Introduction: Receiving social support can result in a better job performance. For this reason, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between social support and job performance of social workers in Tehran. Methods: The statistical population included all social workers working in Tehran. For this purpose, 325 social workers in Tehran in 2017 were selected and studied by non probability convenience sampling and Cochran's formula. Phillips Social Support Inventory (PSSI) and Patterson Job Performance (JPQ) were used for data collection. In order to analyze the data, the correlation coefficient test, independent t-test, and multivariate regression were used. Results: The results indicated a positive correlation between all components of social support (family members’ support, friends’ support, and the others’ support) and job performance among social workers (P < 0.01). Regression analysis showed that it is only the others’ support which can predict changes in job performance (P < 0.01). Other results indicated that female and older social workers had a better job performance than male and younger social workers. Conclusion: Receiving enough social support puts the job performance of social workers in a desriable place and thus provides better quality services.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore how the relationship between job scope and in-role performance is contingent upon the level of social support (i.e. supervisor support) received in the workplace. Design/methodology/approach A total of 640 questionnaires were distributed to employees of Pakistani companies, yielding 328 useable responses for analysis. Regression analysis was used to test for both hypotheses. Findings The results support the role of supervisor support as a moderator in the relationship between in-role performance, a dimension of job performance and job scope. The findings show that a higher job scope would facilitate higher job performance from employees who receive high levels of supervisor support. Practical implications The results provide useful insights for managers and consultants, especially HR professionals involved in job design and redesign. Organizations that encourage high levels of social support can help employees improve their job performance as they foster an environment where employees can get direct assistance and advice from their supervisors. Originality/value This paper makes three key contributions to the literature on job design. First, this inquiry shows that a strong link does exist between job scope and job performance; previous studies have failed to find a strong relationship. Second, it highlights how social context, especially in highly challenging work settings, can shape employees’ proficiencies and behaviors. Third, this paper offers a novel perspective in job design research by incorporating a contextual moderator (i.e. supervisor support).

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the multimodal literacy of pre-service teachers and their perception of self-efficacy in critical reading. At the same time, it is to what extent their multimodal literacy levels predict their perception of self-efficacy in critical reading. 337 students were chosen via convenience sampling for this study which was designed on the basis of relational survey model. The data which is needed to answer the relevant questions in our study was collected by means of Multimodal Literacy Scale (Bulut, Ulu and Kan, 2015) and Critical Reading Self-Sufficiency Perception Scale (Karadeniz, 2014). The analyses of the data collected were conducted through Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis technique and multiple regression analysis technique. In view of the results we have obtained in this study, multimodalness is a strong predictive of self-efficacy perception in critical reading (R=.517; R2=.267) [F(3.336)=40.483, p˂.000). The dimension of expressing oneself using multimodal structures (r=.362), interpretation of the contents presented in multimodal structures (r=.466) and preferring multimodal structures (r=.209) has a positive and significant effect on critical reading self-efficacy perception.

The chief aim of this article is to examine the emotional intelligence (EI) and personality traits as the predictors of job performance of IT employees in India. To obtain this, the data was collected from 158 middle management employees working in Indian IT sector through random sampling method with the help of three scales such as DKEIT, JPI, and MPI. After data collection, the study carried out a different statistical analysis which includes frequency, correlation and regression analysis through SPSS 23.0 version. The study findings reported that both EI and Personality Traits impact the performance of job of IT employees, i.e. both Personality Traits and EI operate as a predictor of Job Performance of Indian IT employees. Based on which, the article gives few recommendations to future researchers.

Abstract The present study examined the relationship between future orientation and fibromyalgia-related pain severity in a sample of 287 adults with fibromyalgia. Specifically, authors examined dimensions of self-compassion (for example, self-kindness, isolation, mindfulness) as possible mechanisms through which future orientation might be associated with pain severity. Results of conducting a multiple mediator test with 10,000 bootstraps indicated that the significant negative association between future orientation and pain severity was mediated through one specific self-compassion dimension, namely, isolation. The article concludes with a discussion of the implications of the present findings for working with fibromyalgia patients, specifically the potential value of social workers working with fibromyalgia patients to build future orientation as a resilience factor to combat pain severity. Also discussed is the value of working with patients to develop a sustainable social support system that can disrupt experiences of social isolation and disconnectedness from others, and which appear to contribute to greater pain severity.

Studying the factors affecting the income of Vietnamese peasants: A case in Tra Vinh province, by data collection method of 170 peasants’ households in 4 districts: Cau Ngang, Cang Long, Chau Thanh and Tieu Can in Tra Vinh province, Vietnam. The authors use multivariate regression analysis method. The study has found the factors such as gender of households’s heads, ages of households’ heads, education levels, the number of family members, dependency rates, application of technical advances, production areas affecting the income of peasants in these areas. Since then, the study has implied a policy to improve the income of peasants. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the intensity of watchingviolent footage and frustration level towards player’s aggression. The design of the study is using aquantitative approach. The population of the research is the futsal players in the league who playedin GOR Mangga Dua Surabaya. Samples were taken by accidental sampling technique for 77respondents. Data collection uses psychological scale of intensity of watching violence footagevariable, frustration variable and aggression variable scale using in a questionnaire. Collected databeing analyzed using IBM SPSS 20 for Macbook. Regression analysis results of this study indicatethe simultaneous relationship between intensity of watching violence footage and frustration againstaggression. The partial analysis shows that the intensity of watching violent footage has a positivecorrelation with aggression. The effective contribution of 17.2% showed a significant relationship.Other factors influencing aggression is temperature, poverty, provocation and anger. Based onthese results, researcher suggested for coaches who wishes their player’s aggression is controllableto have a different coaching method for the player to have emotion composure. Government shouldcome up with a new regulation for television broadcasting related to violent footageKeywords : aggression, intensity of watching violence footage, frustration

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of social capital on 15-to-19-year-old juveniles’ delinquency. Regarding this objective, Yang internet addiction questionnaire (1996) was used to collect the data. This questionnaire contains 20questions classified in some groups. Results of Multivariate Regression Analysis for explaining delinquency indicate that among the variables selected in the analytical model of this study, 5 factors(religious life style, modern life style (friends network), family control, communications (the relationship between social capital and the groups), the respondents’ fathers’ income) have had a significant effect on delinquency and have remained in the equation. After entering these five variables, the entry of new variables have been stopped. In fact, these five variables totally explain 36/1% changes of the dependent variable (delinquency.

Keywords: delinquency, Social Capital
