A modification in emphasis in an upper business course from a professor-centered approach to a student-centered focus demonstrated the use of possibilities to enrich a lecture course format to increase student engagement while also facilitating student readiness to enter the workforce. A proliferation of college teaching formats has emerged, including online learning, video teaching alternatives, and interactive learning outside the classroom. These rival formats offer new ways to engage students and ease them into future positions in organizations, yet the lecture format continues to be a choice preferred by many educational institutions. The transition to a course aligned with student needs and interests entailed numerous modifications in classroom conduct, curriculum, and student learning experiences. Certain changes appeared obvious along with other adjustments that, although profound, were subtle. This study identified factors associated with this transition along with their effects on students. Findings were based on input and evaluations by students. Three main factors were prominent in implementing the modifications: (a) augmenting the positioning of the professor as the unilateral classroom authority by adding the role of professor as agent of service to the students; (b) enriching content and assignments that immersed students in the course subjects, but often focused on the workplace environment; and (c) collecting initial input about student learning goals and requiring student feedback from each class meeting. Pre-post surveys completed by students assessed changes in their confidence on factors they associated with effectiveness in their careers.

Taxonomy is a set of hierarchical models that is applied to classify educational learning goals or objectives into a certain level of complexity. Many models have been developed and implemented to suit the educational settings of schools or educational institutions around the world. Realising the importance of educational taxonomy, the purpose of this paper is to explore the function and role of the taxonomy framework used in education, especially through the lens of Bloom, Anderson and SOLO’s (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome) framework. In addition, this concept paper also aims to formulate a more holistic alternative taxonomy based on the concept of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. Research on Bloom, Anderson and SOLO’s taxonomies is not intended to deny the role and contribution of existing taxonomies, but to provide an alternative and space in creating a balanced system of cognitive classification of students through teaching and learning as well as in the evaluation system.

In recent years, the processes of training, teaching, and online learning have become more widespread. In this context, open education has the role of empowering people to meet their learning goals. Aligned with this vision, educational institutions are offering open access to their educational resources. However, content is delivering from different platforms by making a challenging task for users to find accurate information. To face this issue, the academic community is adopting Semantic Web and Linked Data for publishing and sharing data. In this chapter, the author presents the main findings in this area. From a technological point of view, the contribution focuses on the main stages of the linked data publishing cycle. Also, from the perspective of the application domain, the author explains the research's contribution regarding three dimensions of Open Education. This chapter ends with some thoughts regarding the author's research path, her remaining tasks, and future trends.

The article is devoted to the subject-language integrated approach (CLIL), which is currently characterized in the world scientific and methodological literature as one of the innovative approaches to the organization of bilingual education and involves the simultaneous implementation of two learning goals in two subject areas – language and subject; various interpretations of its essence are presented, its varieties, possibilities and features of implementation in bilingual education are highlighted through the application of its basic principles and strategies. The role of the subject-language integrated teaching of students of non-linguistic specialties of higher educational institutions is discussed. The article describes the content and language integrated learning from the point of view of modern methods of foreign languages teaching. The main features of the teachers’ of profile subjects work as well as teachers of foreign languages in the system of subject-language integrated teaching are considered. Models and peculiarities of using CLIL methodology in a higher educational institution are given.

The use of various methods will greatly help students in achieving learning goals. As role play method is one way mastery of learning materials through the development of imagination and appreciation of students on learning materials. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The process of education must apply with “Learning Process Skill”, not “Learning Concept”. Process approach marked with student centered curricula, not teacher centered. Role of teacher is as facilitator, mediator, dynamizing, organizing, and catalyst to apply “dialog” as spirit of education process. Critical education model is an education that independent from internal-institutional fetter, social hegemony, or structured to maintain political and economical stability. These happen in the length of our national history, then produce tame-weak human accorded to system condition. Whereas, education is human right, even people right to enhance its maturity, self-identity, and independence to serve his function to his God. .

Community Development is a process of collective action taken by the members of a community to generate solutions for common problems.  The aspects of community well being namely Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural well being evolves from this type of collective action taken at multiple societal levels. (Weaver, 1971) defines community development as a process of “A public-group approach dedicated to achieving the goals of the total body politic.” Therefore, it is evident that a community can be developed through the effective participation of citizens. It is universally acceptable that community service is a vehicle for safeguarding the environment that is initiated from the participants of the community. In order to imbibe the community consciousness among the citizens, every country should “Catch them Young”. The purpose of the paper is to integrate Participative Model (Active Citizenship, Citizen Networks and Co-production) with Self-service Model (Social Governance, Societal Discipline and Accountability). National and international reviews show that the perception about the community and realisation has to be ingrained at the grass root level; this can be achieved through the participation of academic institutions. This paper is an attempt to highlight. The initiatives taken by educational institutions to imbibe social consciousness, The perceptions of students about their role in community development, and, To identify the effective Private Public Partnership areas for community building Factor analysis has been applied to identify the role of educational institutions and individual citizen’s( Students) in building community consciousness. Linear Regression had been applied in the study to measure the influence of Educational Institutions on the role of Students in building the community.  A weighted average score is awarded by the students for the potential areas of public private partnership for community development is highlighted. The results of the study provide an impact created by the institution over the students. The Study also, consolidates some of the successful community bonding and building activities carried out Academic Institutions.

With the enactment of the Education System Act no 20 of 2003 (better known as the Sisdiknas Act), the State has determined that educational institutions should have a legal umbrella in the form of a legal entity, or better known as the Legal Entity Education. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation is the right legal entity that becomes a place for educational institutions, especially private schools. Therefore, of course, Notary has a very crucial role in making notary deed in the form of establishment and deed of change, such as example how in making the right basic budget and not multi interpresatasi for stake holders in the foundation. Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.
