<em>The objectives of this research is to describe: (1) id psychology on the main<strong> </strong>character in Atheis novel by Achdiat Karta Mihardja; (2) ego psychology on the main character in the Atheis novel; (3) super-ego psychology on the main character in the Atheis novel; (4) the educational value contained in the Atheis novel; (5) its relevance as teaching material in learning literature appreciation in high school.This research uses descriptive qualitative method with psychology approach of literature. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with psychology approach of literature. The data obtained by researchers coming from Atheis novel, interviews with writers, lecturers of Indonesian language studies program, teachers and students. The validity of data is obtained through triangulation theory. Data were analyzed using analysis techniques interactive.The conclusions of this study were (1) the psychology of the main character in the Atheis novel by Achdiat Karta Mihardja is a Hasan character who suffers from psychiatric disorder that is the uncertainty of choosing religious belief (2) there are eleven grades of character traits contained in Atheis novel, they are religious values, tolerance, hard work, social caring, curiosity, friendship, responsibility, self-reliance, peace, discipline, like to read (3) Atheis novel is relevant to the literary learning material in senior high school because it contains many moral messages and good character education value for students.</em>

This study aims to (1) describe the structure of fable and legend of the Nasal region, (2) to describe the educational values of fable characters and the legend of Nasal area and its relation with the material of class smp vii. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, the method is used to describe and analyze the structure of people's crita and the educational values of the character of Nasal society. Source of data in this research is informant. That is, citizens who provide information about all related to research. Data collection techniques in this study there are 3 namely: recording techniques, interview techniques and content analysis techniques The theory is used to analyze the structure of stories using structural theory. The results showed that the folklore of Nasal Kaur community consists of two types, namely legend and Fable. The value of character education found in the legend, that is independent. The value of character education found in fable stories, that is forgiving, ingenious, patient, friendly, hard work, willing to accept defeat. Based on 4 folk stories found, there is a story that can be used as a literary learning material in junior high school because it contains the moral value of education.Keywords: values of character education, folklore, structure

<p><em>The purpose of this study was to describe: the form of ego defense mechanism used by the main character in resolving inner conflicts, character education values, and relevance as literary learning material in high school. This research was carried out with qualitative descriptive method and using literary psychology approach. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the form of inner conflict in the Kaliluna novel: Luka di Salamanca by Ruwi Meita includes the conflict away and the conflict approaching; (2) the form of the ego defense mechanism used by Kaliluna to resolve inner conflicts experienced by the main character in the novel Kaliluna: Luka di Salamanca in the form of sublimation, diversion, aggression, projection, reaction formation, apathy, and fantasy; (3) the values of character education contained in the novel include religious, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, curiosity, national spirit, friendly / communicative, fond of reading, social care, and responsibility; (4) Kaliluna : Luka di Salamanca is relevant to teaching materials for learning Indonesian literature in high school because it is in accordance with the principles of good teaching materials and provides many positive values to be realized in daily life </em><em></em></p>

The aims of this research is to understand the responsibility of Mickey Haller as a lawyer. By using descriptive qualitative method, the writer will describes all things in the movie itself. The data were collected from some sources, such as books in library of Senayan ,Library of STIBA Nusa Mandiri, Google books and Website. The writer found the result of analysis about an interesting character from Mickey Haller as main character. Mickey Haller is a lawyer with high responsibility in his work. It makes him never give up on solving the case at hand. Mickey Haller is known as a lawyer who can acquit his clients from criminal penalties although most of his clients are criminal such bikers, con artist, drunk drivers, and drug dealers. Besides Mickey Haller was responsible for the work, he is also responsible for the safety of his family. He protects his children and ex-wife of the evil people who do not like him. Hedonism is a view of life in philosophy that seeks to avoid pain and make pleasure as the main goal in life. People who embrace hedonism tend to over-pursue pleasure. The hedonism lifestyle is mostly carried out by 18th century people especially the nobles who live in high culture. They are as close to hedonism as they are in the Persuasion novel by Jane Austen. Sir Walter Elliot the main character is a nobleman who did a lot of hedonism. Hedonism which is seen as too glorifying personal pleasure to ignore others. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of hedonism done by Sir Walter Elliot in Persuasion. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because all data are in the form of sentences. The researcher uses a philosophical approach and analyzes data using Weijers' theory as the main theory. The results of this study found that Sir Walter Elliot performed two types of hedonism, namely aesthetic hedonism and selfish hedonism.

<p class="05IsiAbstrak">The aims of the article are to find out: 1) kinds of illocutionary acts which are produced by the main characters in “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” movie, and 2) the most dominant illocutionary acts.  In analyzing the data, the authors used descriptive qualitative method.  The object of this study was main character’s dialogue of “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” movie.  The authors did these following steps: watched the movie, found the transcript, identified the dialogues of main character, classified them using Searle’s theory, and interpreted the meaning of utterances.  Here are 52 utterances with illocutionary acts. The results were: 1) Representative (assertive) (65%), 2) Directive (19%), 3) Expressive (8%), 4) Commissive (6%), and 5) Declarative (2%) in scale of 100%. Representative (assertive) was the most dominant. This study can be a reference for learning pragmatics, especially illocutionary acts. The teachers can also use movie as speech acts teaching media.</p>

The purpose of this study, first, is to analyze the echocritical element reflected by the author through the short story Pegasus Jatuh. Second, integrate ecological values in literature teaching. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is Garrard's eco-criticism. Sources of data obtained from the behavior of characters in the short story. Data analysis begins by marking words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that have a focus on environmental exploitation. The results show in the short story “Pegasus Jatuh”, the author reflects environmental phenomena that include illegal logging, buying and selling protected animals, and exploitation of gold. The analysis applied in literature learning which has an important role in character education. Literature in education has a role to develop the language, cognitive, affective, psychomotoric, personality, and social aspects of students.

The title of this undergraduate thesis is The Psychological Analysis of Jamie Sullivan’s Behaviours in Nicholas Sparks Novel “A Walk to Remember”. The discussion of this study focused on psychoanalysis of the behavior of the main character Jamie Sullivan and the most dominant psychoanalysis concepts of the main character based on Freud's personality theory. Documentation method was applied to collecting the data of this study, which were analysed using descriptive qualitative method; then the result of analysis was presented in the form of sentences using informal method. The result of this study shows that Jamie’s dominant personality in Freud's tripartite personality theory is Superego as she behaves according to the civilized manner. Jamie tends to help others. She makes decisions based on morals and judgments about what is right and what is wrong, and her decisions are based more on moral values.

The purpose of the analysis is to find out the attitude of trust showed by King David in Holy Bible in the book of Psalm. This analysis reveals the attitude of trust that is stated by words in poetry in the book of Psalm. Descriptive Qualitative method is used to analyze primary and secondary data from the book of Psalm and also from the articles or books that support the data by using some steps or procedures that is : to organize and prepare all the data needed, read the data which is the book of Psalm and other references then analyze data by identifying the sentences that represent the statement of having a trust of King David to God. The meaning of this learning both theory and practice is expected to give contribution to the readers about what and how trust is and how they apply it well and correctly. The research was focused on racial discrimination faced by the major characters and their resistances in 12 Years A Slave novel. This study was aimed This study was aimed to investigate the racial disrimination and the resistances in the novel. This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative method. The source of data was taken from 12 Years A Slave novel. The data are collected by using documentary techniques. Instrument for collecting the data is using documentary sheet. The results of this research were the racial discrimination and resistances happened in 12 Years A Slave. The racial discrimination in this novel happened towards the Black People and all discriminated people do the resistances to make their life better. As Northup is the main character so he got the most discrimination, then in the second position is Patsey and the last is Eliza Berry. Meanwhile the resistances done the most by Northup until he finally got freedom, and Patsey also did it twice and Eliza Berry did it three times. It can be concluded that the three major character who are slaves got discriminated and they did the resistances to save their life, even its only Northup who got the freedom in the end.

This study is to find out the relationship of characters to illustrations in a collection of 9short stories from NadiraKarya Leila S. Chudori. In the collection, there are four short stories that contain illustrations of the main characters namely "Melukis Langit”, "Tasbih", "Sebilah Pisau", and "At Pedder Bay". The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method by using Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotic Theory which includes sign and object. The study of characterization or characterization is done in two methods namely direct (telling) and indirect (showing). The results of  this study indicate that out of the 4 short stories analyzed only 3 short stories that have character relationships with illustrations, namely the short story "Melukis Langit", "Tasbih" and "Sebilah Pisau". Short story of "Melukis Langit" depicts Nadira's character who is strong against her father's behavior since the death of his mother. The short story illustration shows Nadira crying in the bathroom to vent her sadness. Short story "Tasbih" describes Mr. X with a mysterious character illustrated by showing Mr. X's face full of mystery while the short story "Sebilah Pisau" tells Kris who is Nadira's secret admirer. Kris's character is displayed with illustrations illustrating the event when Nadira was surprised to see Kris's table filled with Nadira's picture. Short story "At Pedder Bay" tells Nadira's old friend Marc who is also an admirer of Nadira for a long time. The main character, Marc in this short story is not illustrated in the illustration. The short story shows a background, namely the lake and the figure of the woman sitting pensively.
