One of the many sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is education. This resulted in a change in the learning system from face-to-face in class to online learning from home. Since online learning took place, students have experienced many difficulties in implementing it, especially in mathematics. Therefore, this research was conducted by the author to know the difficulties students encounter during online learning during a pandemic like this. The method applied in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. Observations involved SMP / MTs students with data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed online via WhatsApp and research subjects were 30 respondents. From the data that has been received, the results obtained are that most students like the Google Classroom application as an online-based learning medium, obstacles that are often experienced by students include limited quota, unsupportive signals, many tasks, and not understanding the material presented by the teacher. In addition, mathematics is considered difficult due to several factors: (1) using a lot of formulas, (2) not understanding the concept of the material, and (3) the limited space for interaction between students and teachers.

This study aims to determine the application of the Blended Learning Method in PAI learning in the new normal era. This study uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observations and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of this study are: blended learning method is to combine two or more learning methods. Its application to PAI learning at SD Rejowinangun 1 Yogyakarta goes through three stages, namely (1) planning: preparing lesson plans and materials; (2) implementation: online, offline, and face-to-face consultation with health protocols; (3) evaluation. The advantage of this method is that the material can be conveyed comprehensively and the drawback is that it can potentially be exposed to the covid-19 virus because there is face-to-face. The expected positive impact from the results of this research is as information to educational institutions that Blended Learning is an alternative that is very suitable to be applied in the Covid19 Pandemic Era.

Purpose Following the rapid shift to online learning due to COVID-19, this paper aims to compare the relative efficacy of face-to-face and online university teaching methods. Design/methodology/approach A scoping review was conducted to examine the learning outcomes within and between online and face-to-face (F2F) university teaching programmes. Findings Although previous research has supported a “no significant difference” position, the review of 91 comparative studies during 2000–2020 identified 37 (41%) which found online teaching was associated with better learning outcomes, 17 (18%) which favoured F2F and 37 (41%) reporting no significant difference. Purpose-developed online content which supports “student-led” enquiry and cognitive challenge were cited as factors supporting better learning outcomes. Research limitations/implications This study adopts a pre-defined methodology in reviewing literature which ensures rigour in identifying relevant studies. The large sample of studies (n = 91) supported the comparison of discrete learning modes although high variability in key concepts and outcome variables made it difficult to directly compare some studies. A lack of methodological rigour was observed in some studies. Originality/value As a result of COVID-19, online university teaching has become the “new normal” but also re-focussed questions regarding its efficacy. The weight of evidence from this review is that online learning is at least as effective and often better than, F2F modalities in supporting learning outcomes, albeit these differences are often modest. The findings raise questions about the presumed benefits of F2F learning and complicate the case for a return to physical classrooms during the pandemic and beyond.

Blended learning refers to the model of integration between face-to-face learning and online instruction. This model used in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, essential for prevention and control the emerging infectious disease transmission, and enhanced achievement of expected learning outcomes among nursing students. This article aimed to present a blended instruction based on asynchronous and synchronous online learning with face-to-face approach in primary medical care course for nursing students in the new normal era. The instructional design based on the 5 components of the ADDIE model including 1) analysis, 2) designs, 3) development, 4) implementation, and 5) evaluation. The conceptual framework for evaluating blended learning outcomes including 1) learners’ satisfaction, 2) students’ engagement, and 3) course outcomes. It was found that the learners’ satisfaction on blended learning were at high level. Blended learning performs a pivotal role in supporting nursing students’ engagement. All nursing students gained higher scores than the pass criteria. This article determined on improving nursing education through blended learning and extended novel issues for further research and development.
