This paper discusses the opportunities and challenges of trade in the rantau Pariaman area during the XIX century because this area was once known as a successful trading community that cannot be matched by its current society. The method used is historical research methods with data techniques through literature study. The success that was obtained was due to the fact that in the region's position it was an important route for world trade, the people were also able to take advantage of opportunities that could facilitate and facilitate them to achieve success during the colonial period. An elite group consisting of village officials and traditional leaders in the Netherlands as regulators in running the government. In addition, the people were able to make local products such as sea fish, salt, and coconut products that were very popular at that time. If viewed from the conditions at that time there were not a few challenges in the community in carrying out trading activities. The condition of the government was not friendly to the interests of the lower class people which resulted in frequent riots with the Dutch, because the people were not satisfied with the Dutch actions that always interfered in their affairs. In addition, the development of transportation tools such as trains and sailboats has made the Pariaman area market less crowded with outside traders and added to the absence of regeneration that can pass on the trade knowledge so that there is no more professional next generation of traders.

Palabras clave: género, historia de Colombia, mujeres, bicentenario, Colonia, siglo XIX, siglo XX.Women in Some Trends in Historical Research in Contemporary Colombia. On the Occasion of the Bicentennial CelebrationAbstract: This paper looks into new perspectives in historical research opposed to androcentric traditions that place adult males as history’s privileged subject, exploring papers presented in the track on “Family, Women and Sexualities in Nueva Granada and Colombia” of the 15th Congress of History, on the Bicentennial of Colombian Independence. This track centered on gender, a category defi ned on relational terms, which has allowed for new interpretations of the social and cultural construction  of the differences between men and women in historical processes, with attention to the contribution made by the use of the category in questioning the public/private dichotomy, since marriage, family home, intimacy and sexuality are projected as political issues. Research carried out about the representations of historical heroine Policarpa Solavarrieta is examined, and then three papers about women in colonial times in Nueva Granada, in the provinces of Antioquia, Santa Fe and the city of Cali, are summarized. With regard to the second half of the XIX Century, two research projects are presented about the tensions in the production of legal, political and literal discourse, especially looking to the construction of gender differences when the Colombian nation state was being formed. They deal with the Sovereign State of Bolivar and the imagined relation between the capital of the Republic with the “hot-weather lands.” Finally, in what pertains to the XX Century, two papers are reviewed dealing with how migrations in the Santander and Caribbean regions affected women; a third one deals with women university students and their activism, form which springs autonomous feminism in the 60s, specifi cally at the University of Antioquia in Medellín.Key Words: gender, Colombian history, women, bicentennial, Colonial times, XIX Century, XX Century

Abstract: A series of imperial decrees of the 1820s ordering the establishment of a Greco-Uniate Theological Collegium and appropriate consistories contributed to the spread of the autocratic synodal system of government and the establishment of control over Greek Uniate church institutions in the annexed territories of Right-Bank Ukraine. As a result, the Greco-Uniate Church was put on hold in favor of the government's favorable grounds for the rapid localization of its activities. Basilian accusations of supporting the Polish November Uprising of 1830-1831 made it possible to liquidate the OSBM and most monasteries. The transfer of the Pochaiv Monastery to the ownership of the Orthodox clergy in 1831 was a milestone in the liquidation of the Greco-Uniate Church and the establishment of a Russian-style Orthodox mono-confessionalism. On the basis of archival documents, the political motivation of the emperor's decree to confiscate the Pochayiv Monastery from the Basilians with all its property and capital was confirmed. The transfer to the category of monasteries of the 1st class and the granting of the status of a lavra indicated its special role in strengthening the position of the autocracy in the western region of the Russian Empire. The orders of the Holy Synod outline the key tasks of ensuring the viability of the Lavra as an Orthodox religious center: the introduction of continuous worship, strengthening the personal composition of the population, delimitation of spiritual responsibilities, clarifying the affiliation of the printing house. However, maintaining the rhythm of worship and financial and economic activities established by the Basilians proved to be a difficult task, the solution of which required ten years of hard work. In order to make quick changes in the monastery, decisions were made by the emperor and senior government officials, and government agencies were involved at the local level, which required the coordination of actions of all parties to the process.

The paper deals with the problem of the establishment of capitalism in Russia in the late 19 - early 20th centuries. Using a wide array of historical research and documents the author argues that the thesis on the advanced state of capitalism in Russia in the beginning of the 20th century does not stand up to historical scrutiny, and the role of the famous Emancipation reform of 1861 appears to be of limited importance.
