The current review article is based on the facts to reveal the biological potentials of the genus ledum, and specie palustre. Although in the article all the species are well described with their distribution in all over the world and their pharmacological activities are also discussed. Rhododendron tomantosum is also known as Marsh Tea or northern Labrador tea, which is an evergreen shrub having the height of about 40 cm and the plant has about ten species in all over the world. Article has very informative aspect regarding Hypouricemic Significance of Ledum palustre (L. palustre), its chemical compounds extracted and analyzed by different spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques to report the active principles from the oil of the Rhododendron tomantosum fresh leaves. The main active compounds were found are given as (41.0–43.4%) ledol (23.3–26.7%) and ascaridole (15.1–4.5%). L. palustre has a very significant role in the gout and arthritis occurs due the presence of high amount of uric acid in the blood plasma. Various dosage forms are mentioned in the review article to explore the potentials of the drug. Hence according to literature if L. palustre is significantly capable to reduce the high level of the uric acid if give in the potency if 30 c (diluted 30 times)) and 1 M ((1000 dilutions) to the patients, and may be a good alternative to the allopurinol. So, this drug is frequently used in the homeopathic system of medicine to get the hypouricemic significance in the human beings.

Abstract Throughout history, human beings have been affected by the ongoing events in their environment. While some of the events take place in the sphere they live on, some of them are in the way that events outside the earth affect the world. Necessary measures should be taken on time and in place so that people are not adversely affected or at least minimally affected by the aforementioned events. Geological hazards are the most important risks that occur in the environment of human beings and have a high probability of damaging people’s life and property. In terms of risk management of geological hazards, which are divided into four main groups as seismic, hydro-meteorological, terrain instability and volcanic hazard and have their own characteristics, the efforts to prevent and reduce losses for each of them also differ within themselves. In this review article, geological hazards were introduced in general by giving various examples from the world, the effects of geological disasters on the economy and production were discussed, and the points to be considered for each risk were tried to be emphasized.

Globally, elderly population keeps increasing in numbers. Since 2015, Asian countries including Indonesia began entering ageing population. Humankind predicted to live longer. Nonetheless, they are mortal. Humankind is called Dasein (being in the world). The world is a concept, relationship between ourselves and objects or other human beings. Basically Dasein is actively involved with everyday objects. The essence of Dasein is it's active interpreting (constantly something to be settled) seeing as Dasein cannot be considered a finished whole, Dasein always looking for identity. Dasein’s being as a whole can only be disclosed by Dasein being dead, for they no longer exist in the world. According to 2005 Stanford research, the majority of elderly prefer contributing to society, and 30% proven to do so. The latest stage of man emotional development experienced by elderly, individually older than the age 60. Interacting with the younger generation would result in greater contentment and benefits each other. By providing a space to encounter other people with different ages, hopefully there will be exchange of experience, a legacy of life. Through the Horizon Senior Society, millennial generations can explore a dwelling story from the past to the present and the future.  Keywords:  Elderly; Death; Interaction; Dwelling. Abstrak Secara global, populasi lansia diprediksi terus mengalami peningkatan. Sejak tahun 2015 Benua Asia dan Indonesia memasuki era penduduk menua. Diprediksi manusia akan hidup lebih lama lagi. Manusia disebut sebagai Dasein (Ada-di-sana), yakni Ada-dalam-dunia (being-in-the-world).

A survey of aquatic Oligochaeta was conducted at Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Villupuram and Nilgiris districts of Tamil Nadu from October 2015 to June 2016. Eleven taxa were recorded from a total of 922 specimens examined, eight of them were identified to species level. Five naidids identified during the present study: Branchiodrilus semperi, Dero dorsalis, Dero digitata, Dero indica and Dero zeylanica, and six tubificid taxa Branchiura sowerbyi, Tubificidae sp. 1, Tubificidae sp. 2, Tubificidae sp. 3, Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri and L. udekemianus. Dero dorsalis constitute the first report for Kanchipuram district. A DNA barcode sequence (GenBank accession no. MF125273) of the commercially important Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, commonly known as ‘Tubifex worms’ in Chennai, was obtained and compared with other published COI sequences from that morphospecies from around the world.

Background. Nearly all of the research on sex differences in mass media utilization has been based on samples from the United States and a few other Western countries. Aim. The present study examines sex differences in mass media utilization in four Asian countries (Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore). Methods. College students self-reported the frequency with which they accessed the following five mass media outlets: television dramas, televised news and documentaries, music, newspapers and magazines, and the Internet. Results. Two significant sex differences were found when participants from the four countries were considered as a whole: Women watched television dramas more than did men; and in Japan, female students listened to music more than did their male counterparts. Limitations. A wider array of mass media outlets could have been explored. Conclusions. Findings were largely consistent with results from studies conducted elsewhere in the world, particularly regarding sex differences in television drama viewing. A neurohormonal evolutionary explanation is offered for the basic findings.

This paper shows how solidarity is one of the founding principles in Thomas More's Utopia (1516). In the fictional republic of Utopia described in Book II, solidarity has a political and a moral function. The principle is at the center of the communal organization of Utopian society, exemplified in a number of practices such as the sharing of farm work, the management of surplus crops, or the democratic elections of the governor and the priests. Not only does solidarity benefit the individual Utopian, but it is a prerequisite to ensure the prosperity of the island of Utopia and its moral preeminence over its neighboring countries. However, a limit to this principle is drawn when the republic of Utopia faces specific social difficulties, and also deals with the rest of the world. In order for the principle of solidarity to function perfectly, it is necessary to apply it exclusively within the island or the republic would be at risk. War is not out of the question then, and compassion does not apply to all human beings. This conception of solidarity, summed up as “Utopia first!,” could be dubbed a Machiavellian strategy, devised to ensure the durability of the republic. We will show how some of the recommendations of Realpolitik made by Machiavelli in The Prince (1532) correspond to the Utopian policy enforced to protect their commonwealth.

The article examines how selected works in Uganda’s first anthology of prison-authored work, As I Stood Dead before the World: Creative Writing from Luzira Prison (2018), handle one of the issues of paramount importance to inmates and their families: the possibility that convictions in courts of law are not foolproof since judicial officers are human beings and therefore susceptible to error. Drawing from four examples: two poems (Jackson O’s “Letter to Aber” and Sebuuma Gadafi’s “Twenty-Years”), one short story (Rachael Pearl Orishaba’s “A Secret”), and one short play (Jennifer Janette’s “What If It Wasn’t Kato?”), I show how different inmates imagine situations where judicial officers (prosecutors and magistrates/judges) make errors of judgement that see innocent people convicted of crimes they did not commit. The article closely reads the four selected pieces with the objective of investigating how creative writers can help judicial officers realise how important it is to turn every proverbial stone before a conviction is made.
