To determine the effect of continuing nursing on self-care ability and nursing satisfaction of patients undergoing resection of rectal cancer (RC), a total of 130 patients undergoing resection of RC who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from April 2018 to May 2019 were enrolled. Among them, 62 patients nursed under the routine nursing mode for advanced RC were assigned to Group A, and other 68 patients nursed under continuing nursing mode based on the routine nursing for patients undergoing resection of RC were assigned to Group B. The two groups were compared in mental health, emotional state, life quality, and self-care ability before and after nursing care during hospitalization and after 2 months of follow-up visit, and they were also compared in nursing satisfaction, status on discharge, and complications. After nursing care. Group B got notably lower scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) ans self-rating depression scale (SDS) than Group A (both P<0.001), and showed much better compliance than Group A (P<0.001). The quality of life scale (QOL-C30) scores in physical health, mental health, material life, and social function of Group B were all notably higher than those of Group A (all P<0.001). Additionally, after nursing care. Group B got notably higher scores of self-care ability than Group A (all P<0.001), and showed notably higher nursing satisfaction than Group A (P<0.05). Group B experienced shorter hospitalization than Group A, but there was no significant difference between them during the periods of 10 d-15 d, 16 d-21 d and 22 d-3 Od (all P>0.05). Moreover, after nursing care, the incidence of complications in Group B was notably lower than that in Group A (P<0.05). Continuing nursing can provide better results of improving the emotion and life quality of patients undergoing resection of RC based on routine nursing, and it can reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications on such patients to a certain extent.

To study the effect of cluster nursing model combined with psychological intervention on emotional control and life quality of patients with continuous blood purification (CBP) and catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI). 126 patients with CBP catheterization treated in our hospital (November 2018-November 2019) were chosen as the study subjects, and randomly split into group A and group B, 63 cases in each group. Group B adopted routine nursing while group A received cluster nursing model with psychological intervention to compare the emotional control level and life quality between the two groups. No obvious differences in sex ratio, age, BMI, smoking history, drinking history, marital status, disease types, catheter indwelling time and catheter position were found between the two groups(P>0.05). After nursing intervention, MPV and CD62-P in group A were obviously lower while PLT value was obviously higher compared with group B (P<0.001). CRBSI occurred later in group A compared with group B after intervention (P<0.001), and CRBSI duration was shorter compared with group B (P<0.001). The CECS scores in both groups after intervention were obviously higher, and CECS score in group A after nursing intervention was obviously higher compared with group B(P<0.001). SF-36 scores in both groups after nursing intervention were obviously higher, and SF-36 score in group A after intervention was higher compared with group B (P<0.001). The total nursing satisfaction in group A was obviously higher compared with group B (P<0.05). Cluster nursing model combined with psychological intervention can enhance emotional control level of patients with CBP catheterization, shorten the CRBSI duration, improve the life quality and nursing satisfaction, with obvious effect, deserving reference and promotion.

Abstract Entrepreneurs usually work for long hours resulting in exhaustion, stress, and burnout. The prevalent symptoms of burnout are reduced levels of physical and mental energy, reduced job efficiency and diminished productivity. Therefore, it is important to improve the health of entrepreneurs. Gamification has a positive relationship with improvements in health and well-being as it influences positive experiences and satisfaction. This trial aims to study how 30-minutes of virtual reality game use via Kinect Azure and Oculus platforms 3-times per week, for 4 weeks, relates to differences in entrepreneur stress, burnout, subjective life quality, and downstream firm performance. We will recruit entrepreneurs over the age of 18 for the gamification analysis. Analysis of previous power using G*Power will determine the sample size. We will divide the participants into 3 groups, wherein Group A will undergo gamification on the Kinect platform, Group B will undergo the Oculus Quest intervention, and Group C will be the control group. We will conduct the study at two sites, one at the HuMen research. The outcome measures include a five-point Likert scale for measuring entrepreneurial stress, burnout-measuring scale (BMS) for burnout, five-point Likert scale for performance and SF-12 for Quality of life. Since current strains pave ways to future accomplishment, entrepreneurs' eudemonic well-being might particularly relate to forward-looking challenge stressors and burnouts. The results will provide an insight into how gamification could help entrepreneurs to deal with work stress and maintain high well-being.

<b><i>Background:</i></b> Diabetes as a metabolic disorder can affect the various systems of the body, resulting in a decrease in cardiovascular fitness, sleep quality, and life quality that can lead to depression and fatigue. <b><i>Aim:</i></b> We analyzed cardiovascular fitness, sleep quality, depression, fatigue, and quality of life among individuals with a glycated hemoglobin (HBA1C) level &#x3e;6.5% and ≤6.5%, as well as the relationship among glycated hemoglobin, maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), obesity, sleep quality, depression, and duration of diabetes. <b><i>Method:</i></b> HBA1C (mean: 5.90 ± 0.93%) was studied in a total of 70 subjects (mean age: 62.37 ± 7.5 years). The 2 study groups were as follows: group A, HBA1C &#x3e;6.5%, and group B, HBA1C ≤6.5%. BMI, VO2max, quality of sleep and life, depression, and fatigue were assessed in both groups. <b><i>Results:</i></b> There was a statistically significant difference between the groups at a significance level of <i>p</i> &#x3c; 0.001. Group A had a lower cardiovascular fitness, a poor sleep quality, and increased depression compared to group B. A statistically significant negative linear correlation was found between VO2max and glycated hemoglobin, and a significant positive linear correlation was found between glycated hemoglobin and duration of diabetes, poor quality of sleep, and depression for all subjects, which was insignificant in the groups. <b><i>Conclusions:</i></b> A long duration of diabetes and an increased glycemic status may influence cardiovascular fitness, sleep quality, and life quality, leading to depression and fatigue.

Objective. To explore the effect of continuous nursing care based on the “information-motivation-behavioral skills model” (IMB) in the intervention of patients with aplastic anemia. Methods. A total of 90 patients with aplastic anemia who were admitted to our hospital from June 2019 to January 2021 were included in the study. The patients were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table, with 45 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received continuous nursing care based on IMB on the basis of the control group. Patients were followed up for 3 months, and their health knowledge was assessed with our self-made health knowledge rating scale. Patients’ medication compliance was assessed using the Morisky medication compliance questionnaire. The self-care ability was assessed with the self-made self-care ability scale in our hospital. The comprehensive quality of life assessment questionnaire (GQOLI-74) was used to assess the quality of life of patients. A self-prepared nursing satisfaction questionnaire was used to score patients’ nursing satisfaction. The total effective rate of nursing was evaluated. Results. The awareness scores of basic disease knowledge, medication knowledge, and daily self-care knowledge in the observation group were higher than those in the control group ( P  < 0.05). The scores of medication compliance in the observation group were higher than those in the control group ( P  < 0.05). The self-care abilities such as healthy diet, psychological adjustment, self-care skills, oral care, and perianal care in the observation group were higher than those in the control group ( P  < 0.05). The quality of life scores of patients in the two groups in the 3 months of nursing were higher than those when they were discharged from hospital ( P  < 0.05). The GQOLI-74 score of 3 months’ nursing care in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P  < 0.05). The nursing satisfaction degree of the observation group (97.78%) was higher than that of the control group (82.23%) ( P  < 0.05). The total effective rate of nursing care in the observation group (97.78%) was higher than that in the control group (77.78%) ( P  < 0.05). Conclusion. IMB-based continuous nursing care can significantly increase the awareness of health knowledge in patients with aplastic anemia, effectively improve medication compliance, significantly enhance self-care ability, and thus, improve the quality of life.

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor inhibitors (EGFRi) are approved as therapeutic options in several solid tumors. Cutaneous papulopustular eruption is the most frequent cutaneous adverse-event (AE), usually treated with emollient or corticosteroids according to toxicity grade. Our study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a topical product containing polydatin, a glycosylated polyphenol, natural precursor of resveratrol showing anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative activities, for the prevention and treatment of skin papulopustular rash in EGFRi-treated patients. Forty oncologic patients treated with EGFRi were enrolled in two groups: group-A, 20 patients with papulopustular AE, and group-B, 20 patients without cutaneous manifestations. The study consisted of twice-daily application of polydatin cream 1.5% (group-A) and 0.8% (group-B) for 6 months. In group-A patients, we observed at week 4 a remarkable improvement of skin manifestation and quality of life evaluated with National-Cancer-Institute-Common-Terminology-Criteria for Adverse-Events (NCI-CTCAE), Dermatology-Life-Quality-Index (DLQI) score and Visual-Analogue-Scale (VAS) pruritus, with a statistical significance of p < 0.05. None of the patients of group-B developed skin AEs to EGFRi. No cutaneous AEs related to the polydatin product were reported in both groups. Polydatin can be a good topical aid for the prevention and management of papulopustular rash in cancer patients receiving EGFRi, also capable of improving cancer patients’ quality of life.

The article analyzes the physical and psychological components of the quality of life (QOL) in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy (DP) on the background of type I and II diabetes mellitus (DM) with comorbidity. Has been demonstrated the prevalence of more frequent multimorbidity in this nosology and its effect on patients’ QOL. QOL is recognized as an integral part of a comprehensive analysis of new methods of diagnosis, treatment, prevention, quality of treatment and medical assistance [2]. With the highest frequency in DM detect sensory or sensorimotor forms of distal symmetrical DP. However, there are motor symptoms in DM, including cranial neuropathy and Bruns-Garland syndrome (diabetic amyotrophy) [3], which interfere with the satisfactory functioning of patients. The purpose of our work was to assess the extent of physical and mental functioning of people with DP on the background of multimorbidity. Materials and methods. We examined 92 patients with DP on the background of type I and II DM, aged from 19 to 69 years, which were divided into 2 groups: from DP on the background of type 1 DM (group I) and type II (group II). We distinguished such subgroups: DP on the background of type I DM and concomitant cardiovascular pathology (CVP) (group A), DP on the background of type II DM and concomitant CVP (group B), DP on the background of type I DM and gastroenterological pathology (GEP) (group C), DP on the background of type II DM and GEP (group D), DP on the background of type I DM and pathology of the thyroid gland (thyroid) (group E), DP on the background of type II DM and thyroid pathology (group F). Patients underwent clinical and neurological examination, laboratory tests and ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity and thyroid gland, electromyography (EMG). Static calculation was done in MS Excel 2003. Results and discussion. In groups A and B with the highest frequency among CVP was arterial hypertension - 91% vs 97% and coronary heart disease - 27% vs 41%. In group C - chronic hepatitis (40%), chronic cholecystitis (40%), chronic pancreatitis (40%), chronic gastroduodenitis (40%). In people of group D, gallstone disease was diagnosed more often than in other pathologies (43%). The leading place in group E was occupied by autoimmune thyroiditis (29%), idiopathic hypothyroidism (29%), thyrotoxicosis (29%), in group F - nodular goiter (57%). The longest duration of DM was observed in group A - 24.54 ± 2.46 years, the smallest in group D - 7.14 ± 1.01 years. Diabetic foot syndrome was diagnosed in patients of groups A and B in 14%, group C - in 2%. In patients of group I, the indicators of QOL were higher than in group II. The highest indicators were of groups I and II in the domains social (SF) and physical functioning (PF) - 66.75 ± 2.41; 65.5 ± 3.23 and 63.39 ± 3.54; 61.42 ± 3.88. In group A, the level of QOL was slightly higher than in group B, in particular in the domains of mental health (MH) - 53.09 ± 3.12, bodily pain (BP) - 50.90 ± 4.05. In addition, the manifestations of DP in such group of individuals (group A) were manifested by the absence or mild pain, which causes in people of this group higher rate of QOL. QOL in patients of group C was higher than in group D, in particular, the indicators of physical functioning (PF) - 68.75 ± 5.88, social functioning (SF) - 65.62 ± 5.35, role emotional (RE) - 58.33 ± 18.75, mental health (MH) - 54 ± 5.36. In group D, the data were high in the domains of social functioning (SF) 60.71 ± 16.0 and physical functioning (PF) 57.14 ± 8.37. In the examined patients of group F the level of QOL was higher than in group E, it was, in the domains of physical functioning (PF) - 76.42 ± 7.99, bodily pain (BP) - 61.28 ± 11.18, general health (GH) - 60.85 ± 7.33. Physical health (PH) was low in all groups, but slightly higher in group F (47.90 ± 3.45). The mental health (MH) was low in all groups of patients, slightly higher in group C (47.89 ± 3.59). Conclusions. The level of QOL in persons with DP on the background of type I and II DM with multimorbidity was generally not high. Patients in group D showed the lowest levels of QOL, they also had a level of glycated hemoglobin much higher than in other groups. In group F, the data of QOL were higher, because people with DP on the background of type I DM (group E) had a higher frequency of concomitant thyroid damage, the manifestations of which significantly complicate the course of the underlying disease and reduce levels of functioning. Often manifestations of diabetic foot occur in the onset of DP, when the fibers responsible for sensitivity were damaged, which causes the appearance of the neuropathic component of pain, so in persons of group B the lowest among all groups was the level of QOL in the domain of pain intensity. In addition, it was convenient to monitor the results of treatment by conducting a QOL survey several times a year. Careful analysis of QOL in all areas of functioning in patients with DP allowed detecting early mental disorders and timely start treatment, including psychotherapy sessions. Keywords: quality of life, diabetic polyneuropathy, comorbidity, diabetic foot.
