Studies encompassing media-effects are a prime subject for social science scholars worldwide. The dilemma lies in the very fact that in Pakistan this issue of great significance has not been paid proper attention. Juvenile delinquency is one of the major issues that cause a great hindrance in the social progress of any society. It not only creates anxiety and aggression in youth, but also turns productive humans into a destructive force against family, society and nation. This research endeavors to discover the consequences of violence in movies with respect to Pakistani youth and uncovering a connection between subjection to such type of content and consequently criminal propensities. Publicized research has examined media effects with a variety of consequences; this research has empirical evidence that exhibits the very fact that violence in the media causes delinquency, thus promoting criminal behavior, especially within the context of Pakistani society.

Historians have awaited with great interest a new endeavor to tell the story of business in America — not in a narrow or technical way, but broadly related to the social environment of which business is one part. Economic historians, business historians, sociologists, and many other specialists have gathered extensive data on phases of business behavior, and are continuing to do so at a commendably prolific rate. The job of synthesis, however, has been neglected, perhaps because of its formidable demands. No two scholars would be likely to agree on the content and emphasis of any volume, such as the one reviewed here, that describes the development of American business. This circumstance does not detract from either the usefulness of the effort or the value of the criticism. The increasingly specialized nature of scholarship demands both the stimulus of a general thesis and wide reactions to that thesis if historical perception is to be kept abreast of accumulating evidence.

There is a long history in criminology of examining the effects of social bonds on criminal behavior. A similar conceptual framework that developed in sociology is social capital theory. Studies using these models have addressed the effects of parent–child relationships on adolescent behavior. However, social bond theory tends to predominate as an explanation of juvenile delinquency. We developed a comparative analysis of measures of family social bonds and family social capital using nationally representative data on youth ( N = 6,432). Measurement models suggested that family social capital is a more parsimonious latent construct than family social bonds. Moreover, it is a more efficient predictor of delinquent behavior. Thus, we encourage criminologists to adopt family social capital as a promising concept and empirical variable in their quest to understand delinquent behavior.

ABSTRACT (1) The validity of the norms that determine society’s identity needs to be guaranteed. The reason is that there are other alternatives to this society. The guarantee is accomplished when it is valid that each person has the duty to comply with the norms (law) and that sanctioning occurs in case of not complying. Sanctioning therefore means confirming the identity of society. The confirmation is totally accomplished with the sanction. (2) On the contrary, there’s no alternative to the rules that refer to the social environment; therefore they stabilize themselves. Here lies the basis for lower sanctions in case of reckless acts due to mistakes—not due to indifference. (3) The disturbance of validity occurs in the same manner as its guarantee: by meaning, not by nature. Natural events, such as causal courses or psychological facts are not, per se, components of criminal behavior. They do so as symbol carriers. (4) Imputation begins with the distribution of competence between the offender, the victim, and third parties. (5) The so-called subjective imputation proves itself to be more a specified-personal imputation. It’s an imputation which focuses on the law-abiding citizen as a criterion person. (6) The science of criminal law arises from the distinction between meaning (culpability) and nature. Every single dogmatic concept can be traced to this distinction. The sanction contradicts the meaning of the criminal act (the norm isn’t valid). Meaningless, blameless behaviors should not (cannot) be contradicted.
