Learning physics only to training remember and understand aspect the causes of passive students and inhibit the development of thinking on a higher level. One reason for the development of curriculum 2013 is training critical thinking skills. Therefore, research that aims to develop critical thinking skills worksheets based on the subject matter of heat to support the implementation of curriculum 2013. The specific aims of this study describes: (1) the validity of student’s worksheet, (2) critical thinking skills of students after using the student’s worksheet, and (3) student's response to student’s worksheet. This type of research is the development of research ADDIE model includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research subjects are 30 students of class VII-F Junior High School 24 Banjarmasin. Collecting data through sheet of validity, sheet of critical thinking skills, interviews, observation,  questionnaire responses, and documentation. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive. Results showed (1) the validity of student’s worksheets based critical thinking skills in a very valid category and in the category high reliability, (2) critical thinking skills in the excellent category, and (3) student's response to student’s worksheet in the excellent category. Be concluded that the student’s worksheet based critical thinking skills developed in the proper category.

The present study aimed at describing the dispositions of students around a coffee plantation in solving algebraic problems, especially those pertaining to fraction and comparison. Critical thinking disposition denotes the initial milestone to developing students’ critical thinking skills. The study investigated four components of critical thinking dispositions, comprising of truth-seeking, open-mindedness, self-confidence, and inquisitiveness. The subjects under investigation were 45 students at the second grade of a junior high school situated around Garahan coffee plantation in Jember district, East Java, Indonesia. The study covered several phases, inter alia, (1) describing problems on Algebra to the students, (2) recording any activities of the research subjects when doing tasks given, (3) analyzing the students’ answer sheets based on four components of critical thinking dispositions, (4) conducting method triangulation projected to confirm the preliminary findings on the students critical thinking dispositions, and (5) determining the students’ critical thinking dispositions based on the results of direct observation, video recording, and interview. The study gained several findings related to the students’ dispositions. First, the students’ tendency in truth-seeking was characterized by their analysis on the problems given on themes regarding coffee. This prevented them from making mistakes as they checked some information, be it known or unknown, as the bases for problem solving. However, not every student was aware of what was unknown about the problem or what was required to solve the problem. Second, their tendency in open-mindedness was evinced by the fact that they were assured of their answer as they related it to their experience in planting coffee. Nevertheless, some students tended to ask their parent when they had to determine the amount of diameter comparison between two logs to be connected. Third, they tended to be confident in solving problems given as they had experienced the activities described in the problem when they assisted their parents in planting coffee, but still some students had yet to be sure of their answers as they lacked the experience in planting coffee. Lastly, they tended to possess sound inquisitiveness concerning various issues pertinent to solving algebraic problems, especially themed on coffee. They acquired the inquisitiveness by observing the actual activity in their environment. Nonetheless, their inquisitiveness could not be generalized to algebraic lessons at school.

Abstract – Research has been carried out on the development of team assisted individualization-based physics handouts to determine the feasibility of team-assisted individualization-based physics handouts developed, student responses after using the team-assisted individualization-based physics handouts that have been developed, and improvement in students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is a development that refers to the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Purworejo with 32 research subjects. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets, student response questionnaires, learning achievement sheets, and learning achievement tests. Based on the research, the data obtained from the team-assisted individualization-based physics handout validation from three validators, namely two expert lecturers and physics teachers, received an overall score of 3.35, included in the good enough category and feasible to be used in the learning process. Students' responses to the physics-based handout team assisted individualization implementation phase obtained a percentage of 77.7% with a good category. Increased critical thinking skills of the application stage obtained an N-gain of 0.581 and included in the category of moderate improvement. Thus, a team assisted individualization-based physics handout developed in this study is categorized as good and suitable for use in learning and can improve students' critical thinking skills.

<p class="abstrak">Critical thinking is one of the most important issues in education. However, based on field observation results it is found that students have low critical thinking skills. One reason is that learning activities in the classroom do not foster students’ critical thinking skills. The purpose of this research study to enhance students’ critical skills by implementing the <em>Problem-based Learning </em>(PBL) method. The research subjects were 29 grade 7 students in a junior high school in Manado. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted from September 12 to November 3, 2017. The instruments used were diagnostic tests, pre-tests and post-tests, observation sheets, student interviews, checklists by observers and students, and the researcher’s reflection journal. Data results were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the implementation of the PBL method was able to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in learning math with the achievement percentage of students who passed the KKM for pre-test and post-test based on the overall data analysis result from cycle one to two showing an enhancement of 22% on the first indicator, 9% on the third indicator, and 2% on the fourth indicator. The second indicator showed no enhancement amd there was a decrease of 8% on the fifth indicator. Therefore, the PBL method is effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills through each stage of the method in the learning process.</p><p class="abstrak"><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: </strong>Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu hal terpenting dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun, berdasarkan observasi di lapangan ditemukan bahwa siswa memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis yang rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah aktivitas pembelajaran di kelas tidak melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan metode <em>Problem-based Learning </em>(PBL). Subyek penelitian adalah 29 siswa kelas VII di suatu SMP di Manado. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dilakukan dari September sampai dengan November 2017. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah <em>diagnostic test</em>, <em>pre-test</em> dan <em>post-test</em>, lembar observasi, wawancara siswa, <em>checklist</em>oleh pengamat dan siswa, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Analisis data hasil penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode PBL mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan peningkatan indikator satu sebesar 22%, indikator tiga sebesar 9%, dan indikator empat sebesar 2%. Adapun untuk indikator dua tidak mengalami peningkatan dan indikator lima mengalami penurunan sebesar 8%. Dengan demikian, metode PBL terbukti efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui setiap tahapan metode dalam proses pembelajaran.</p><div><hr align="left" size="1" width="33%" /></div>

Critical thinking skill which is one of the important abilities in the 21st century is important to be trained in learning. The purpose of this research is to develop an AR-based worksheet on dynamic electrical material that is valid, practical, and effective to stimulate students’ critical thinking. The development model used the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation steps. The product developed was tested for validation, practicality test, and effectiveness test. The results of the validity test obtained a value of 81.80% with a valid category. The results of the practicality test obtained a percentage of 80.85% with good criteria. The results of the effectiveness test showed an N-Gain value of 0.67 with the moderately effective category. From the average pretest and posttest scores, it can be seen that the posttest average score increased by 39.04 which indicates that the use of AR-based worksheets can improve students’ critical thinking. It can be concluded that AR-based worksheets on the concept of dynamic electricity developed are valid, practical, and effective to stimulate students’ critical thinking.

<p class="JIPIAbstractBodyEnglish">This development research has a goal delevoping OASIS based module with the subject of work and energy to increase critical thinking skills of students. The development module contains the subject of work and energy, Oriented activities from an OASIS learning model (Orientation, Analysis, Synthesis, Investigation, Synergy), examples and exercises. The limited ADDIE model procedure which includes analysis, design, development, implementation. The development module is validated by 10 material and media experts. The results of validation are calculated using CVR and CVI calculations. CVI score of material experts is 0,8 and CVI score of media expers is 0,82, both of which are very suitable criteria. N-gain test was conduted in small classes to know the increase critical thinking skills of students. The n-gain result of critical thinking skill test was 0,66 in moderate category. Pretest homogenity test with Sig 0,535 and posttest homogeneity with Sig 0,678 greater than alpha 0,05. Meanwhile pretest normality test with Sig 0,638 and posttest normality test with Sig 0,180 greater than alpha 0,05. The t test paired sample test to know there’s an average difference in pretest and posttest , the value Sig 0,000 smaller than alpha 0,05. Meanwhile the result of student responses showed 73,3% in good category. In conclusion, effectiveness of the application of an OASIS based physics module is able to increase critical thinking skills of students.</p><p><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong><em>: </em><em>Module, OASIS Based, Critical Thinking Skill</em></p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir kritis matematis dan mengidentifikasi tingkat berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran discovery pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 6 orang siswa yang diambil dari 37 siswa kelas VII-E MTsN 3 Aceh Barat yang dipilih berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematikanya. Instrumen penelitian meliputi peneliti, tes berpikir kritis, dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan terdiri dari tes berpikir kritis dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam aktivitas penyelesaian masalah siswa lebih banyak melakukan proses specializing dan generalizing. Siswa telah mampu mengidentifikasi masalah yang disajikan serta menyusun langkah penyelesaian yang mungkin untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut, namun pada proses conjecturing dan convincing, siswa masih perlu dilatih untuk menganalogikan masalah serta menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara yang beragam. Temuan penelitian ini dapat digunakan guru untuk merancang pembelajaran matematika yang melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.The process of mathematical critical thinking of junior high school students through discovery learning AbstractThis study aimed to describe the process of mathematical critical thinking of students who were given discovery learning in mathematics learning. This study was classified as qualitative research. The research subjects were 6 students drawn from 37 students of class VII-E MTsN 3 Aceh Barat, Indonesia, and selected based on their initial mathematical abilities. The research instruments included researchers, critical thinking test, and interview guidelines. The data collection was carried out by giving a critical thinking test conducted after discovery learning and interviewing the research subjects after completing the test. The data in this study were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that in solving problems, students were more dominant in the process of specializing and generalizing. Students have been able to identify the problem presented and arrange possible steps for solving the problem, but in the process of conjecturing and convincing, students still need to be trained in analogizing problems and solving problems in a variety of ways. The findings of this study could be used by teachers to design mathematics learning that exercises critical thinking skills.

ABSTRAKBerpikir kritis menjadi hal yang diperlukan pada suatu pembelajaran, namun pada keadaan sebenarnya tidak semua sekolah menerapkan kebiasaan berpikir kritis. Seperti pembelajaran daring yang terjadi di masa pandemi Covid 19. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diperlukan adanya pengembangan pada perangkat pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model PBL berbantuan simulasi PhET pada materi Termodinamika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan yaitu RPP, LKS, dan Soal dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian pengembangan yang memakai model ADDIE ini terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, dan Evaluate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan perangkat pembelajran model PBL berbantuan simulasi PhET pada materi Termodinamika efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan N-gain score sebesar 55,69% dengan kriteria sedang. Kata kunci: Efektivitas; Perangkat Pembelajaran; Problem Based Learning; PhET; Berpikir Kritis. ABSTRACTCritical thinking is a necessary thing in learning, but in reality not all schools apply the habit of critical thinking. The results showed that the development of PBL model learning tools assisted by PhET simulation on Thermodynamics material was effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the critical thinking skills and enthusiasm of prospective physics educator students in learning virtual-based thermodynamics courses. This type of research is a survey research that begins with the development of research instruments using a 4-D development model according to Thiagarajan consisting of 4 stages, namely: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research subjects were 20 students of the physics education study program at the University of Palangka Raya in the Thermodynamics class. Collecting data using validation methods, evaluation techniques and student enthusiasmquestionnaires. Quantitative data were obtained from the results of critical thinking skills assessment and student enthusiasm questionnaires in the virtual-based thermodynamics learning process given at the end of the lesson. The data analysis technique used quantitative and qualitative descriptive inferential statistical test analysis. The results obtained are the test instrument for critical thinking skills learning outcomes and student enthusiasm questionnaire instruments in virtual-based thermodynamic learning that have been developed are included in the valid criteria, with Cronbach's Alpha reliability () 0.712 < 0.899 which is included in the high reliability criteria; 1) students' critical thinking skills are 87% with an average N-gain of 0.86 critical thinking skills which is in the high criteria; 2) student enthusiasm on average 91.7% students feel enthusiastic about thermodynamics learning that is carried out virtually, which can be seen from the aspect of student's intention to take part in learning by 95%, aspect of goal 90%, aspect of self-potential by 90% and positive thinking aspect by 91.7%.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) menggunakan pendekatan inquiry berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa yang berkualitas berdasarkan aspek valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengem­bangan ADDIE dengan tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas XI MIA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Godean. Analisis data kevalidan dan kepraktisan dilakukan dengan mengkonversi skor aktual menjadi skor kualitatif. Analisis keefektifan dilakukan dengan menentukan persentase ketuntasan siswa pada tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rata-rata skor angket rasa ingin tahu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan inquiry yang berorientasi pada kemam­puan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Developing a learning kit using an inquiry approach oriented to critical thinking skillAbstractThis study aimed to produce a learning kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students’ critical thinking skills and curiosity which has a good quality in the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The data of validity and practicality were analyzed by converting the actual score into qualitative data. The data of effectiveness were done by determining the percentage of student that passed the critical thinking skill tests and the mean scores of students' curiosity questionnaire. The results of this study were a teaching kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students' critical thinking skill and curiosity has met the criterion of valid, practical, and effective.

This study aimed at developing Tri Hita Karana based student worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills. The model used in the development of Tri Hita Karana-based worksheets in this study was the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of this study revealed that the validity of the developed student worksheets was excellent. It was indicated by the average test scores of material and design experts which was about 83.75% and 81.58% and considered having very good quality. The readability test in class A and B obtained an average score of 82.27% and 80.64% with very good quality. The results also showed that the developed worksheets were able to improve students' critical thinking skills. This could be seen from the n-gain values in class A and B of 0.74 and 0.78 in the medium category, and the sig value. in the paired sample t test of 0.00 in both classes. Teachers and students gave good responses to the developed worksheets. In conclusion, Tri Hita Karana based student worksheets with the feasibility and effectiveness in improving students' critical thinking skills were successsfully developed.
