Globalization has meant that the world is simply becoming smaller and more connected. This comes at a cost – that is there is also a risk that globalization has adverse effects when countries use it to spread their agenda through soft power diplomacy. Through qualitative descriptive method, this paper aims to examine to what extent the young generation can be taught to be more selective in grappling with the abundant information, especially information related to soft power diplomacy in the midst of globalization through online/social media literacy.

This article investigated about semiotic that found in instagram logo. This article used Instagram, because many people nowadays used Instagram to express theirselves.  The aim of this study is to find out the connotative and denotative meaning through the instagram. The researcher used John theory to reveal this study. In this research, the researcher applies the qualitative descriptive method. The method of collecting data is observation. The steps are choosing the logo that would be analyzed. The result is there are twelve data that has meaning from different logo on Instagram. They all have different functions based on the logo. The conclusion is Instagram as a social media app that allows users to share photos and videos, add captions, edit filters, engage with others, and explore the world by using this application.

<p>Indonesia is a multicultural country that has various ethnicities, races, religions and cultures. However, the sense of mutual respect, respect and tolerance among Indonesians is now starting to diminish. This is of course a threat in itself for the Indonesian people, especially it will have an impact on the characteristics of the younger generation as the next generation who will determine the fate of the Indonesian people in the eyes of the world. Therefore, education is the main solution in dealing with these problems. Through multicultural education in history learning given in schools, it is hoped that a young generation of Indonesian character will emerge with character in order to increase the competitiveness of the Indonesian nation. This writing method uses a qualitative descriptive method. This writing aims to provide an idea or a new concept in the field of education, especially multicultural education in history learning in schools as an effort to strengthen the character of the nation. The conclusion of this writing is that through multicultural education in history learning, later we will have a young generation with character and uphold multicultural values. It is hoped that with this, the younger generation can be useful and participate in the efforts of the Indonesian people to face global competition in the international world.</p>

This research aimed to discuss the topic of patriarchal research because it still existed in several countries in the world, especially Asia and more specifically, in Indonesia. This research was conducted to reveal how patriarchal values were reflected in Indonesian children’s folk tales from Sumatra Island. This research used a sociological approach to literature and used semiotic theory to analyze the data obtained. The researcher chose to use a qualitative descriptive method so that the analysis process could be described completely. The main data used in this research are several children’s folk tales originating from Sumatra Island, namely Province of North Sumatra (“Di Balik Derita Si Boru Tombaga”, “Bohong Merinang”, and “Si Kodok Kata Malem, Baik Budi Penawan Hati”), South Sumatra (“Langkuse dan Putri Rambut Putih”), and Jambi (“Legenda Bukit Perak”). This research finds that patriarchal values are represented in how women are associated with domestic works, women are considered as the subordinates and inferiors, as well as showing their dependence on men.

It is a fact that language is dynamic, and nothing can not stop it from changing. This dynamism has implications for the use of various languages among Indonesians. The youth mostly uses it because they are active and massive users of technology and social media. This research aims to describe the form and character of the linguistic variation of slang which is popularly used by the millennial generation. In this study, data is taken from social media, and direct informants then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that four types of linguistic variation of slang which is popularly used by the millennial generation such phonology (32,29%), morphology (22,92%), syntax (4,17%), and semantics aspect (40, 63%). Based on the results, the millennial generation’s most dominant type of semantics aspect with 39 data (40, 63%). It means that millennials preferred using more slang utterances modified in semantic elements. Millennials did not completely change or create many new meanings. They retained the meanings of existing references only in the forms of new terms.

Social media today is a medium that many access by almost all levels of society in Indonesia. This is because almost all levels of society can easily access social media. Ease in social media makes all the people of Indonesia easy to receive information from all over Indonesia and the world. Ease in accessing social media and the opening of information gates through social media encourages the birth of irresponsible elements by disseminating information that is inconsistent with the reality. The issue is growing rapidly among the people of Indonesia, it is given the lack of selective and critical attitude of the people of Indonesia in receiving information contained in social media. Negative impacts that may arise may arise related to selective and critical attitude in receiving information on social media is the diminution of national resilience values. The above issues become the basis of reference for authors in compiling this article. It uses the descriptive method of analysis by using an understanding that Prof. Driyakarna is theoretical educational science. It is expected to encourage Indonesian people to be more selective and critical of information spread across various social media. Internet in Indonesia currently is growing rapidly and become the primary needs for its users, the development of social media has also become one of the important factors in the amount of internet users in this country.The aim of this research is to know the application and explaination of online promotion through observation and empiric study in Inspired27. The approach used in this research is Theory of Internet base promotion mix. Qualitative descriptive method is used as the means of analysis in order to get systematical picture of the fact which is actual, accurate regarding the object of analysis. The result shows that Inspired27 has applied online promotion to help the sales. Inspired27 use various online promotions such as website and social media. But they have no research team and division that specifically handle online promotion thus the implication is less maximum.

Art has opened the eyes of the world throught literary works that record the history of a writing. Also the subject of women’s affairs is subject to an author’s reference to the problem of a sense of injustice. Such views have been discussed to voice gender equality and to seek efforts to overcome those problems. Nadia’s asthma is one of the authors who attempt to awaken women to the patriarchate system that has been going on. His works consistently incorporate such universal values as equality in various fields, human freedom, and tolerance so that his readers can adopt the value of life. In addition, she was actively involved in social media as a means of channeling her mind. The twitter feed says some of the people were repressed. Seeing the account encourage him to make a book and then be poured into a storybook of several different stories and in which one of the women’s true account t with the tittle of a jealous heart note. The study used qualitative descriptive methods with the theory of feminist literary criticism.

Abstrak:Media massa mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, selain menyampaikan informasi kepada masyarakat media juga memiliki tugas mendidik publik melalui literasi media. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peranan program reporter on campus dalam upaya menumbuhkembangkan literasi media khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program reporter on campus sangat menunjang kemampuan mahasiswa baik dalam aspek teoritis maupun aplikatif.Kata Kunci: Radio, Reporter on Campus, Mahasiswa JurnalistikAbstract: The mass media experienced development fastly, in addition to conveying information to the media community also had the task of educating the public through media literacy. Using qualitative descriptive method, this study aims to see the role of on campus reporter program in an effort to develop media literacy, especially among students. Indonesian people in the conversation using English in many ways, such as face to face and social media. The purpose of this research is to identify students' online interactive communication in their blog's comment. It focuses among students as Indonesian EFL students in Morphology class in Universitas Lancang Kuning (Unilak). This study also eager to know what type of language function and phase of knowledge construction on students blogging activities on selected IT platform classroom, i.e. Morphology course. The method employ in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. This study did take the comments' blog of all students in Morphology class. Then This study analyzed those comments. The result of this research, students, showing some dominant type in Knowledge Construction, i.e., Sharing and Comparing of opinion in Blog The present study also reveals the use of Expressing and Supporting Opinions as the dominant types in Language Function.
