Taxation research has received considerable attention from many scholars, practitioners and policymakers across the globe. Many scholars have also conducted research on taxation in the Malaysian context. However, papers that track the trends of such research are scanty in the existing literature. The aim of this study is to review the trend and frequencies of published literature on taxation in Malaysia based on the Scopus database using the search term “Malaysia and tax”. The design of the study is bibliometric analysis. As of 23rd September 2020, a total of 88 documents were retrieved and analysed using Excel, Hazing’s Publish or Perish and VOSviewer software. Based on the standard bibliometric indicators, this paper reports the research papers and source types, years and language of publications, subject area, most active institutions, most active sources’ titles, keywords, authorship, abstract, title analysis and citation analysis. Findings revealed that there is an increase in growth rate of literature on studies related to taxation in the Malaysian context from 1977 to 2020 published in the Scopos database. The publications reached an all-time peak in 2016 to 2017 but significantly dropped in 2018 and 2019 based on the data retrieved from the Scopus database. The findings further show that Universiti Teknologi MARA is the most influential institution with 18.18% of the total documents retrieved, followed by Universiti Utara Malaysia with 9.1% respectively. Additional findings of the study show that Advance Science Letters is the highest source title with 14.71% of the published documents. The finding also indicates that Adhikari, Derashid and Zhang (2006) are the most influential authors with 187 citations as at 23rd September 2020. The research is limited to the literatures published in Scopus database, other database were not covered in this study. Malaysian policymakers should provide more research grants to tax practitioners and academicians to increase the level of publications in this field.

Nowadays, Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) is becoming a buzz word, and more and more academics are putting efforts on CSR studies. It is believed that CSR could influence Corporate Reputation (CR), and they hold a favourable view that CSR leads to a positive CR. To be specific, the CSR related activities in the reputational context have been regarded as ways that associate to excellent financial performance, value creation, etc. Also, it is argued that CSR and CR are two sides of one coin; hence, to some extent, doing CSR is equal to establishing a good reputation. Still, there is no consensus of the CSR-CR relationship in the literature; thus, a systematic literature review is highly in need. This research conducts a systematic literature review with both bibliometric and content analysis. Data are selected from English language sources, and academic journal articles only, then, keyword combinations are applied to identify relevant sources. Data from Scopus and WoS are gathered for bibliometric analysis. In terms of the topic of CSR-CR, this literature review with bibliometric analysis has made four achievements. First, this paper has developed a systematic study which quantitatively depicts the knowledge structure of CSR and CR by identifying terms closely related to CSR-CR (such as ‘corporate governance’) and clustering subtopics emerged in co-citation analysis. Second, content analysis is performed to acquire insight on the findings of bibliometric analysis in the discussion section. And it highlights some insightful implications for the future research agenda, for example, a psychological link between CSR-CR is identified from the result; also, emerging economies and qualitative research methods are new elements emerged in the CSR-CR big picture. Third, a multidisciplinary perspective presents through the whole bibliometric analysis mapping and co- word and co-citation analysis; hence, this work builds a structure of interdisciplinary perspective which potentially leads to an integrated conceptual framework in the future. Finally, Scopus and WoS are compared and contrasted in this paper; as a result, Scopus which has more depth and comprehensive data is suggested as a tool for future bibliometric analysis studies. Overall, this paper has fulfilled its initial purposes and contributed to the literature.

The contribution of entrepreneurship at both the microeconomic and macroeconomic levels is remarkable. There are many entrepreneurship development programs (EDP) initiatives proposed by policymakers around the world to ensure the growth of entrepreneurs. While EDP is necessary to improve entrepreneur capabilities, however studies on EDP evaluation literacy remain limited. This study aims to fill the gap by investigating EDP evaluation literacy by using a systematic literature review (SLR). This study carried out a bibliometric analysis on a Scopus database in the last three decades, from 1989 to 2021 with all the manuscripts were written in English. The results show that most of the literature on EDP evaluation-related themes is mainly focused on program evaluation, characteristics, challenges, stakeholders, and context, with program evaluation and characteristics are considered as the most significant issues of EDP evaluation. Interestingly, this study also reveals that few manuscripts review the process of EDP as the success criterion of EDP implementation.

This study aims to examine the literature related to shariah compliance in the Scopus database. Furthermore, classification and critical commentary were applied to find a new direction for developing studies on shariah compliance in Islamic economics. The bibliometric approach was used to analyse 233 articles, while a systematic literature review was used to classify issues from 82 articles on this paradigm. The results showed that the examined studies grew significantly and were influential in developing the shariah compliance paradigm. This was indicated by the author’s highest m-index of 0.666. However, this literature primarily concerns financial institutions and their relationship with the paradigm, followed by related literature in various industries, with extensive discussion on ethics and in the normative context. In this regard, shariah compliance issues can be classified into three topics, namely Islamic banks, non-bank financial institutions, and general firms. Shariah compliance was insufficiently used as an instrument to measure the product restructuring impact of an Islamic bank and a reflection of the compliance from the customer psychology perspective. In this context, it is necessary to transform the paradigm into “preventing exploitation” by introducing the customer exploitation index.
