ABSTRACTThis study aims to look at bullying behavior that occurs in elementary schools and how the pattern of handling it by the parties involved in it. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. Each variable uses a measuring instrument in the form of a scale made for each variable. The age level and background of the subject will also be the limitations that will be carried out in taking information. This study involved 75 students who were sampled from grades 4 to 6. Bullying behavior that occurred in elementary schools was still dominated by physical bullying (48.56%), followed by verbal bullying (26.28%), ostracism (12.10%), cyberbullying (5.2%), and sexual harassment (7.05%). Bullying behavior is only considered normal delinquent behavior so that no serious action is taken by the school, especially teachers so that there is no specific handling of bullyingKeywords: Bullying, Elementary school  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perilaku bullying yang terjadi di sekolah dasar dan bagaimana pola penanganannya oleh pihak yang terkait didalamnya.

Abstract. The Sociomoral Reflection Measure – Short Form Objective (SRM-SFO) aims to assess the reasoning and valuing components of moral judgment. A new index for measuring moral reasoning is introduced. The first study assessed construct validity by examining the structure and invariance of moral reasoning and moral value evaluation in community adolescents and adults from The Netherlands ( N = 1,583). Factor analyses supported the unidimensionality of both components. Measurement invariance was found across age groups, gender, and educational levels. Convergent validity was supported by positive relationships between moral reasoning and age in males and between moral reasoning and higher educational levels. Divergent validity was supported by the weak relationship of both components with social desirability and their negative relationship with self-centered orientation and self-reported antisocial/delinquent behavior. The second study included incarcerated juvenile delinquents ( N = 246). Measurement invariance was found for both components across delinquency groups. Furthermore, community participants reporting no antisocial/delinquent behavior showed higher levels on both components than community participants reporting antisocial/delinquent behavior and juvenile delinquents. The SRM-SFO provides acceptable to good psychometric properties for assessing the reasoning and valuing components of moral judgment. Its practical benefits support its use in large-scale research from young adolescence onward.

A growing body of research documents that bullying victimization is associated with delinquent behavior. There is an increasing need to better illuminate the factors that might moderate this relationship. This study examined whether the motivation to move out of low-resourced neighborhoods and sexual orientation/gender identity moderated the relationship between bullying victimization and delinquent behavior among a sample of 450 heterosexual and 91 non-heterosexual/cisgender African American youths. Measures considered were bullying victimization, delinquent behavior, sexual orientation/gender identity, motivation to move out, and family demographics. Sexual orientation/gender identity was not associated with youth delinquent behavior after controlling for covariates. Being motivated to move out moderated the association between bullying victimization and delinquent behavior. Sexual orientation/gender identity and being motivated to move out of low-resourced communities jointly contributed to the moderating effect between bullying victimization and delinquent behavior. For non-heterosexual/cisgender youth, bullying victimization is correlated with increased delinquent behavior for those with low motivation to move out of their communities compared with those with an average or higher level of motivation to stay. However, such a moderating effect was not shown for heterosexual youth.

Substance use and delinquent behavior like theft, violence and unacceptable sexual behavior is often mentioned in the same breath. The prevalence of substance use is higher in forensic populations and Tbs-populations (a Dutch forensic psychiatric hospital) compared to the general population. Nevertheless, there is still much unknown about the relation between substance use and criminal behavior and the literature at hand seems to be insufficient for a complex Tbs-population. The main goal of the study is to give an overview of existing literature about (poly)substance use and criminal behavior exposing gaps in knowledge. A scoping review is conducted in this context. After setting inclusion and exclusion criteria literature was screened in three steps; based on title, abstract and full-text. This resulted in 299 articles relevant for further synthesis. Results show that partner violence, property, violent, and unspecified crimes are the most researched criminal behavior in the literature. Most common substances are alcohol, cannabis, cocaine and heroin. Polysubstance use is found in a quarter of the studies and is often unspecified, if specified it mainly contains combinations of alcohol with other substances. There seem to be different reasons for existing knowledge gaps; some substances are more logic with criminal behavior.; some criminal behavior is less common. It turns out that the that the majority of the literature is about alcohol and cannabis what possibly comes at the cost of research about other substances.

Recently, scholars have reintroduced a Latinx general strain theory in which it is suggested that ethnic-specific strains, including acculturation, are driving forces for criminal and delinquent behaviors among the Latinx population. Using data collected from the Dating Violence Among Latino Adolescents (DAVILA) Study, this study investigated whether these ethnic strains influenced delinquency differently based on the respondent's gender. Results indicate that boys engaged in more delinquent behaviors than girls, whereas girls were more acculturated than boys. Depression, anxiety, and social support were more prevalent among girls than among boys. In addition, girls were more likely to be enculturated and perform better in school than boys. Acculturation did not significantly predict delinquency for either boys or girls. In contrast, polyvictimization was the only variable to consistently predict delinquency among boys and girls. Results provided partial support for the hypotheses, in that, while depression and anxiety varied by gender as predicted by the gendered general strain theory, the ethnic-specific strain of acculturation failed to predict delinquent behavior in this sample. Ultimately, this study highlights the need to examine other ethnic-specific strains to better understand delinquent behavior among Latinx youth.

Introduction. The topicality of the research is caused by both traditions of the scientific research of pedagogical social perception and extremely high degree of attention on the side of political, professional and expert community to the problem of education. The pedagogical study of aggression plays an important role in understanding of the strategy for developing programs of improving professional competence of pedagogues and specialists in the sphere of prevention of juvenile delinquent behavior. Aim. Some research problems were examined in order to find the answers to the following problems: the facts that prove aggressive juvenile delinquent behavior, the reasons of juvenile behavior, the reaction of pedagogues on conflict situations and their emotions when they confront situations of aggressive behavior. Methodology and methods. In the process of research different methods were used such as psychological tests, different types of questionnaires and others. More than 13000 of pedagogues from six federal districts participated in the project “Pedagogue as a subject of upbringing of the youth and prevention of delinquent behavior”. The results. Data are given about the fact that pedagogues consider depressed state and aggressive behavior of the child to be the testimony of aggressive behavior of adults towards the child. Boys are more inclined to be aggressive, while the girls try not to show obviously their aggressive behavior. Children from troubled and incomplete families are more aggressive. Attention is drawn to the fact that the main risks of aggressive behavior of juveniles are in the families where the parents are indifferent to the child, do not pay attention to him or her or their requirements are contradictory. The research showed that pedagogues feel trouble, anxiety and fear when they come across conflict situations between the pupils. Practical significance. The results of the research are very important both in the context of improving the programs for pedagogues and psychologists in the sphere of juvenile deviant and antisocial behavior prevention and in the context of educational and youth policy and its tasks.

Although ample evidence demonstrates parental influences on delinquent behavior in adolescent years, few studies have examined how change in adolescent delinquency and change in parental behavior are related to each other, particularly in late adolescence. This study utilized survey data collected over three high school years (N = 3074 Grade 10 students; mean age = 15.57, SD = 0.74 at Time 1) to examine how change trajectory of adolescent-reported delinquency is related to change trajectory of adolescent perceived parental behavioral and psychological control using parallel process growth curve modeling. Results revealed that adolescent delinquency level was negatively associated with both parents’ behavioral control and positively associated with parents’ psychological control at Time 1 (Grade 10). However, adolescent delinquency increased in parallel with decreased parental behavioral control, but not a change in psychological control. Initial paternal behavioral control positively predicted a linear increase slope of adolescent delinquency while initial adolescent delinquency level also positively predicted a linear decrease slope of paternal behavioral control. These results highlight the parallel development of parents’ behavioral control and children’s delinquent behavior and delineate the reciprocal influence between paternal behavioral control and adolescent children’s delinquency.

Several criminological theories and numerous research studies suggest that criminal attitudes are related to delinquency and criminal behavior. In contrast, there is also an emerging body of literature that suggests that the behavior of many individuals is not consistent with their attitudes. This study addresses this contradiction in the literature by examining two possible individual-level moderators (i.e., self-control and depressive symptoms) that may explain why some adolescents may be involved in delinquent behavior when they report having attitudes disapproving of delinquency. The findings reveal that attitudes disapproving of delinquency are negatively associated with delinquent involvement; however, many respondents with attitudes of disapproving of delinquency still engaged in delinquent behavior. In addition, the findings suggest that self-control and depressive symptoms may moderate the association between attitudes disapproving of delinquency and delinquent involvement.

The article discusses the reasons and motives for the use of psychoactive substances, as well as the correlation of their premises – as included in the two spectra: objective and subjective. Basis for analysis of theoretical research and empirical research within the project „Social and pedagogical aspects of the problem of use of psychoactive substances“, under the fund „Scientific Research“ at Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ for 2021. The issues are related to the curriculum of academic disciplines for the training of specialists in the prevention of deviant and delinquent behavior. Considering the causes and motives in their depth and relevance, including related to the recent pandemic conditions, allows to enrich this content – by raising awareness of the problem, the challenges of socio-pedagogical work and guidelines for prevention and mitigation of the consequences of use and abuse of surfactants.

The problem of the reflection of prevention and correction of deviant and delinquent behaviour in art is not new, but it is contemporary and insufficiently researched in Bulgaria. In order to clarify and expand the competencies of students in the Faculty of Education of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” prepared to work in the field of prevention and correction of behaviour deviating from the moral and legal norms, a task is set for the analysis of an artwork that interprets the problem of deviant and delinquent behaviour. An algorithm for artwork analysing related to the problem of deviant and delinquent behaviour and their prevention is proposed. An assessment of the students' analyses based on the taxonomies of V. Belspalko and B. Bloom is presented.
