The student's activeness in the learning process is indispensable especially in the application of the curriculum 2013. Physics learning conducted in schools is still centered on teachers using lecture methods, so students tend to be passive, bored, and less enthusiastic in learning. Therefore, a learning model is needed can make students be centers during the learning process. This study aims to examine significant differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes when using the Problem Based Learning model with STEM approaches to Business and Energy materials. This type of research is a quasi-experiment and the research design used is pretest and posttest control-group design. The sample of this study is class X IPA 1 and X IPA 3 at MAN 2 Jember. Data collection of cognitive learning outcomes is obtained through tests. The data analysis conduct using the Independent Sample T-Test or Mann-Whitney U. Based on the results of the research, there was an improvement in cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class after treatment. However, after being test using Mann-Whitney U showed no significant differences between cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. It is crucial that the concepts of buffer solutions must be properly understood by students. It is due to the fact that buffer solutions are closely related to daily life, for example in blood, drugs, and others. The results of research and interviews show that students' understanding and student learning outcomes about the buffer solution material is still low. A student-centered learning process is needed so that it can make the learning process more fun and improve students’ learning outcomes. A meaningful student-centered learning is needed for the Learning Cycle (LC) learning model. However, the group discussion on the 5E LC learning model was less patterned, so it was combined with a patterned cooperative learning model that is Think-Pair-Share (TPS). This study aims to see the implementation of the learning process from the classroom with 5E LC -TPS and 5E LC learning models, and the influence of the 5E LC-TPS on cognitive learning outcomes from the eleventh grade students of Sidoarjo on buffer solution material. The design of the study used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with post-test-only-control group design. The research finding showed that: (1) the implementation of the learning process of the two categorized classes was done very well that is 98.3 percent in the experimental class and 95.4 percent in the control class, (2) there is the influence of the 5E LC learning model combined by TPS on the cognitive learning outcomes of class students as indicated by the significant average differences of the two classes. The average value of cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class students is higher than the control class which is equal to 85.43 and the control class is 81.62. From the results of these studies it can be concluded that there is the influence of the 5E LC-TPS learning model on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes. Konsep-konsep larutan penyangga perlu dipahami siswa karena larutan penyangga erat kaitannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, misalnya penyangga karbonat dalam darah, obat-obatan, dan lain-lain. Hasil penelitian dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa dan hasil belajar siswa tentang materi larutan penyangga masih rendah. Diperlukan suatu proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa sehingga dapat menjadikan proses pembelajaran lebih bermakana dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Salah satu pembelajaran bermakna yang berpusat pada siswa adalah model pembelajaran Learning Cycle (LC). Namun, diskusi kelompok pada model pembelajaran LC 5E kurang berpola, sehingga dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif yang berpola yaitu Think Pair Share (TPS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran dari kelas dengan model pembelajaran LC 5E-TPS dan LC 5E serta pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E -TPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri Sidoarjo pada materi larutan penyangga. Rancangan Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan eksperimental semu dengan post-test-only-control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran kedua kelas terkategori terlaksana dengan sangat baik, yaitu 92,11 persen pada kelas eksperimen dan 90,78 persen pada kelas kontrol. (2) ada pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E yang dipadu TPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas yang ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan dari kedua kelas. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol yaitu sebesar 85,43 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 81,62. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E-TPS terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

The low motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of students can be caused by errors in the selection and use of learning models in the class. This study aims to determine the effect of discovery video learning and problem-based learning model (PBL) on motivation and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Ambon. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research design using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The sample used was grade X MIPA-6 and X MIPA-7 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire containing 30 items to measure motivation and 60 multiple choice questions to measure cognitive learning outcomes. Motivational data and student learning outcomes were analyzed with the ANCOVA test. The results showed that there was no effect of the discovery-assisted learning model and the PBL learning model on student motivation (p> 0.742). But there is an influence of learning models of learning with the help of the discovery and PBL learning models on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.003). The conclusion of this study, the discovery learning model and PBL learning model do not affect motivation but affect cognitive learning outcomes.

The objectives of this research are to: 1) determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes; and 2) to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The research design of pre-test-post-test non equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMPN 1 Tanjung North Lombok Regency in the academic year 2017/2018 which consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain class VII 3 as the experimental class and class VII 1 as the control class. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions totaling 20 items to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and essay questions to measure content and the scientific context. Meanwhile, worksheets are used to measure the scientific process. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05% using SPSS 16 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) there was an effect of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.05); and 2) there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy (p <0.05).

This study aims to examine the effect of problem-based learning models on the achievement of student learning outcomes in History subjects. This research was conducted at Pusaka 1 Jakarta Senior High School. The method used in this research is quantitative quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design model. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS as many as four classes at SMAS Pusaka 1 Jakarta. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling technique to determine one class as an experimental class using a problem-based learning model and another class as a control class using conventional learning models. The results of hypothesis testing using the t test, obtained tcount = 9.25,> from ttable = 1.99. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between problem-based learning models in online learning settings on cognitive learning outcomes of class XI IPS at SMAS Pusaka 1 Jakarta on History Subjects.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan keterampilan sosial dan hasil belajar siswa setelah pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe (STAD). Posttest control group design digunakan dalam penelitian eksperimen semu ini. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII A (kelompok eksperimen) dan kelas B (kelompok control) yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi keterlaksanaan RPP, lembar observasi keterampilan sosial, tes hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan lembar validasi soal. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistic menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan sosial kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok control berkategori baik. Hasil uji statistic menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok control (thitung= 1,53 < ttabel= 1,93) meskipun secara deskriptif skor rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok eksperimen lebih baik dari kelompok control (mean= 63,75 vs. mean= 50,52). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap keterampilan sosial dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. The Effect of the STAD Type Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Social Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe social skills and student learning outcomes after learning using the STAD type cooperative learning model. Posttest control group design was used in this quasi-experimental research. The samples of this study were class VII A (experimental group) and class B (control group) which were selected using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the lesson plan implementation observation sheet, social skills observation sheet, student cognitive learning outcomes test and question validation sheets. The research data were analyzed descriptively and statistically using t-test. The results showed that the social skills of the experimental group and the control group were categorized as good. The results of the statistical test showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group (tcount= 1.53 < ttable= 1.93) although descriptively the average score of the experimental group's learning outcomes was better than the control group (mean= 63.75 vs. mean = 50.52). This study concludes that there is no significant effect of the STAD type cooperative learning model on social skills and students' cognitive learning outcomes.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on scientific attitudes and cognitive learning outcomes of students. The design used was an experiment with a Pretest Posttest Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Scientific attitude data were analyzed descriptively in the form of a percentage, while learning outcomes were analyzed using the Independent Sample t-Test at the 5% confidence level. The results showed that the scientific attitude obtained the highest results in the critical aspects with a percentage of 85.4% with very good criteria, while the lowest gain was in the active aspects of asking with a percentage of 70.4% with a fairly good criterion. The pretest-posttest N-gain average value in the experimental class was 0.49 higher than the control class, namely 0.39 with sig. (2-tailed) 0.043 < 0.05 so that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, the discovery learning model has an effect on scientific attitudes and is significant on the cognitive learning outcomes of students.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry (GI) learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning (TEQ) on student cognitive learning outcomes. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest posttest control group design. The population of this research was the students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Dumai in the academic year 2018/2019. Sampling method was done using random sampling techniques to get experiment and control class. The parameters measured were cognitive learning outcomes and the instrument used was an objective test. The data analysis technique for testing hypotheses was independent t-test. Data analysis showed sig ˂ 0.05 then H0 was rejected, this shows that student learning outcomes with the Guided Inqury model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning were significantly different from student learning outcomes with conventional models. Student learning outcomes using the Guided Inqury learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning are better than student learning outcomes using conventional learning. The average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 81.82 while the control class was 61.29. The average N-gain of the experimental group was 0.70 with a high category and the control group was 0.38 with a moderate category.

Oral communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes are indicators of learning achievement. This research aimed to analyze students' oral communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes through the implementation of practicum-based TSTS. This research employed the quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The samples were determined using the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the practicum-based TSTS learning model contributed to students' oral communication skills with excellent categories. Teaching and learning activities using the practicum-based TSTS affected students' cognitive learning outcomes (Sig. 0.838 0.05). Thus, this research showed that the implementation of the practicum-based TSTS learning model on the Plantae topic can train students’ oral communication skills and affect their cognitive learning outcomes.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playing berbantuan media video terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi bunyi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SD Swasta Torsina III Singkawang. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experimental, dalam bentuk Nonequivalent Pre-test and Post-test Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Torsina III Singkawang. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik non probability dengan jenis sampling jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes berupa tes objektif materi bunyi dan teknik non tes berupa angket respon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar ranah kognitif antara siswa yang diterapkan model pembelajaran role playing berbantuan media video dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran langsung; (2) Penggunaan model pembelelajaran role playing berbantuan media video berpengaruh tinggi terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa; (3) Respon siswa positif terhadap model pembelajaran role playing berbantuan media video pada kategori baik. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran role playing; media video; hasil belajar kognitif. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effect of the video media-assisted Role Playing learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes on sound material. The research was conducted at Torsina III Private Elementary School, Singkawang. The type of research is quantitative research with quasi-experimental method, in the form of Nonequivalent Pre-test and Post-test Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SD Torsina III Singkawang. Samples were taken using a non-probability technique with saturated sampling type. The data collection technique used a test technique in the form of an objective test of sound material and a non-test technique in the form of a response questionnaire. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in cognitive domain learning outcomes between students who applied the role playing learning model assisted by video media and students who received direct learning; (2) The use of role playing learning models assisted by video media has a high effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes; (3) Positive student responses to the video-assisted role playing learning model in the good category. Keywords: role playing learning model; video media; cognitive learning outcomes.

Masih banyak siswa yang memperoleh hasil belajar kognitif dibawah nilai KKM. Studi ini bertujuan mengkaji studi hasil belajar kognitif pada materi udara bersih bagi pernapasan melalui model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan rancangan berupa nonequivalent control group design. Sampel adalah  siswa kelas V SDN 23 Menyumbung yang berjumlah 35 siswa. Instrumen berupa soal tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 24 soal yang terkait indikator kognitif. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai probalilitas (0,000) dan lebih kecil dari alpha (0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model NHT  berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif pada materi pentingnya udara bersih bagi pernapasan di SDN 23 Menyumbung tahun pelajaran 2019/2020.Kata kunci: Numbered heads together, hasil belajar kognitif, pembelajaran tematik Study of cognitive learning outcomes in clean air material for breathing through the numbered heads together model. There are still many students who get cognitive learning outcomes below the KKM score. This study aims to examine cognitive learning outcomes in clean air material for breathing through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model. The approach is quantitative with a design in the form of nonequivalent control group design. The sample is students in class V SDN 23 Menyumbung, totaling 35 students. The instrument using was a multiple choice test item by 24 questions related to cognitive indicators. Hypothesis test results obtained a significant value (0,000) and greater than alpha (0.05) so it can be concluded that the NHT learning model has a significant effect on cognitive learning outcomes on the material importance of clean air for breathing in SDN 23 Menyumbung to the 2019/2020 academic year.Keywords: Numbered heads together, cognitive learning outcomes, thematic  learning
