Electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) is a word-of-mouth promotion using internet-connected electronic devices. However, e-WOM among students has not been effective as it has not created any impacts on universities concerned. The purpose of this research is to evaluate e-WOM among students and direct the occurrence of positive e-WOM which will ultimately impact universities, especially private universities in Medan. This study used the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) method to test how well measured variables represent constructs or the preformed factors. This research is quantitative involving 210 students of the fourth semester above. The data collected were processed with AMOS Program. The confirmatory factor analysis tests showed as many as 21 indicators remained in the model. The goodness-of-fit value of all models for each variable is received after the modification process.

Background: The study aims to investigate the prevalence of dry eye in college students in the Uparwara community.Methods: This pilot study was conducted tenure to declaration of Helsinki rules with n=240 (males 200 and females 40) with in the age group of 18-25 years, OSDI questionnaire was used to assess the prevalence among the college students of Uparwara community at Raipur.Results: Data from 240 subjects were analyzed with a mean age group of 19.41±0.70 mean±SD. This OSDI questionnaire study with subscales for dry eye symptoms were measured in both the genders males 213 (89%), females 27 (11%). The percentage distributions among the subjects showed that 116 (48.3%) participants reported dry eye symptoms and 124 (51.6%) was normal.Conclusions: This study emphasized on the prolonged usage of VDT and electronic devices i.e., >4 hours as a compliance factor for dry eye, our data suggest that VDT usage less than 4 hours also can be a risk factor for dry eye since all our 116 participants with dry eye symptoms are VDT users and interestingly 78% (90) of them are <4 hours VDT users but still have dry eye symptoms.

Cyberbullying is attracting social, political, and academic interest as the use of electronic devices such as computers and mobile phones by young people has increased dramatically. However, little is known about the factors involved in their perpetration, particularly in the context of college students’ dating relationships. The aim of this study is to examine the involvement of college students in cyberbullying in the context of their dating relationships and to explore the impact of sexism on males’ cyberbullying of their girlfriends. Participants are 219 undergraduate students from a university in the south of Spain. Results showed that 48.4% of participants reported having bullied their partners during the last year via mobile phone and 37.5% via Internet. Males reported a greater extent of cyberbullying of their girlfriends through both means. Regression analyses indicated that males’ levels of hostile sexism are related to males’ cyberbullying of their girlfriends. These findings suggest a modernization in the forms of violence toward women among college students and also expand current literature by revealing the influence of participants’ hostile sexism on this type of cyber aggression against women in dating relationships.

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders are defined as disorders and/or injuries that affect muscles, tendons, skeleton, cartilage, ligaments and nerves. Due to Covid-19, educational institutions were shut down which led to dependency on online classes. Due to decreased physical activity and spending more time on electronic devices in incorrect postures may lead to musculoskeletal disorders. Purpose of study: To find out the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among college students during Covid-19 pandemic to help students know the most prone body areas for musculoskeletal discomfort so as to plan for ergonomic modification and for uplifting musculoskeletal health. Methodology: A ‘Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire’ was filled by 250 college students by means of Google forms. Statistical analysis was done using Microsoft Excel 2007. Results: Among 250 students 64.4% had at least one musculoskeletal symptom in the previous year. The affection was in Lower back (38%), Neck (36.4%), Shoulder (27.20%), Upper back (22%), Knee (13.60%), Wrist (13.20%), Ankle (12.40%), Elbow (6.80%), Hip (6.40%). Conclusion: This study concluded that due to increased screen-time on electronic devices during COVID-19 led to high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (64.4%) in college students. The highest musculoskeletal disorder was found in Lower back region (38%). Key words: Musculoskeletal disorder, College students, COVID-19.

Adolescents and young university students tend to sleep less than adults and children and this could be related to new lifestyles such as greater use of electronic devices and produce greater health risks. Sexting is generally known as creating, sending and/or forwarding of sexual content using electronic devices. When such content is non-consensually disseminated, it becomes a criminally relevant behavior. To date, very few empirical studies have examined the prevalence of non-consensual dissemination of sexting, and none of them have analyzed the relationship with psychopathology and further victimization outcomes. Therefore, the aims of this study were (1) to examine the prevalence of non-consensual dissemination of sexual content, (2) to analyze the prevalence of further victimization as a result of non-consensual dissemination of sexting and (3) to investigate the association between secondary victimization as a result of non-consensual dissemination of sexting and psychopathology. The sample comprised 1370 Spanish college students (73.6% female; mean age = 21.4 years; SD = 4.85) who answered an online survey about their engagement in sexting behaviors, online sexual victimization and psychopathology, measured by a sexting scale and the Listado de Síntomas Breve (LSB-50), respectively. Overall, 43 participants (3.14) were victims of non-consensual dissemination of sexting, and results showed those participants who had suffered further victimization reported higher psychopathology scores than those who were not victimized and that being victimized by an ex-partner was associated with poorer mental health outcomes in the victim. Further implications are discussed.

Objective to study the way medical students are using electronic devices in subway cars, to check their self-assessment of the concomitant risks, and to evaluate the level of artificial lighting in the subway cars. Material and methods.The study involved the sociological, instrumental, and statistical methods. 123 students of the "Medical College No. 2", 272 students of Pirogov Medical University, 176 teachers of the university and the college were interviewed. The traceable measurement of the level of artificial illumination in the subway cars was done using the combined instrument "TKA-PKM (43)". Statistical processing was performed using the software package Statistica 10.0. Results.79.7% of college students, 93.4% of university students and 30.9% of teachers use electronic devices on public transport daily. The risk of using electronic devices in transport is subjectively underestimated by 21.9% of college students, 49.2% of university students and 16.4% of teachers. The study revealed that in the wi-fi zone of Moscow Metro passenger trains in cars of 81-714 and 81-714.5m types, the artificial illumination was not providing optimal conditions for visual performance. In the hygienic education of medical students, the university and college teachers should play a leading role, as they have professional knowledge on healthy lifestyle issues and are able to use this knowledge in their professional activities. Conclusion.We identified the risk factor that contributes to development of vision disorders in the medical students. This factor is controllable and can be neutralised by the formation of healthy lifestyle skills among medical students. Building on Junco’s (2013) study examining the accuracy of self-reported computer-specific time on Facebook, the current study investigates the accuracy of self-reported time on multiple social media (SM) platforms across multiple electronic devices and evaluates whether reporting accuracy is systematically associated with participant sex, individual SM platform in question, or total number of SM platforms used. Participants were 320 college students who downloaded software on their computers, tablets, and smartphones to track their active use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat over a 2-week surveillance period and then self-reported their daily average minutes on each platform immediately after. Larger proportions of students over- estimated than under-estimated their use, with the largest overestimations found on Snapchat and Instagram. Relative to males, females logged significantly more SM time and were less accurate in reporting. Overall, the likelihood of substantial inaccuracies in reporting total SM time and time on most individual platforms increased with each additional SM platform participants reported using. Findings from this study cast further doubt on the validity of self-report SM measures in the present SM landscape and underscore the need for either data analytic strategies to adjust for systematic reporting biases or a shift towards objective time-tracking methods.

The first few atomic layers of a solid can form a barrier between its interior and an often hostile environment. Although adsorption at the vacuum-solid interface has been studied in great detail, little is known about adsorption at the liquid-solid interface. Adsorption at a liquid-solid interface is of intrinsic interest, and is of technological importance because it provides a way to coat a surface with monolayer or multilayer structures. A pinhole free monolayer (with a reasonable dielectric constant) could lead to the development of nanoscale capacitors with unique characteristics and lithographic resists that surpass the resolution of their conventional counterparts. Chemically selective adsorption is of particular interest because it can be used to passivate a surface from external modification or change the wear and the lubrication properties of a surface to reflect new and useful properties. Immunochemical adsorption could be used to fabricate novel molecular electronic devices or to construct small, “smart”, unobtrusive sensors with the potential to detect a wide variety of preselected species at the molecular level. These might include a particular carcinogen in the environment, a specific type of explosive, a chemical agent, a virus, or even a tumor in the human body.
