Problem and goal. Currently, information and telecommunications technologies are widely used in the professional activities of most specialists in various subject areas. This circumstance initiates the training of students in higher education institutions, who must have not only deep subject knowledge, but also be able to master modern information and telecommunications technologies and be able to apply them in their activities. One of the fundamental disciplines that is included in the university curricula for preparing students of physical and mathematical fields of study is Equations of mathematical physics. In the process of teaching students the equations of mathematical physics, the goals are set not only to form students' solid subject knowledge, but also to acquire the skills and abilities to apply modern information technologies in the study of mathematical models based on the equations of mathematical physics. Methodology. Educational electronic resources are used in training sessions on mathematical physics equations. Such training sessions with students take place in the form of laboratory classes, where modern computer technologies are used to find solutions to equations of mathematical physics and then analyze them. Results . The implementation of didactic principles of teaching mathematical physics equations in laboratory classes using educational electronic resources allows students to achieve good results in the methods of studying mathematical physics equations. Conclusion. The use of educational electronic resources in the classroom on the equations of mathematical physics allows students, in addition to deep subject knowledge, to acquire the skills and abilities to use modern computer techno- logies to solve mathematical problems.

Abstract. The introduction of computer technologies into the educational process creates a special information environment that motivates students to learn chemistry disciplines. This facilitates understanding and solving many intelligent tasks, contributes to better understanding and illustrating chemical laws and phenomena. The use of modern information technologies takes students’ independent work to a new level, where both network resources of the university and publicly available Internet resources play a significant role. Responsible use of gadgets transforms them from cheating tools into the powerful source of obtaining necessary information to solve the tasks.

This publication reveals the possibilities of using modern information technologies as a part of the educational process at the university. The authors analyze the modern information technologies used in higher education. The paper formulates the didactic principles of applying modern information technologies and determines their significance. Information technologies implemented in the framework of the educational course “Self-determination and professional orientation of the student’s personality” are examined in detail. The paper describes the conditions for the implementation of this discipline and detailed steps for constructing it within the educational process. It also provides an analysis of the InfoDa distance learning system which is implemented at the FSBEI HE “Moscow State Pedagogical University” and allows running the entire training cycle, starting with the presentation of lecture material and ending with the monitoring of acquired knowledge and skills. Possibilities and features of the application of the InfoDa system are presented on the example of the educational course “Self-determination and professional orientation of the student’s personality”. The paper also shows the effectiveness of using the InfoDa system as modern information technology in the educational process. The conclusion is clear that modern information technologies make the educational process more productive, having a positive effect both on the level of students’ knowledge and on the formation of professionally important competencies.

The article is devoted to the implementation of project method in the information environment, particularly, in social networks. The possibilities of application of modern tools for creating projects on natural and mathematical sciences in secondary and high school are investigated. The preference of a social network "Vkontakte" for the organization of the project activities is proved. There are pointed out the stages of the project, determined the sequence of using cloud storage, search engines, social networks. The influence of modern information technologies and Internet resources on learning outcomes are determined. The examples of projects carried out with the help of modern information technologies and social networks are presented.

This article describes the aims and continuing progress of the Scottish Academic Periodicals Implementing an Effective Networked Service (SAPIENS) project which has been running at the University of Strathclyde's Centre for Digital Library Research since September 2001. Initially funded for two years, the project has been extended until October 2004. The rationale behind SAPIENS is the concern that small Scottish publishers, operating on limited budgets, are in danger of finding themselves marginalised in the modern information environment. The project's primary objectives are to explore the viability of, and launch, an electronic publishing service to assist small-scale Scottish publishers of academic and cultural periodicals to publish online. It has achieved these aims by implementing a demonstration service which is gradually moving into an operational mode, delivering current journals.

The article proposes a model for forecasting the success of student’s learning. The model is a Markov process with continuous time, such as the process of “death and reproduction”. As the parameters of the process, the intensities of the processes of obtaining and assimilating information are offered, and the intensity of the process of assimilating information takes into account the attitude of the student to the subject being studied. As a result of applying the model, it is possible for each student to determine the probability of a given formation of ownership of the material being studied in the near future. Thus, in the presence of an automated information system of the university, the implementation of the model is an element of the decision support system by all participants in the educational process. The examples given in the article are the results of an experiment conducted at the Institute of Space and Information Technologies of Siberian Federal University under conditions of blended learning, that is, under conditions when classroom work is accompanied by independent work with electronic resources.

The article considers the feasibility of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into school education and identifies a problem in identifying didactic elements in the field of artificial intelligence, which must be mastered in a school informatics course. The purpose of the article is to propose variant of the content of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence for the general education of schoolchildren as part of the curricular and extracurricular activities in informatics. An analysis of the psychological, pedagogical and scientific-methodical literature in the field of artificial intelligence made it possible to identify the appropriateness of teaching schoolchildren the elements of artificial intelligence in the framework of a comprehensive informatics course, as the theoretical foundations of modern information technologies. Summarizing and systematizing the learning experience of schoolchildren in the field of artificial intelligence made it possible to form variant of the content of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence, which can be implemented in a compulsory informatics course for 9th grade, as well as in elective classes. The results of the study are the theoretical basis for the further development of the components of the methodological system of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence in a school informatics course. The research materials may be useful to specialists in the field of teaching informatics and to informatics teachers.
