Whole sample was collected from different schools of Karachi, Pakistan with the help of convenient sampling technique. First, the confidentiality about the participants demographic information was assured after that about the purpose and procedure of research explained to participants. The participants who given consent of participation in research, the demographic form, Urdu version of Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965), and Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue) (K.V. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of instruction through debate on the male and female EFL learners’ reading comprehension, and to examine the difference between male and female EFL learners’ perception towards instructing critical thinking (CT) through debate. 88 learners, out of 120, were selected through convenience sampling method. Using a quantitative research method with experimental pre-and post-tests design, this study consisted of 44 participants in the experimental group and 44 participants in the control group. The experimental group received some treatment in the form of “the Meeting-House Debate” strategy, while the control group received no such treatment. After one month and a half treatment of experimental group, both groups participated in the post-test. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics procedures. Findings showed that the debate strategy had statistically significant effect on the students’ reading comprehension. Also, results revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female EFL learners’ perception towards instructing CT through debate. It was concluded that instructing CT skills through debate strategy resulted in better understanding of reading texts.

The study aimed to explore head teachers’ perceptions regarding their role in educational and administrative decision making in schools at secondary level. The role of head teacher in school administration is very important thus the researchers tend to study head teachers’ perceptions regarding their role in such matters. In Pakistan public schools are administered through a strong hierarchal administrative system but the head teachers are responsible for day to day matters so it is important to study their perceived role in administration. Quantitative research method was used and survey research technique was applied to collect the data. Self-reported questionnaire was used as a tool of data collection. Multi stage sampling technique was used and sample was selected conveniently. Mean score for each statement was calculated and t test was applied to find out the difference in perception on the basis of different demographical variables. No significant difference was found in the head teachers’ perceptions regarding their role.

Structure of the family is one of the factors that builds the independence of adolescents. Nowadays, it is uncommon to find families that are not united due to divorcement. The condition where families are no longer united (single parent) will affect the independence of adolescents. Independence of adolescence is the ability to organize behavior and decision without being dependent on parents (Steinberg, 2002). The purpose of this research is to see the difference of independence between senior high school adolescents with single mother and adolescents with single father due to divorcement.   A total of 64 senior high school adolescents in Bali in aged 15-18 years who have single parents due to divorcement were included as subjects in this quantitative research, with comparison approach. The sampling technique that was used in this research was cluster sampling. Measuring instrument used in this research was Independence Scale (34 item, rxx=0.889). The statistical technique used to process the data of this study is a parametric test of independent t-test.   Based on the outcome of this research, it appears that there is no significant difference between the independence of senior high school adolescents with a single father nor single mother due to divorcement (t=1.212) with p equal to 0,230 (p>0,05).   Keyword: Autonomy of Adolescence, single father, single mother.

The researcher used a quantitative research method with one-group pretest posttest design. This group received some treatment in the form of “the Meeting-House Debate” strategy. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result showed that there was no significant difference in the performance of males and females on the sub-scales measured; i.e. evaluation, analysis, inference, deductive reasoning, and inductive reasoning. It was concluded that gender did not have a significant effect on the students’ critical thinking skills.

In a typical science curriculum with different scientific disciplines (Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Earth Sciences) taught in every quarter, it is important to determine the difference in the performance of students under each discipline.  In this study, the comparison of quarterly performance in Science of Grade 7 Students was examined. Wherein, the consolidated quarterly grades in science from the previous school year (June 2018 - April 2019) from five sections with a total of 272 male and female grade 7 students were used as data. It employed a quantitative research design using a One-way Analysis of Variance ( ANOVA) to determine the significant difference in the mean grades per quarter. Additionally, an interview with the science teachers who handled the samples was conducted to gather qualitative data to further explain the results. The results of this study revealed a mean of 83.50 from the combined grades in the second quarter which is the lowest among the four quarters. However, the results from ANOVA  generated a significance of .123 (p≥.05) which means that there is no significant difference between the grades in the first, second, third and fourth quarter.

ERQ measures two aspects that are specific strategies of emotional regulation, namely: reappraisal and suppression.Hypothesis testing uses one-way anova. The results showed that there are significant differences of reappraisal emotion regulation in single, married, and divorced teachers (p < α ; 0,034 < 0,05). Whereas suppression emotion regulation is no significant difference in single, married, and divorced teachers (p > α ; 0,171 > 0,05).
