This chapter examines the ways in which the policy language of radicalization contributes to the securitization of the university campus. It addresses the phenomenon of ‘radicalization,’ not as a process of identity transformation but as a discursive element of campus life that refracts wider perceptions of risk and risky identities. The chapter offers a critical engagement with the UK Government’s Prevent Strategy, building on previous scholarship in highlighting the importance of addressing the social contexts of policy implementation. The remainder of the chapter analyses evidence gathered from across our six case study campuses, tracing how perceptions of Islam and Muslims are framed by the idea of ‘radicalization’, particularly via a heightened anxiety and suspicion about extremism and a complex stigmatization of Muslims. It considers institutional variations of these patterns, including among Muslim colleges, before commenting on how the emergent picture speaks to current sociological debates about surveillance.

Campaigns nowadays are oftenly carried through social medias, including campaigns concerning the environment. Based on previous studies, effectivity of campaigns through social medias were affected by many factors, such as the activity of the online administrator, additional socialization that were carried off- line, and also the involvement of the active followers in social medias. However, this paper views environmental campaign in social medias could be effective if viewed from another side, that is social network. This study sees how social network can improve the effectivity of environmental campaigns in social medias, therefore it’s safe to say that this study brings an addition to previous studies related tofactors that influenced the effectivity of environmental campaigns that utilized social medias as a channel of communication. The method used for this paper is qualitative method, with case study on Melawan Asap (Fight the Haze) campaign initiated by BEM UI (Executive Board of Students of University of Indonesia) in 2015 to form an alliance consisting several organizations from inside and outside of the university. Collection of data for this study was done with in-depth interviews with certain informants, based on a criteria established previously by the author, beside an observation upon social media accounts that were used for Fight the Haze campaign. The result shows that the involvement of networks in social media affects the effectivity of Fight the Haze campaign. Also, the social relation between organizations that are united under the alliance of Fight the Haze campaign are based on sentimental network.

On-campus retailing is a spread practice, but academia has almost underestimated its potential. Nevertheless, not every type of retail activity adds value to customers and society. When the proposed value is society-driven and sensitive to consumers' wellbeing, customers' engagement increases. One business model, through which it is possible to exploit the benefits of on-campus retailing by adding social value, is the Yunus Social Business. This is a case-based study aiming to describe, through the Social Business Model Canvas, the founding of an organic shop within a university that is supplied by administrative staff of the university that are at the same time also local farmers. Further, the shop aims to resell organic food to university staff and students. The case study is theoretically enriched by traditional Porterian frameworks and new service frameworks such as the service-dominant logic by emphasizing the role of value proposition, value co-creation, and value-in-context.

*****Spatial orientation process is related to the cognitive, perceptual and behavioral process that a person goes through to find his way from the starting point to his final destination. By understanding that the environment is not always adequate and contributes to decision making during this process, this research aims to evaluate the spatial orientation and wayfinding strategies of students on the campus of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis/SC, from a pre-established route. Two research methods were selected. The first consisted of the production of Mind Maps on the university campus by the research participants, and the second, the application of the Accompanied Stroll method. Along the way, the participants found it difficult to find the final destination, demonstrating that the graphic resources were not available in strategic locations, and the quantify/quality of current resources is insufficient. At the end, some recommendations are proposed – spatial – that improve the displacement of users on the university campus.

In this paper, xyzw model is introduced which characterizes the solid waste generated by the four departments in the university. Thus, the refuse on the street x, in the gutters y, in the dustbins z and dumpsite w. From the qualitative analysis of xyzw model, it revealed that the refuse in these departments piles up as the time increases indefinitely. Based on the analysis of data from the KNUST campus the refuse keeps on piling up. This reveals that the trucks are not able to adequately carry refuse from three departments: street, gutters and dustbins to the dumpsite as expected by the university authority. This comes as a result of overflows from the dustbins at some vantage points in the university. In practice, the waste in gutters and on street are collected and deposit it in these dustbins (with varying volumes) everyday, but the trucks are not able to convey all the quantum of waste in these dustbins to the dumpsite thereby resulting in refuse pile up on campus of the university
