The purpose of the study is to find out the opinions of head teachers and students on classroom factors that affect performance of students in integrated science at the Junior High Schools in Kumasi Metropolis. The study used a descriptive survey. The sampling procedure employed for the study was both random and purposive sampling. A sample of two hundred and twenty (220) subjects participated in the study. The instruments that were used in the study were questionnaire and interview schedule. It was found out that most of the students in the public schools have greater access to integrated science text books as against their private school counterparts. Supervision is regularly carried out in the private schools by the head teachers but not much can be seen at the public schools and this has the tendency of improving teaching and learning of science at the private school. It was recommended that effective supervision must be performed regularly by heads of schools during integrated science lessons.

As the effect of school closure following the coronavirus lockdowns, the use of virtual classrooms has extremely rocketed to replace face-to-face school interaction. This change has resulted in new habits and adaptation in methods and approaches of teaching, particularly in the era of post pandemic recovery. This study is based on the phenomena occurred in most of school environments where digital (online) teaching practices become a new habit for teachers and students. A question that may arise is “do they still prefer online after the pandemic?” Drawing on this issue, this study aims to examine the beliefs of Philippines junior high schools teachers on digital teaching competence and to explore their preferences on teaching methods (online or offline) in post pandemic recovery. This study utilized a discovery-oriented qualitative approach, bridging into personal narrative and ethnographic perspective by involving twelve teachers teaching at several junior high schools in Davao Philippines. The results revealed that the teachers’ beliefs mattered in terms of digital platforms (tools) and classroom activities. The results further depicted that their acquisition of digital teaching competence greatly depended on teacher professional development programs and individual trainings. Moreover, this study also discussed the teachers’ preferences on the model of teaching either online or offline after the schools is opened. The results of this study contribute to providing valuable insights into redefining the situation of teaching and learning process in the era of post pandemic recovery.

Many students have a low level of reading pleasure. This will have an impact on common science learning outcomes for students. Reading fondness has been known to improve students 'cognitive domains, what about students' attitudes, namely the affective domain? The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of reading fondness on attitudes in science subjects in junior high schools. The schools studied consisted of 1 private school and 2 public schools with a total sample of 411 students. The sampling technique was cluster sampling. The research method used is quantitative with simple linear regression analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. The instrument used was a valid and reliable questionnaire for reading fondness and attitudes towards science. The results of this study indicate that students' reading pleasure is in the good category, the attitude towards science is in the good category This research implies that students' reading habit has a positive influence on science.

The study explored Head teachers’ instructional supervisory role among public Junior High Schools in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region of Ghana. It adopted psychological and system theory of supervision propounded by Planturrroot (2006) and Bertalanffy (2015) respectively. The mixed method sequential approach was followed in the conduct of the study where both quantitative and qualitative data were collected and analysed. A sample size of 200 respondents made up of 40 head teachers, 80 teachers and 80 pupils were used for the quantitative data, whilst 10 head teachers were selected for the qualitative data. The Statistical Product for Service Solutions (SPSS) version 23 was used to analyse the quantitative data while thematic approach was used for the qualitative data. The findings of the study revealed in-frequent orientation for newly engaged teachers. It further showed lower ratings in the provision of in-service training, time tabling design and setting of performance target for pupils and teachers. It was recommended that the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service (GES) should regularly organize workshops, seminars and in-service trainings on supervisory roles of head teachers and assistant head teachers to equip them with the needed knowledge and skills in the municipality. Lastly, Heads of schools and other supervisors should re-design schools` time tables to suit the use of instructional time in the lesson of teachers to enhance their monitoring.

This design and development research aimed at designing and developing a culture-based English e-media to support the implementation of curriculum 2013 for the first semester of grade VII of junior high schools in Buleleng sub-district. This research focused on developing e-media that is integrated with Balinese culture. The object of this research was culture- based English e-media that was developed by using Adobe Flash CS6 program. The source of data was taken from the need analysis conducted by Dewi and Batan (2015), related literatures on developing the e-media, and the result of expert judgement. The data were analysed descriptively both qualitatively and quantitatively. This research was designed based on the adaptation of puffers et al.’s model (2007) that consisted of six phases namely: (1) identifying the problem, (2) describing the objective, (3) designing and developing the product, (4) testing the product by using expert judgement, (5) evaluating the testing result, and (6) communicating the testing result. The result of experts’ judgement score showed that the total mean score 3.8 which means the e-media had a good quality and it can be used in teaching and learning English for the first semester of grade VII of junior high schools in Buleleng.

Teaching skill had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be identified from the value of ry1 = 0.832 in the interval of 0.80 – 1.000 with very strong criteria. Working motivation had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be seen from the value of ry2 = 0.768 in the interval of 0.60 – 0.779 with strong criteria. There was a positive and significant correlation between teaching skill and motivation together with the working performance of IPS teachers. The result of double correlation testing shows that the correlation value (R) was 0.850 with p = 0.000. Those three factors are related to each other in supporting working performance. Key Words: Teaching Skill, Working Motivation and Working Performance.
