<p><em>Writing is often considered as a complicated skill to master. In order to be able to write effectively, there are several aspects to consider, which often make students face some problems in composing a written text. Thus, the use of the appropriate instructional media is necessary to help students overcome those problems, and enhance their writing ability. This classroom action research aims to investigate the improvement of students’ writ</em><em>ing</em><em> skill</em><em> </em><em>through the use of animation movie as the instructional media. The participants of this research were two observers and </em><em>38</em><em> second grade senior high school</em><em> students</em><em>.</em><em> </em><em>This research used observation as the technique of collecting the qualitative data about the teaching and learning process, which then analyzed by using </em><em>thematic analysis. Meanwhile, writing tests were used to obtain the quantitative data about the students’ scores </em><em>o</em><em>n the test given at the end of the cycles. Descriptive statistics are used to analyse the quantitative data obtained in  this study. The research result showed that their average scores increased from the pre-test (75.68), to the post test in cycle 1 (78.71) and the post- test in cycle 2 (83.55). It indicated that their writing skill was also increased. Therefore, the use of animation movie in English class can improve the second grade senior high school students’ writing skill</em><em>.</em></p>

This research aims to improve senior high school students’ physics problem-solving skills through learning used IBMR learning model. This research was a pre-an experimental study with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The Methods of data collection used validation and test. The materials used to teach were valid category by two experts and can be used to practice physics problem-solving skills. The average post-test score physics problem-solving ability was 73.24 with an N-gain of 0.59 was classified as moderate. The success of IBMR learning model-based devices in practicing problem-solving abilities can be seen in the increase in the average score in each indicator of problem-solving abilities. The indicator of understanding the problem had the highest post-test average score of 94.58 with an N-gain of 0.89 in the high category. The problem-solving indicator had the lowest posttest average score was 58.22 with N-gain 0.39 and mean that it was the moderate category. Based on the results study, it can be concluded that the learning used by IBMR learning model can practice the ability to solve physics problems on heat material and its displacement. Learning with the IBMR learning model was expected to train students in solving physics problems. The stages in the IBMR learning model can help students

This research explored the use of the ICARE Model to studying the writing ability at the Senior high school in Parepare. ICARE includes five essential elements of a good learning experience, can be applied to children, teenagers, and parents, namely Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection, and Extension. This research involved a population from Senior high school in Parepare in the academic year 2015/2016. The students consist of two classes, an experimental class, and a control class. Each class consists of 36 students. This research utilized a cluster random sampling technique to select the sample. The instrument used in this research is the writing test. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The research reveals that there was a significant increase in students writing ability. This finding indicates that the mean score of the post-test of the experimental group is getting much better than the control class. It meant that using ICARE developed the students' ability in writing, and the writing component increased the highest is in the vocabulary aspect.

The main objectives of the research are: (1) to identify whether pictures can improve students’ paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan; (2) to identify the students’s motivation when the pictures are used to teach paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan in academic year 2018/2019. The Research was carried out at SMAN 1 Magetan, East Java, in second semester from January 2019 to May 2019. The subjects of the research are 34 students of grade X. MIPA -1 consisting of 14 boys and 20 girls. The data were obtained from several techniques: test, observation, interview, questioners, and document analysis. To analyze the qualitative data, I used interactive model; while to analyze quantitative data, I applied a descriptive statistics. It is done by comparing the mean of pre-test and post-test. There are some findings of the research which include: pictures can improve students’ paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan. The improvements of paragraph writing skill comprise: (1) writing topic sentence; (2) writing supporting sentences; and (3) using correct grammar and cohesive devices (conjunctions). In addition, the students’ motivation is better when the pictures are used to teach paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that applying pictures as media can improve students’ paragraph writing. Therefore, it is recommended that the teachers can use pictures as an effective media to improve the students’ paragraph writing skill.

The use of technology-based media increases students’ motivation and learning effectivity in the classroom. This research aims to develop, to examine the appropriateness and the effectivity of flash-based media at Senior High School. This development research uses the ADDIE model. Based on the research result, the score of validity trials from the material expert is 72, the score from the media expert is 58 and from the practitioner expert is 75. The assessment from the material, media and practitioner expert show that flash-based media is in the appropriate category. Effectiveness test of the flash-based media development is through the testing of hypothesis, the data shows that for both experimental and controlled class in pre-test and post-test, the score is Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, and the score of the students’ motivation in learning for pre-test and post-test in both experimental and controlled is Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. It means that the flash-based media increases students’ motivation and achievement in the learning process. This research result supports the theories of technology learning, especially for the development of learning aids and media for English subject.

The main problem of this study was Is it effective to teach Passive Voice by using semantic map to the eleventh grade students of state Senior High School 9 Palembang. The method of this study was preexperimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected through two kinds of test, pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using the matched t-test. Based on the result of the data analysis, the students average score in the pre-test was 51,63, and the average score in the post-test was 63,68. The t-table of 5 % significance level was 1.684. It could be concluded the value of tobtained (7,21) was higher than the value of t-table (1.684). It means that Ho was rejected, and consequently Ha was accepted.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning Arabic in improving learning outcomes by using Al-Thariqah Al-Intiqaiyyah in tenth class of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were all tenth classes of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang while the sample was tenth class of science major 8 as a control class and tenth class of science major 6 as an experimental class. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially.  From the test data, it can be seen that the average outcomes of the experimental class and the control class has increased. The average pre-test score of the control class was 55.25 and the average post-test score was 79.25 while the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 55.25 and the average post-test score was 87. Based on the results of the SPSS 16.0 analysis, sig values were obtained. (2-tailed) of the experimental class and the control class post-test was 0.00 which means less than 0.05. So it can be concluded that H1 is accepted then there is a significant difference between the experimental class post-test and the control class post-test. H1 acceptance proves that Al-Thariqah Al-Intiqaiyyah was effective in improving Arabic learning outcomes in tenth class of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang.

Beberapa masalah yang paling penting dalam tulisan siswa diidentifikasi seperti kesulitan mereka dalam mengungkapkan ide dan pemikiran dan dalam menghasilkan dan mengatur ide. Oleh karena itu, teknik Round Table diterapkan untuk mengaktifkan aktivitas siswa dalam bergantian, menanggapi dalam kelompok dan menulis ide mereka di atas kertas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan apakah atau tidak teknik Round Table memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa di SMA Negeri 12 Padang. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa di kelas X SMA Negeri 12 Padang, yang terdiri dari 222 siswa. Mereka dipilih secara acak untuk melayani sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Tes diberikan kepada kedua kelas dengan topik yang sama. Kemudian, post-test diberikan setelah menerapkan perawatan selama lima pertemuan untuk menentukan perbedaan menggunakan teknik Round Table.

Writing is the most important skill in learning a language. Through writing is a way to express student’s ideas, but most students are still deeply mistaken in spelling, grammar, vocabulary and also punctuation. The one way to fix it is to give the students solution with a tool that can help and guide to show their mistake. This research aim of improving students writing skills using Grammarly application. By using Grammarly students are guided to find out students' errors and how to fix it and improve their writing skills using Grammarly application, especially in second grade in senior high school. This research used a qualitative method through pre-test and posttest. The subject of this research is consists of 32 students in second grade in senior high school. The research finding that’s after using Grammarly application can improve student’s ability in writing and express what their thought and felt. It suggested that students should be confident in conveying their ideas into written form as well as maximizing this Grammarly application to help them find errors in writing and can find the correct one. The study aims at investigating the use of think-aloud strategy on eleventh grade students in senior high school. The students are randomly assign to two groups: students in experimental group use think-aloud strategy as their reading strategies in narrative and informative English texts; whereas, students in the control group use regular reading intruction. It is expected that eleventh grade studens in senior high school who apply think-aloud strategy show better reading comprehension than students who do not apply the same strategy. The total of sample in this study are 20 students in the second semester. The study uses experimental as the research approach. The researcher employs pre-test , post test. The tests are made based on a chart that explains the types of comprehension questions developed by Day and Park (2005) which is related to the effort in improving the student’ reading comprehension. The researcher finds that there is a significant relationship between the use of think aloud and overall reading comprehension, inference, prediction, evaluation and personal response comprehension. In addition, the result of the analysis of the pre and post-test scores shows that there is a significant improvement in the students post-test scores in comparison with pre-test scores.

This research aims to reveal to what extent the textbooks developed for senior high school students all around Indonesia have provided or developed the materials for vocabulary learning purpose to promote students’ competence in using English for their daily communication. This qualitative content analysis research was conducted with the content analysis research method and was carried out in Yogyakarta Special Territory from 2018 to 2019. The research data were collected and managed with the help of NVivo 11 Plus and NVivo 12 Plus Software. The data were gathered from three English textbooks for Senior High School Students: Bahasa Inggris X, Bahasa Ingris XI, and Bahasa Inggris XII, all of which were specifically developed by the Indonesian Government to be used by all SMA (Senior High School) students all over Indonesia. To achieve reliability agreement level of data, the Kappa Statistics reliability test was used; the result of which was > 0.75 (excellent). The research result shows that the contents of the three textbooks selected for this research in terms of vocabulary-related materials are not consistent; Not all textbooks and not all chapters presented the materials for the students to learn and improve their vocabulary. It is advisable that the English textbooks prepared all SMA students all over Indonesia develop materials or topics particularly the vocabulary consistently.
