Abstract We report on the extinction properties in the fields around the clusters NGC 1854, NGC 1856, and NGC 1858 in the bar of the Large Magellanic Cloud. The color–magnitude diagrams of the stars in all these regions show an elongated red giant clump that reveals a variable amount of extinction across these fields, ranging from A V ≃ 0.2 to A V ≃ 1.9, including Galactic foreground extinction. The extinction properties nonetheless are remarkably uniform. The slope of the reddening vectors measured in the (V − I, V) and (B − I, B) color–magnitude planes is fully in line with the A V /E(B − V) ≃ 5.5 value found in the outskirts of 30 Dor. This indicates the presence of an additional gray extinction component in the optical requiring big grains to be about twice as abundant as in the diffuse Galactic interstellar medium (ISM). Areas of higher extinction appear to be systematically associated with regions of more intense star formation, as measured by the larger number of stars more massive than 8 M ⊙, thus making injection of big grains into the ISM by a SNII explosion the likely mechanism at the origin of the observed gray extinction component.

Lipoleiomyoma is a rare, benign lipoid tumor of the uterus. Histologically, these tumors are composed of variable amount of smooth muscles with lobules of adipocytes separated by thin brous tissue. They primarily occur in obese postmenopausal women and often remain asymptomatic. Imaging plays a crucial role in determining the intrauterine location along with the fatty component of these tumors. Treatment of these tumors depends on the extent and severity of the patient's symptoms. Hereby, we report a case of lipoleiomyoma in a 51-year-old woman with brief review of literature

The Drosophila melanogaster w1118 mutant line was used to identify the effect of deuterium (D) on DNA synthesis. D concentrations ranged from 30ppm to 96.89% (low and very high amount respec-tively). Five generations of flies were bred on culture media prepared with 6 concentrations of D. For each generation the DNA was analyzed, and its variability was established. The results showed a small involvement of D in the successive synthesis of nuclear DNA.

Abstract Background The purpose of the present study was to evaluate layered of satranidazole powder using natural polysaccharides as coating materials for colon targeting that were inexpensive and natural with a non-toxic nature using a composite response design of 3 levels and 2 factors for each of the four responses in the quadratic model. The independent variables were the ratio of coating consistency % (X1) and coating level % (X2) in the pellet. The dependent factors were % release of drug at 2 h. (Y1), % release of drug at 6 h. (Y2), % release of drug difference in presence & absence of colonic enzyme (Y3) and mean dissolution time (Y4). The various models were fitted for the responses with an explanation of suitable statistical methods. Variance analysis and different factor levels of responses were constructed by response surface plots. Results Satranidazole pellets were efficiently prepared by the variable amount of ingredients that showed compatibility with possible pellet characterization and drug dissolution profiles to optimize the formulation. Conclusions The strategy of response surface can be a successful tool for improving the prepared satranidazole pellets which can be an appropriate replacement of regular one.

Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the presence of a pancreatic tissue of variable amount which completely or partially obstructs the second part of duodenum. It usually affects infancy, but in adulthood it can mimic a wide range of clinical entity. Gastrojejunostomy or duodenojejunostomy are common operations in adults because the duodenum is less mobile. We report a case of annular pancreas in a 60-year-old male that presented with clinical condition of gastric outlet obstruction and was successfully treated with a laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy.

This study aims to determine (1) Does mudharabah savings have a significant effect on bank profits?  (2) Does musyarakah financing have a significant effect on bank profit?  (3) Do mudharabah savings and musyarakah financing together have a significant effect on bank profits?  The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regression with the total profit being the dependent variable and two independent variables, namely Mudharabah Savings and Musharaka Financing. The results of data processing have obtained a regression model Y = 36964 + 0.021X1 + -0.002X2.  The regression coefficient shows that if each mudharabah savings is 0.021 one unit, it is predicted that it will increase the amount of savings by 36964 units and vice versa.  The value of the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.564, this indicates that the mudharabah savings and musharaka financing variables contribute or influence 56% on the variable amount of profit.  Partially, the t test results indicate that each variable the amount of mudharabah savings has a significant effect on the amount of profit so that the hypothesis is accepted and the musyarakah financing has a significant negative effect on the amount of profit.  Simultaneously, the results of the F test show that together mudharabah savings and musyarakah financing have a significant effect on total profit so that the hypothesis is accepted.   Keywords: Mudharabah Savings, Musharaka Financing, Profit.

Salt demand is increasing along with population and industry growth. The imbalance between the amount of industrial salt production with the amount of industrial salt demand is a problem at this time, so to meet the demand for industrial salt, imports are needed. The objectives of this study are: (1) to know trends in the volume of Indonesian salt imports in 2019-2023, (2) to know the factors that influence the demand for industrial salt import volumes in Indonesia. The study uses time series data (2007-2018) which is processed and analyzed using trend analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the trend of industrial salt import volume in Indonesia during 2019-2023 was predicted to increase by 107,101 tons / year. The factors that significantly and positively affect the volume of industrial salt imports in Indonesia are the variable price of imported salt and the number of industries that use raw salt, while the variable amount of production, exchange rate and GDP growth in Indonesia per capita have no significant effect. Suggestions for reducing the rate of imports can be done by improving production technology, government policies related to international salt price stability and industrial salt import quotas.

Leprosy is a chronic granulomatous infection caused by mycobacterium leprae, mainly affecting the skin and peripheral nerve. Histoid type of leprosy, which is considered as an extremely rare variant of lepromatous leprosy. We report a case of a 50/year old male presented to our institute with chief complain of conjunctival swelling in both eyes, encroaching over cornea and involving limbus and sclera, associated with painless blurring of vision. An incisional biopsy of the right eye was performed under local anesthesia. Histopathology of right eye biopsy revealed spindle shaped cells having bland looking nuclei and variable amount of cytoplasm which was suggestive of histoid leprosy. A dermatology consultation was sought and patient was diagnosed to have leprosy. Consequent to which he was started on MBALD (multibacillary anti leprosy drug), and showed improvement in patient`s visual acuity as well as regression of right eye swelling and disappearance of left eye swelling.

Intra-osseous pathology of the craniofacial region is microscopically characterized by hypercellular fibroblastic stroma with a variable amount of bone or cementum like calcified structures. The overlapping histopathological features are not limited to lesions under one classification of similar origin rather it imbricates the lesions of entirely different origin as well.  The only possible way out then becomes the clinicopathological correlation. Hence, in an out of entire clinical, a radiographic, surgical, and histopathological feature reframes the building block for confirmatory diagnosis of a bone lesion.
