Abstrak: Kurangnya kemampuan siswa untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam persoalan fisika berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa melalui pendekatan SAVI dengan model pengajaran langsung. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) keterlaksanaan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP); 2) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Banjarmasin yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian siklus I dan siklus II yaitu:  1) Keterlaksanaan RPP dengan pendekatan SAVI dalam model pengajaran langsung dengan kategori sangat baik; 2) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa meningkat dari skor 48 yang berkategori cukup baik menjadi 73 yang berkategori baik, serta telah mencapai ketuntasan klasikal yaitu 85,29 %. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa melalui pendekatan SAVI dengan model pengajaran langsung dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Abstract: The low of students' ability to solve problems in physics affects the low learning outcomes of students. Therefore, research aimed to improve students problem-solving skills through SAVI approach with direct instruction model. The specific purpose of this research is to describe: (1) the implementation of lesson plan; (2) student problem-solving abilities. This type of research uses a classroom action research model Kemmis and Mc Taggart. This study consists of 2 cycles. The subjects of the study were the students of X grade IPA SMA Negeri 1 Banjarmasin, amounting to 34 students. Data collection is done through observation, test, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The results of research cycle I and cycle II are: (1) The implementation of lesson plan with SAVI approach in direct learning model increased; (2) problem-solving ability students increased from a score of 48 that categorized well enough to 73 who categorized well and has achieved classical completeness of 85,29 %. It is concluded that through the SAVI approach with the direct teaching model can improve students problem-solving abilities.

The essence of mathematics is a thought process in constructing, applying abstract ideas, and their logical interrelationships. This process is essential in solving quantitative and qualitative physics problems, where abstract ideas are required to represent physical phenomena. This study aims to give detail description of the process of mathematical methods for physics lectures. Improvement in pre-service physics teachers' critical thinking is designed to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The methodology of research is qualitative descriptive. The research subjects were 97 pre-service physics teachers who had followed the mathematical methods for physics courses and teaching lecturers. Data collection consisted of questionnaires, and interviews. Observations are needed for describing the implementation of mathematical methods for physics courses, document analysis, and data collection, including lesson plan and assessment. The results showed that mathematical methods for physics courses need improvement in the learning process. It is concluded that lecture activities integrating computers into physics and mathematics are necessary to be implemented. It is expected that the program will improve students' ability in problem-solving, critical thinking skills, communication, digital era literacy, creative and innovative creations, and group work. Specifically, implementation of the program in the ordinary differential equations course can provide learning experiences to students regarding the process of reasoning in physics using mathematical principles.

Problem-solving skills is necessary to be mastered by students to help them in solving the problems of their daily life in the future. The purpose of this study was to map the student problem-solving skills after inquiry learning in Physics subject, impulse, and momentum in class X SMAN 1 Prambanan, Yogyakarta. Experimental research model with one-shot case study design was used in this study. Data collection was performed through essays at the end of the learning process. The results of the mapping show that students have different problem-solving skills levels at each stage. At the stage of problem identification, students were in a very good category. At the stage of planning the problem solution and problem-solving implementation, the students were in a good category, while in results evaluation, the students were in a fairly good category. The result of this study can contribute to giving the point of view to the teacher about students' problem-solving skills level based on the indicators as well as giving the additional information as a literature in the topic of students’ problem-solving skills after inquiry learning.

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifitasan penggunaan PAKSOBRI denga Quiz Faber untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa. Jenis dari penelitian ini PTK dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa di Universitas Islam Jember. Dengan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu berupa metode dokumentasi, observasi, dan tes. Adapun indikator keberhasilan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi (1) Ketuntasan perorangan dapat dicapai  mahasiswa apabila seoarang mahasiswa mencapai skor ? 70 dari skor maksimal 100. (2) Mahasiswa meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalahnya jika indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah akhir lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebelumnya. (3) Siklus I dinyatakan berhasil jika ? 75% mahasiswa tuntas dalam pembelajaran dan Siklus II dinyatakan berhasil jika 85% mahasiswa tuntas dalam pembelajaran. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terjadi peningkatn kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada mahasiswa melalui penerapan PAKSOBRI dengan Quiz Faber.Kata kunci: PAKSOBRI, Quiz Faber, pemecahan masalah Abstrack The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using a PAKSOBRI with Quiz Faber to improve student problem solving skills. The type of the research is CAR with qualitative research. The subject of this study was students at Islamic University of Jember. With the data collection method used consists of methods of documentation, observation, and testing. (1) Individual completeness can be obtained by students agreeing that a student reaches a score of ? 70 from a maximum score of 100. (2) Students improve their problem solving ability if the indicator of the final problem solving ability is better than the previous problem solving ability. (3) Cycle I was declared successful if ? 75% of students completed learning and Cycle II was approved successfully if 85% of students completed learning. The results obtained about an increase in problem solving skills in students through the application of PAKSOBRI with Quiz Faber.Keywords: PAKSOBRI, Quiz Faber, problem solving

The Problem solving skills are skills that must be possessed by students to solve a problem correctly and correctly in the learning process. Students with high achievement do not necessarily have high problem solving skills either. This study aims to describe students' problem-solving skills in simple aircraft material based on class rankings. This research method uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research location was conducted at SMP Avisena Jabon, Kedungcangkring Sidoarjo. The data collection techniques used were tests, interviews, and documentation that had been tested for validity. The results showed that the problem solving skills possessed by students ranked 1 on all indicators were included in the very high category, problem solving skills possessed by students ranked 2 on all indicators were included in the high category, and problem solving skills possessed by students ranked 3 on all indicators included in the high category.

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying the method VII.2 classassignment sheet giving students conducted in March and April 2016. Subjects were seventhgrade students of SMP Negeri 2 Dumai totaling 26 students. The parameters in this study isthe absorption and mastery learning as well as student activities and teacher activities assupporting data. The research instrument used is the study and data collection instruments.The device consists of a learning syllabus, lesson plan, test, observation of student activitysheets, activity sheets teacher observation. The survey results revealed absorption of studentsin the first cycle is 70% with moderate category and second cycle increased to 78% in thehigh category. Mastery learning of students in the first cycle is 88.46% and 88.50% in thesecond cycle students completed. Activities of students in the first cycle an average of80.76%% (very good) and the second cycle is an increase of 97.5% (excellent). It can beconcluded that the method of administration of the student assignment sheet can improvestudent learning outcomes in the classroom ecosystem VII 2 material SMP Negeri 2 Dumai.

Engineering education has become challenging compared to previous decade, the readiness of graduates before entering employement world is vital for the academician. Students are expected to possess all generic skill sets as needed by a qualified engineer including knowledge profile, engineering ability, communication, teamwork, and other relevant skills. In Malaysia, engineering graduates should possess 12 programme outcomes (PO) according to ETAC requirement, throughout the whole curriculum structure in diploma level. However, capstone course in Diploma Civil Engineering in UiTM only measures 3 main programme outcomes which are problem solving and scientific skills, communication skills, and ethics in engineering. The implementation of capstones course is reviewed for 3 consecutive semesters and student attaintment based on grade and programe outcomes is observed. This paper provides the assesment tools that had been mapped to programme outcomes through out 14 week lesson plan for final year students in Diploma Civil Engineering.This study was conducted in UiTM Pasir Gudang to measure the attainment of student’s skill set based on programme outcomes stated in the syllabus. It shows that, a graduate is considered to be good in communication skills and ethics in engineering but average in problem solving skills and scientific skills. Thus, a few recomandations have been made to improve the skills attainment among students at the faculty level.

One of the studen learning goals mathematics is mathematical reasoning for outcomes training student to solve the problems. One of the problems faced by students is word questions. There are several students responses in dealing with word question which is known as Adversity Quotient. This research aims to describe the students' problem solving skills in system of three-variable linear equations subject based on Polya's theory in terms of Adversity Quotient. This is a qualitative descriptive research with three subjects of students class X IPA 1 SMAN Arjasa Jember, there are one climber student, one camper student and one quitter student. These subjects took purposive sampling with consideration according to the results of questionnaire scores that meet each of the criteria of Adversity Quotient. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, tests, interviews and observations. The validity test used is technical triangulation. Data analyzed through data condensation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that student with the type of climber was able to meet all the indicators of problem solving in the problem of the word questions which included indicators of understanding the problem, planning the solution, carrying out the plan of solving and re-checking. Camper type student met all indicators of problem solving except at the re-checking stage. Quitter type student in completing word questions met the stage of understanding the problem and planning the solution, while the stage of carrying out the plan and re-checking is not fulfilled by the quitter student.

The purpose of this research is to know about the effectiveness of geometry maze games media on problem skills in elemantary school students. This research is a pre-experimental using in group, pretest and posttest desaign. Data collection method is interview, questionnaire, and test. The effectiveness of media from maze games seen from the results of the pretest and posttest problem solving ability by means of a test Paired SamplesT-Test with helped by SPSS 25.0 for windows. The results is significant value (2-tailed) equals 0,000 pretest and posttest. From Paired Samples T-Test game geometry maze media towards probleam solving skilss
