The research objective is to determine the purpose of physical education in pedagogical higher educational institutions. Materials and methods. The research used: theoretical analysis and collation of scientific literature; study of guidelines and documents regulating the process of organizing and conducting the discipline “Physical Education” in a higher educational institution; questionnaires. The participants of the experiment were 60 first-year students (enrolled in 2015-2016) of the School of Ukrainian Language and Literature of H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. Research results. The analysis of the questionnaires revealed low rates of motivational variants in the choice of the sports section related to the future profession. The research specified the purpose of the discipline “Physical Education” in a pedagogical higher educational institution, and defined the health-preserving competence. Conclusions. The specific nature of the pedagogical profession requires that future teachers acquire the health-preserving competence within the discipline “Physical Education”, namely, the ability to maintain a general level of physical health needed to conduct social and professional activity.

The paper offers a model of professionally applied physical training of female students of the School of Pre-School Education through rhythmic gymnastics. The study proves that rhythmic gymnastics exercises have health-improving, developmental, educational and aesthetic potential, which makes them an effective means of professionally applied physical training of future teachers at pre-school institutions. The offers a set of rhythmic gymnastics exercises selected specifically for professionally applied physical training of female students at the School of Pre-School Education, and a model designed to implement such training during the period of studies at the higher educational institution.

The article reveals the methodic aspect of the process of formation of facilitative competence of future teachers of humanities in professional training at a higher educational institution of a pedagogical profile. The author proposes a program for students to acquire information and theoretical material on the issues of facilitation in education; a cycle of practical exercises and tasks that illustrate the functional context of facilitative interaction in the work of a modern school teacher; a system of self-research tasks that make students aware of the importance of facilitative activities in the work of the teacher of the New Ukrainian School. The article is devoted to the substantiation of the importance of the process of forecasting the results of professional training of teachers. On the example of studying the methodical competence of future teachers of humanitarian specialties, a method is proposed for predicting the prospects for the formation of this professional and personal phenomenon, which is important for the effectiveness and efficiency of future pedagogical activity, in a higher educational institution. In the article, based on the analysis of scientific literature, the essence of the concepts of "forecast", "forecasting" is disclosed, a mathematical apparatus (the method of regression analysis) is proposed, which made it possible to create a mathematical model of the phenomenon under study. The presented research results confirmed the possibilities and prospects on the basis he methodological culture of future teachers of humanitarian specialties.

The article reveals the theoretical aspects of aesthetic education of students of higher educational institutions, the aestheticization of the educational environment, which is considered as an activity basis and a stable set of cultural values of an educational institution, The article reveals methodological approaches to the problem of aesthetic education of young people, such as a systemic, synergetic, acmeological and environmental approach, which is defined as a set of principles and ways of using the educational capabilities of the environment in the personal development of a person. The author focuses on the decisive role of the environmental approach in solving the main task of higher education for the preparation of such specialists who, by their actions, assessments, and their own worldview, take part in the cultural life of society. The article gives a characteristic of the object-aesthetic environment as a derivative of the concept of "aesthetic environment", which in its structure contains material and aesthetic elements, united into a single whole in such a way that the objects that form it simultaneously become carriers of aesthetic and functional purposes. It is concluded that the combination of the pedagogical and aesthetic potential of the environment of a pedagogical higher educational institution is an important condition for the upbringing of future teachers, since the aesthetic possibilities of the content of educational material, the organization of the educational process and student activities, as well as the aesthetic possibilities of the teacher are considered by us as a means of forming an aesthetic environment  pedagogical higher educational institution.

The paper is devoted to the consideration of the problem of finding approaches to assessing the level of formation of teachers’ readiness for research activities, as one of the important components of their professional practice. Recognition of the significance of the phenomenon under consideration in the educational sphere and the realization that the system of pedagogical support for research activities of future teachers in pedagogical higher educational institutions, and teachers in the system of raising their qualifications to some extent outdated, require their substantial renewal. In this connection, the problems of searching for approaches to the study of ways of forming teachers’ readiness for research activities become relevant, which makes it necessary to build a model of such readiness itself. The aim of the paper is to analyze the state and develop a model of readiness for research activities of students of a pedagogical higher educational institution and teachers of educational institutions. The main research methods are theoretical analysis of scientific and psychological-pedagogical literature devoted to the problem of research, testing of teachers of general educational institutions, bachelors and masters studying at a pedagogical university, methods of mathematical processing of statistical data. Means of researching the problem posed is criterion-based questionnaire-test tools, which allow to identify correlation dependencies between the indicators of the components of readiness for research activities and the levels of its formation. The study was conducted on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after VP. Astafyev with the participation of bachelors, master and teachers of educational institutions. The analysis of the state of the problem of research activities in the training of future teachers in a pedagogical university and teachers of educational institutions based on questionnaire and test diagnosed tools revealed correlations between the indicators of the four components in the structure of students’ readiness for research (motivational, cognitive, activity, reflexive) and levels this readiness (student, practitioner, theorist, research leader). The obtained dependencies and research data allowed to form a model of readiness for research activities of students of a pedagogical university and teachers of educational institutions, describing the degree of formation of each component at each level. The article materials may be useful for the organization of computer diagnostics of the readiness in question. Such diagnostics will not only allow automated identification of the level of readiness for research activities, but also give recommendations on the development of a particular characteristic, show how close the respondent is to the next level and what he needs to do to do this.
