The objectives of the research were three novels of Asma Nadia which discussed the issue of women. The novels are Surga yang tak dirindukan, Asslamualaikum Beijing, Cinta 2 Kodi. This research used qualitative approach with content analysis method using gynocritic study. The data of this research was obtained through the reading of the novel repeatedly and intensively, identifying, recording, classifying, and testing the validity of the data through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The issues discussed in this research related to Novel Structure and Biology of Women. The findings of this research is recommended in practice for the next researchers who will complete the study of the other side, and to the lectures who want to teach literature, especially the works of literary novels.

ABSTRAKProses mengadaptasi novel menjadi skenario tidaklah mudah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji lebih dalam karakterisasi, struktur, isu sosial, dan dialog. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis) model Philipp Mayring dengan strategi membandingkan isi novel dan skenario film. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini mengungkap adanya pengubahan karakterisasi asli Anya dengan membuatnya menjadi wanita yang lebih tegar dan tahu tujuan hidupnya. Sementara, Ale yang digambarkan lebih cool pada novel, digambarkan sebagai suami yang penuh rasa khawatir dan mudah emosi. Penulis skenario harus memangkas bagian deskriptif panjang dari novel ini menggunakan aksi, dialog, dan karakter lain untuk mengungkapkan karakternya. Novel yang memilki banyak penggambaran isu sosial mengharuskan penulis skenario menyederhanakannya menjadi satu permasalahan saja. Film hasil adaptasi memuat dialog yang baik dan terdengar nyata, singkat dan membuat cerita tetap bergerak serta terhubung banyak tercipta pada skenario.Kata kunci: adaptasi, novel, skenario film ABSTRACT  The process of adapting a novel into a situation is easy. The purpose of this research is to examine more deeply the characterization, structure, social issues, and dialogue. This study uses a qualitative approach with the content analysis method of Philipp Mayring's model with a strategy of comparing the contents of novels and film scenarios. The method used is a qualitative method. This research resulted in changing Anya's original characterization by producing a woman who is stronger and knows her purpose in life. Meanwhile, Ale is described as cooler in the novel, portrayed as a husband full of worries and easily emotional. The screenwriter should trim down the long descriptive part of the novel using action, dialogue, and other characters to reveal the characters. In a novel that has many social problems that occur, it requires the screenwriter to be one problem only. Good dialogue that sounds real, is short and keeps the story moving and connected a lot is created in the scenario. Key words: adaptation, novel, film scenario

NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM NOVEL RANAH TIGA WARNA KARYA A. FUADI Abstract:This research is conducted base on background, that is, moral less of young generation until the generation should have characters. Novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Fuadi describes human who have specific characteristics, such as character of education. The character is shown on speech, behavior, and story of narrator on the novel. This research tends to qualitative approach with content analysis method. The result of this study is five values of education character  in the  novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Fuadi  there are believing and praying for God, truthiness, smartness, strongly, carefully.Key words: Nilai, Pendidikan Karakter, Novel,  Ranah Tiga WarnaAbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan latar belakang, kurangnya nilai moral generasi muda sampai generasi harus memiliki karakter. Novel Ranah Tiga Warna oleh A. Fuadi menggambarkan manusia yang memiliki karakteristik spesifik, seperti karakter pendidikan. Karakternya ditunjukkan pada ucapan, tingkah laku, dan kisah narator pada novel. Penelitian ini cenderung pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah lima nilai karakter pendidikan dalam novel Ranah Tiga Warna oleh A. The purpose of this study is to discover the values of education in the novels "Series of Anak-anak Mamak" by Tere Liye. The novels are more appropriately analyzed by using structural semiotic studies because the sentences used in the author of four novels consist of language styles and idioms. "Series of Anak-anak Mamak" also contain quite a lot of educational values. This study used a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The focus of the research is: the value of education in terms of structural and semiotic theories contained in the novels "Series of Anak-anak Mamak". The finding of this study is a description of the values of education in the novels entitled "Eliana", "Pukat", "Burlian" and "Amelia" by using a semiotic approach. The whole chapters in the four novels contain the values of education when viewed from the structural theory. Total percentage of the values of education contained in the four novels are: (1) honesty amounted to 18.33%, (2) fidelity amounted to 12.50%, (3) tolerance amounted to 8.33%, (4) confidence amounted to 47.50%, and (5) affection amounted to 13.33%. Semiotic studies in this novel are based on the styles of language and idioms, included connotative meanings. The whole chapters in the novel contain the values of education from the semiotic standpoint. Total percentage of the values of education from the semiotic standpoint of the four novels are: styles of language amounted to 57.25% and idioms amounted to 42.75%.

The aim of this research is to obtain a deep understanding of character education in And The Mountains Echoed Novel written by Khalid Hosseini. This research used qualitative approach, content analysis method, through structuralism and  semiotics study. Structurally, character education in this novel found in the theme, the plot, the characters and characterization, and the setting. Semiotically, the researcher found semiotics signs in And The Mountains Echoed novel relating to the character education, namely, index, symbol, and icon. The data were collected through a carefull reading of the novel, identification, and classification. The values taken are the combination between character education value from Pusat Kurikulum Balitbang Diknas and Lickona’s. However not all values are captured, among the 28 values, only thirteen caught from the novel. The values are hard working, religious, responsible, love, integrity, social care, never give up, thanks be to Allah, appreciating achievement, wisdom, creative, curiousity, and friendly/communicative. From the structure of the novel, the character education implemented explicitly and implicitly in the theme, the character and characterization, the setting, and the plot. While from the semiotics, the character education mostly found  in the form of index, followed by symbol,and then icon.

Penelitian ini hendak mengungkap priyayi dan kawula dalam Pasar, sebuah novel karya Kuntowijoyo. Konsep bibit (keturunan), bebet (kekayaan), dan bobot (pengetahuan) yang digunakan sebagai kriteria untuk menjadi priyayi, di zaman modern ini harus kembali ditinjau. Selain priyayi terpelajar, ada dua jenis priyayi lain menurut Kuntowijoyo, yaitu priyayi yang bekerja pada raja dan priyayi yang bekerja untuk kerajaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis konten dalam membedah novel Pasar dengan tujuan untuk mencari kriteria dan jenis gelar priyayi yang bisa diraih seseorang meski ia tidak mempunyai bibit dan bebet priyayi. Hasil penelitian pada novel ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan dapat meningkatkan kelas sosial seseorang sebagaimana yang telah Kuntowijoyo definisikan sebagai priyayi terpelajar.Abstract:The research is intended to reveal the priyayi and kawula concept in the novel of Pasar, by Kuntowijoyo. Three modalities of bibit (descendant), bebet (wealth), and bobot (knowledge) used as a criterion to become priyayi, in this modern epoch have tobe evaluated. Besides educated priyayi, Kuncoro also divides  two other kinds of priyayi ,namely, priyayi who works for the king and the other who works for the kingdom (government). This research applies the content analysis method in order to find the criteria and type priyayi title which can be reached by  someone who does not have the priyayi’s bibit and bebet. The result of the  research on this novel asserts that education can improve someone’s standard as Kuntowijoyo defined as educated priyayi.

The purpose of this research is to gain a deep understanding: 1) The novel structure consisting of theme elements, plot, background, characterization and the message contained in J.K. Harry Potter novels Rowling. 2) The values of character education that include mindset, behavior, attitude, creativity and interest in J.K. Harry Potter's novels Rowling. And 3) The values of character education are viewed from the structural angle of hermeneutics contained in J.K. Harry Potter's novels. Rowling. This research uses qualitative approach with content analysis method, through hermeneutic study based on textual hermeneutic and cultural hermeneutic. The findings of the overall research values of character education in J.K. Harry Potter's novels Rowling's review of hermeneutic studies consisted of: the pattern of pikers amounted to 46 or 58.9%, attitudes amounted to 68 or 94.35% behavior 51 or 53.7%, interest amounted to 30 or 44.6%, and creativity amounted to 42 or 48, 5%. Based on the above data can be concluded from the three of Harry Potter's novels by J. K. Rowling the most is the attitude amounted to 68 or 94.35%. In the development of the story in J. K Rowling's Harry Potter novels emphasizes attitude. Meanwhile, the value of education as the least interest emerging amounted to 30 or 44.6%.

AbstractWoman’s language is a representation system reflecting woman’s views of the world. Such language can be found in oral and written texts, e.g.: novel. In the novel, female language containing certain ideology is identifiable through the interpretation of its vocabularies and grammar. Woman’s choice of words represents certain ideology and her views of life. In this writing, such ideology in woman’s vocabularies and grammar in the novel is studied using qualitative approach and content analysis method based on Fairclough’s theory developed by Santoso. Generally, woman’slanguage in the novel shows a modern and brave point of view of an Islamic boarding school woman to face every conflict in her life. The novel taught us that only knowledgeable and strongly virtuous woman that can withstand and defend her rights among the dominant and powerful people around her. It is shown in her use of words and choice of grammar.AbstrakBahasa perempuan adalah suatu sistem representasi yang mencerminkan cara pandang perempuan terhadap dunia, yang dapat muncul dalam teks lisan ataupun tulisan. Dalam teks tulisan, misalnya novel, bahasa perempuan yang mengandung ideologi tertentu dapat diidentifikasi dengan menafsirkan kosakata dan gramatikanya. Pilihan bahasa yang digunakan perempuan melambangkan ideologi tertentu dan cara pandangnya terhadap kehidupan di mana pun ia berada. Dengan menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi, ideologi yang terkandung dalam bahasa perempuan, khususnya di dalam novel, dikaji berdasarkan kosakata dan gramatika menggunakan teori Fairclough yang dikembangkan oleh Santoso. Secara umum, bahasa yang digunakan perempuan dalam novel Bidadari Bermata Bening menunjukkan cara pandang seorang perempuan lulusan pesantren yang berpikiran modern dan berani menghadapi setiap konflik dalam hidupnya. Novel ini mengajarkan bahwa hanya perempuan yang memiliki pengetahuan dan keyakinan agama yang kuatlah yang dapat mempertahankan dan memperjuangkan hak-haknyadi tengah dominasi dan kekuasaan orang-orang di sekitarnya. Caranya tampak dari penggunaan kosakata dan pemilihan gramatikanya.

The purpose of this study describes the use of language variations found in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach and the method used is a content analysis method that aims to provide an objective picture of language variations in accordance with the data contained in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The data used in this study are written data in the form of novel texts containing language variations in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer published by Mardi Yuana Printing Graphic Printing in 2015. Based on the analysis, there are variations in language in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer namely: Dutch, Japanese, Javanese and English. In the novel Bumi Manusia, Dutch is a variation of language that dominates from other languages ​​because in this novel it is told that there was a Dutchman in the Dutch East Indies. In the novel Bumi Manusia, Japanese is not very visible because Japanese is only a distraction in just one part. Javanese language can be said as a variation of language that dominates the two because in this novel tells the life of a genuine Javanese who falls in love with a Netherland. Same thing with the Javanese language in the novel Bumi Manusia, English is no less in existence with other language variations found in this novel. The significance of the study is to give useful information about the language variation and useful contribution for linguistic and education

Novel Muhammad: Lelaki Penggenggam Hujan karya Tasaro G.K. menceritakan dua kisah, yakni kisah Nabi Muhammad saw. dan kisah seorang lelaki Persia bernama Kashva. Dikisahkah bahwa Kashva pergi mencari lelaki yang kelahirannya telah dijanjikan oleh banyak kitab suci sebagai nabi baru yang akan membawa rahmat manusia dan semesta alam. Di tengah-tengah kisah pencarian itulah terselip kisah Nabi Muhammad Saw. Dari kisah-kisah tersebutlah tersimpan pesan profetik berupa nilai humanisasi (amar ma’ruf), nilai liberasi (nahi munkar), dan transendensi (tu’minu billah). Penelitian ini membahas ketiga nilai profetik tersebut dengan tinjauan struktural semiotik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai profetik dalam novel Muhammad: Lelaki Penggenggam Hujan karya Tasaro G.K. ditinjau dari struktur novel dan semiotik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi model Philipp Mayring kategori deduktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya nilai profetik yakni nilai humanisasi, nilai liberasi, dan nilai transendensi yang begitu melekat sesuai dengan realitas Al Quran sebagai sumber utama ilmu pengetahuan. Selain itu, banyak sekali pengetahuan adab dan karakter yang tercermin dari ketiga nilai profetik yang baik diterapkan di sekolah sebagai suatu bentuk ekspresi dari upaya penanaman karakter pada siswa. The novel of Muhammad: Lelaki Penggenggam Hujan by Tasaro G.K. tells two stories, the story of the Prophet Muhammad and the story of a Persian man named Kashva. It is said that Kashva went to find a man whose birth was promised by many scriptures as a new prophet who would bring grace to mankind and all the universe. In the middle of the search story, the story of the Prophet Muhammad was tucked. From these stories, prophetic messages are stored in the form of the value of humanization (amar ma'ruf), the value of liberation (nahi munkar), and transcendence (tu'minu billah). This study discusses the three prophetic values with a semiotic structural review. This study aims to determine the prophetic value in the novel Muhammad: Lelaki Penggenggam Hujan by Tasaro G.K. in terms of the novel and semiotic structure. This study used a qualitative approach with the content analysis method of the deductive Philipp Mayring model. The results of this study indicate that there are three prophetic values namely, the value of humanization, the value of liberation, and the value of transcendence which is so inherent in accordance with the reality of the Al-Quran as the main source of knowledge. In addition, there is a lot of knowledge of manners and character which is reflected in the three good prophetic values applied in schools as a form of expression of efforts to cultivate character in students.
