to the emerging culture of ‘academic capitalism’ and show how the commercialized feelings and pragmatics of self-development operate as a manifestation of ‘emotional capitalism’.

Critical university studies courses can provide students with a context in which to learn not only about the concealed workings and hidden curriculum of the university, but more than that a liberatory space in which to find voice in shaping their own futures. This paper explores the liberatory potential of critical university studies through a conversation between a faculty member who designed and taught an interdisciplinary general education course on higher education and a student who was enrolled in the course the first time it was offered. The conversation explores the course’s pedagogy as both professor and student contemplate the ways in which contemporary higher education may limit the horizons of first-generation students and the ways in which critical university studies can open up possibilities and provide students with a sense of self-efficacy.
