Kuningan local tourism possesses a promising future. However, some investigations cite a decrease in visitors over time, revealing underlying problems in the organization. Critical inquiries may arise from the interaction of information technology and market orientation to increase competitiveness and, finally, tourist attractions' performance. Thus, this study investigates the local tourism activity of Panembongan Hill in Kuningan, Banten, Indonesia. One hundred thirty visitors agree to participate in the study, and the coded responses are analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results reveal that Information Technology does not relate to competitiveness and tourism business performance; market orientation increases competitiveness and business performance. Finally, the competitiveness of tourism activities propels business performance considerably.

Prior studies suggest that differentiating strategy (DS) has an intervening impact on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and performance. However, they only examine the impacts based on each dimension of EO, provide a lack of theory underpinning why this strategy is the mediator, and focus on the manufacturing industry of an emerging market. Addressing these gaps, the purpose of this study draws from the contingency theory in strategic management to examine whether this strategy is the mediator in the context of Vietnam. Partial least square structural equation modeling used to assess the research model with data collected from 142 SMEs operating in Vietnam. The result indicates that DS fully has an intervening effect on the association between EO and SMEs' performance.

This study examined the effect of environmental factors, entrepreneurial orientation, and market orientation on profitability in small business. In this study, we consider two dimensions of external environment: technological turbulence and competitive intensity. Theoretically, technological turbulence, competitive intensity, and entrepreneurial orientation are correlated, but distinct construct. Data was processed with Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS program. The results showed that technological turbulence has no direct effect on market orientation, but competitive intensity proved to have significant impact on market orientation. Entrepreneurial orientation has a direct effect and an indirect effect on profitability mediated by market orientation. The result also showed that market orientation proved to have significant impact on profitability. Based on the results, this study suggest, at least in small firms, competitive intensity and entrepreneurial orientation complements market orientation by instilling an opportunistic culture that impacts the profitability. Keywords: technological turbulence, competitive intensity, entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, and profitability.

The research intends to test the effects of entrepeneurship orientation and market orientation on business performance with strategic flexibility as mediator. Considering Indonesia has been even today eagerly support entrepreneurial, it intends to explore relationship between the three variables in small and medium enterprises context. The study takes place in Indonesia with 194 sampel. For questionnaire distribution, it makes use of online tool with google form. The unit of analysis is owners, managers or decision-makers at the SMEs. For data analysis, it applies structural equation model with WarpPLS approach. The results demonstrate that entrepreneurial orientation does not significant effect on business performance, but has a positive effect on strategic flexibility. While market orientation has a positive effect on business performance, but it does not have significant effect on strategic flexibility. It means that strategic flexibility mediate relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance, while it does not hold true for relationship between market orientation and business performance.

PurposeGuided by social exchange, broaden and build and conservation of resources theoretical perspectives, this study explores the moderated mediating role of supervisory support (SS) on the relationship between job meaningfulness (JM) on job performance (JP) through employee engagement (EE).Design/methodology/approachField data were collected from two hundred and nineteen executives and their thirty-eight supervisors of a large paint manufacturing industry through a time-lagged research design and was analyzed with partial least squares based structural equation modeling.FindingsFindings of this study indicate that JM mediated by EE contributes to JP, which means if an employee finds one's job meaningful, she/he is likely to be more engaged emotionally, psychologically and cognitively to deliver better JP. SS is also found to be salient as it moderates both direct and indirect relationships between JM and JP through EE.Research limitations/implicationsGeneralizability of the findings of this study should be done with caution. Though the study has time-laggard data from two different sources but missing longitudinal data restricts causality of relationships/findings.Practical implicationsThese findings are relevant for organizations given that organizational leaders can create a context, by appropriate job design and engaging work context that motivates employees to perform better in their jobs. Insights of this study will be useful for organizations to curate meaningful jobs for their employees and also groom leaders with requisite skills and competencies to help subordinates perform up to their potential.Originality/valueThis study is an attempt toward a better understanding of the interplay of JM, work engagement and SS on JP in a manufacturing set-up in India, which has not been hitherto examined in Indian context.
