Creativity is a person's ability to create something new. Creativity of students need to be cultivated by all of their environment, such as their parents, teacher’s subjects, or guidance and  counseling teacher. This research aims to describe the creativity of the students in SMPN 2 Padang, and describe the efforts to be made by the teacher guidance and counseling in developing the creativity of students. The type of this research is the research of combinations (Mixed method), the populations of this research are 536 people, with 88  samples using proportional random sampling technique. The source of this data research is from primary data collected by using paper test to appereance the creativity (AUKREF) and interviews with the guidance and counseling teachers. The results of this research are: (1) The creativity level of the students are in good category (71.6%) with the average score of student is 54.34. (2) The efforts made by guidance and counseling in developing students' creativity is to create a sense of safe to the students, recognizing the advantages of students creative, strategies or tips in favor of the students to be more creative, to help student who has the creativity to understanding their differences with the other children, give opportunities for creative students to communicate ideas, and provide guidance and counseling services in developing students' creativity. Based on these findings, it hopefully the guidance and counseling teacher can optimize guidance and counseling services in developing students' creativity at SMPN 2 Padang.

The purpose of this research to describe self control and truant behavior students and examine the relationship between self control with the behavior of truant students. This research applied quantitative method and descriptive correlational design, with a sample of 234 students,  that drawn by Propotional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instrument of this research was a scale of Likert model. Hypothesis testing of research using the formula Pearson Product Moment Correlation with SPSS for mindows release 20.00. The results showed: (1) on average,  the truant behavior of class X and XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang was 19.86 hours of lessons in 2 months, (2) on average,  class X and XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang self control was 108.24 at the high category, (3) there was significant negative of self-control with truant behavior of students, with a correlation coefficient -0.289  significance level 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. This research can be used as an analysis of the needs of students for the teacher of guidance and counseling for the manufacture of guidance and counseling services programs at SMA Negeri 7 Padang.

The study aimed at exploring the different types of punctuation errors made by students in their writings, the reasons behind these errors, and the reasons behind the differences in the frequency of punctuation errors made by students from two different sets of universities, with one set belonging to backward areas and the other set to well-developed areas. The universities selected from the backward areas were Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) Kohat, University of Malakand (UoM), Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), Sheringal University (SU) and Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU), Karak and the universities selected from developed areas were National University of Modern Languages, (NUML) Islamabad, International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad, University of Sargodha (UoS) and Gomal University(GU), Dera Ismail Khan. The study used Corder (1975)’s Error Analysis approach for analysing the errors. The study used mixed-method research design. The sample included a total of 200 students, out of which 25 students were selected from each university through simple random sampling technique. Test and interviews were used as instruments for data collection. For the identification of punctuation errors, the students were made to take a punctuation test. A probe was made into the possible reasons behind the punctuation errors by interviewing the students. The data collected was analysed by using content analysis technique. The study revealed that the most frequent errors were errors related to comma, apostrophe, and capitalization. The analysis of the interviews showed that the lack of practice on punctuation marks, lack of teaching punctuation within context, lack of checking of punctuation errors and lack of error corrective feedback on the punctuation errors were the major reasons behind the differences in the frequency of punctuation errors.

<p><em>Evaluation of guidance and counseling services should ideally be conducted periodically and continuously. Appropriate evaluation procedures will provide many benefits for teachers Guidance and counseling. Evaluation gives teacher guidance and counseling feedback to develop and improve programs. Evaluations also provide information to leaders about student development and improvement efforts. Proper evaluation results will help the counselor in achieving the goals of guidance and counseling services. This study aims to determine how the evaluation process is in high school. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are interviews and observation. The sampling technique was carried out through a nonprobability sampling procedure. The results of this study indicate diversity in the evaluation process carried out by high schools. There are 6 (six) types of evaluations conducted by guidance and counseling teachers in high schools. The results of the study also illustrate the evaluation techniques and the purpose of schools conducting evaluations. We hope that the results of this study can provide information to improve the quality of evaluation in the Guidance and Counseling services in Indonesia</em>.</p>

Academic procrastination was one of behavior of students who defer to the task. Academic procrastination was influenced by various factors among which are the locus of control and perfectionist. This study aimed to described: (1) locus of control of students SMAN 10 Padang, (2) perfectionist of students SMAN 10 Padang, (3) academic procrastination of students SMAN 10 Padang, (4) contribution locus of control toward academic procrastination students SMAN 10 Padang, (5) contribution of perfectionist towardacademic procrastination studentsSMAN 10Padang, (6) contribution locus of control and perfectionist toward academic procrastination students SMAN 10 Padang.This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive correlational method. The population in this research were students in grade X and XI of SMAN 10 Padang many as 571 students. Samples were obtained as many 235 students with using Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instruments of this research were the Inventory and Likert scale model. The data obtained were analyzed by using simple regression, and multiple regression.The research finding were: (1) locus of control in average were at internal category, (2) perfectionist in average were atmoderate category, (3) the academic procrastination in average were at moderate category, (4) the locus of control are contribution significant to academic procrastination by 21.3%, (5) the perfectionist contribution significant to academic procrastination by 11.7%, and (6) the locus of control and perfectionist in together contribute significant to the academic procrastination by 24.5%. The implication of this research may useful input to direct the Guidance and Counseling Teacher/Counselors to provide guidance and counseling services especially for personal and of study field. Skills are skills that need to be controlled so that any work or tasks that can be completed and achieve maximum results. A student needs to master many skills learned. One of the skills learned are skills of memory. Skills is very important considering ruled that any information received can be processed, stored and can be used when the information is needed. This study aims to identify the skills of memory students and analyze the utilization of counseling services in the optimization of skills given the student. The population of this research is student counseling Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP). The research sample is student counseling Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) as many as 84 people. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Collecting data using questionnaire instrument learning skills (memory). Data were analyzed using percentages with the help of Microsoft Exel. The research found that the skills of memory counseling students have not developed optimally. Thus, students need to seek out and study methods or techniques memory is good, so that any information received can be processed, stored and reused when the information is needed. Abstract: Improving Guidance and Counseling Teachers’ Skills in the Acquisition of Students’ Psychological Preparedness for Natural Disasters. This study aims to investigate whether there is an improvement of school councelors’ skills in carrying out personal-social guidance and counseling after joining a module implementation training on the improvement of students’ psychological preparedness for natural disasters. This was a quasi-experimental study involving 29 high school counselors in the Province of Yogyakarta Special Territory. The sample was selected using the area quota random sampling technique. The data collecting instruments consisted of a test, scale, and observation. The data were analyzed using the t-test with the SPSS program. The result showed that there was a significant increase in school counselors’ skills, before and after the module implementation training, in carrying out personal-social counseling services with the aim of improving students’ psychological preparedness for natural disasters. Counselor is one of the educators who assist students in understanding their career will live in the future. Specifically for vocational students, information about the types of careers that have been linked to employment, position or career aspired after completing studies in education are taken. The purpose of this study to describe: 1) understanding students majoring in Tourism Vocational Nusatama Padang on the type of career information and a description of the types of careers, 2) attempts to provide insight counselor to students about careers Nusatama SMK Padang Tourism department. The population was 156 students. The number of sample was 111 students and have been using cluster random sampling technique. The findings of the study are: 1) students understand the types of careers and career descriptions are in the middle category, 2) counselor need to further improve the students in understanding the type and career description. Therefore counselors need to improve guidance and counseling services related to an increase students' understanding of career information and descriptions of tourism department, so students are prepared to enter the workforce.

Communication within the family is one of the means of parents instill the values to their children. This research background is the low skilled interpersonal communication of children and their parents. This study aimed to describe and examined: (1) interpersonal communication of children and parents in terms of sex, the last education of parent, and area of residence, (2) differences in interpersonal communication of children and parents in terms of sex, the last education of parent, and area of residence. The research methods applied in this research was ex post facto with factorial design 2 x 3 x 2. The population was students in SMAN 1 Maninjau and SMAN 1 Bukittinggi. The number of samples as much as 263 people were selected by cluster random sampling and combined with the technique propotional random sampling technique. The instruments used a Likert scale. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and using analysis of variance. Data analysis results showed that: (1) the general, interpersonal communication of children and parents in terms of sex, the last education of parents, and area of residence were in good category, (2) there are significant differences the variables sex, in the mean scores of female is higher than male students' the, the last education of parent and area of residence there are no differences significant. The implications of the results of this research can be used as input to create a program of guidance and counseling services, especially in the development of family.

Implementation of individual counseling, guidance and counseling teachers should apply the principle of confidentiality. Reality shows that there are still students who are not open in expressing their concerns. This study aimed to test whether there is a link students' perception implementation of the principle of confidentiality by teacher guidance and counseling with individual counseling student interest. This study belongs to the kind of descriptive correlational. Eleventh grade students study population, sampling using proportional random sampling technique. The results showed there is a significant relationship between students' perceptions of the implementation of the principle of confidentiality by teacher guidance and counseling to interest students to attend individual counseling.

This study aims to determine the emotional intelligence of female students who wear the full face veil. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The sampling technique was carried out with a total sampling of 38 students who wore the veil from several universities in Indonesia. The research instrument uses a Likert-shaped Emotional Intelligence Scale owned by Dika Sahputra. Questionnaires are distributed online through the Google Forms application from November 2019 to January 2020. The results showed that in general the emotional intelligence of students who wore the full face veil was in the high category. These results can be used as a basis for making programs for guidance and counseling services in tertiary institutions, as well as being the basis for policy making for university leaders and the government towards female students and women who use the full face veil
