In the current age of globalization there has been a new paradigm shift in the business world and has given rise to new demands on higher education institutions, it is caused by the development of competition which is characterized by interdependence of economic change and the development of information technology as the backbone of the process the business of a company. Competition in the world of college education today is increasingly heavy and important. Each college is required to have an added value in order to win the competition with other universities. The increasing public demand for formal education, especially higher education, makes college as a strategic sector that is expected to produce quality human resources. College success is largely determined by the quality of service provided, which can be identified service quality through customer satisfaction in this case are students and faculty. In order to improve customer satisfaction, to be able to compete in the era of globalization and alsoto provide bigger profit, then every university is doing a research to determine the factors that influence the information systems services to customer satisfaction.

Globalization has influenced the competition paradigm of higher education institutions in the world. The situation keeps changing, depending on the economy and information technology as the backbone of business processes in organizations. Higher education institutions should have added values to win the competition. Furthermore, the awareness of the society about the importance of formal education, particularly higher education, will make colleges/universities strategic institutions generating high quality human resources. The success of col-leges/universities is determined by service quality, which can be identified through the satisfaction of their customers, students and lecturers. To increase customer satisfaction and be able to compete in the globalization era, as well as generate greater profits, colleges/universities need to identify factors which influence information system services to increase customer satisfaction. Employing descriptive analysis, the study reveals that the purpose and service quality of information technology positively affect the teaching and learning process at colleges/universties.

In the current era of globalization the level of competition in the business world becomes increasingly tight. Many are doing small businesses that require capital, or small businesses that are developing to increase the ability of an increasing economy. This relates to one of the most important objectives and should be undertaken by all types of business: maintaining the viability of the company over a long period of time (going concern), business activities sometimes, visiting some things with competition to gain additional capital. This also makes it a challenge for bank companies to showcase their brand and quality of service that is superior and satisfactory to the purpose and number of customers. This study aims to describe the quality of service and corporate image to customer satisfaction PT. Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Gracia Mandiri Bekasi Timur. Samples and this research lied 100 respondents with sampling technique purposive sampling. The method of analysis used are description and regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of service and corporate image include customer satisfaction.

У статті презентовані результати емпіричного вивчення проблеми адаптації професійної освіти до онлайн-режиму в ситуації вимушеного карантину. Мета дослідження полягала в створенні моделі компетенцій викладача / тренера для забезпечення освітньої діяльності онлайн. Обставини гостро актуалізували нагальну потребу забезпечення безперервності освітньої діяльності в нових умовах, показали реальний стан психологічної готовності фахівців освітянської галузі до діяльності в умовах невизначеності. Ключовими ознаками цього стану можна вважати певну фахову та психологічну дезорієнтацію, яка поставила під загрозу якість і сталість результатів освітньої діяльності. Фахівці формальної й неформальної освіти були змушені швидко адаптуватися до нових умов, в основі яких – цифрова трансформація. Фокус уваги нашого дослідження зосереджено на фахівцях, які працюють у сфері післядипломної освіти. Важливим аспектом досліджуваного питання є певна плутанина щодо сутності онлайн-навчання. Це стосується різнотлумачення у середовищі фахівців поняття «дистанційне навчання», зокрема розрізнення синхронного (в режимі реального часу) і асинхронного (у відкладеному часі) режимів освітнього процесу. Принципові відмінності у підходах до методів та психологічних технологій їх застосування вимагають особливої підготовки відповідних фахівців. Результати презентованого дослідження розкривають ряд психологічних труднощів, з якими зіткнулись фахівці післядипломної освіти в ситуації необхідності переведення діяльності в онлайн-режим. В першу чергу, це навчальна діяльність із питань підвищення кваліфікації, проведення навчальних курсів для дорослої аудиторії. Важливим завданням для викладачів / тренерів постало збереження сутнісних ознак і результатів такого навчання: інформація, інструментарій і досвід, які наявні в офлайн-режимі навчання. Основним результатом дослідження можна вважати визначення ключових напрямів психологічної підготовки фахівців до роботи в онлайн: психологічна готовність до управління груповою динамікою та обмеженими комунікаційними інструментами, цифрова компетентність – володіння специфічними цифровими навичками (платформи, програми, окремі інструменти роботи в онлайн), методична компетентність – здатність добирати та поєднувати прийоми й техніки роботи з інформацією, адаптовані до онлайн-середовища. AbstractThe problem of Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia is becoming increasingly complex, this is reflected in the large number of formal education graduates from various levels who are not absorbed in the world of work. Many factors cause this to happen, including the mismatch between HR competencies and the labor market, the growth of the workforce is greater than the availability of available employment and population distribution between regions is not evenly distributed. If you look at the achievements of Indonesian tertiary education graduates, many of Indonesian tertiary education graduates are slow to get jobs, this shows that there is a broken link between higher education and the world of work. Higher education has not been able to produce graduates with high selling prices armed with the knowledge they have learned even though in general higher education graduates have greater employment opportunities than high school or lower level graduates. Many realities on the ground show that the quality of Indonesian people as a potential resource still does not meet expectations. This happens because of the low quality of education in Indonesia. By fulfilling good educational needs, the students will get benefits and can improve the quality of life of the knowledge they have, so that after completing their education, they can get decent jobs or create quality jobs. Indonesia's education world must start to build links with the world of work, so that the world of work responds to graduates produced in accordance with what the world of work wants; this paradigm must be understood and built by the Indonesian government. Education transformation is needed so that education is able to produce reliable and resilient human resources; education and educators must be improved.

Purpose The increasing complexity of higher education has led to the need for a different type of leader that transcends traditional boundaries and individual self-interest. The purpose of this paper is to propose an alternative form of leadership consistent with the unique challenges faced by institutions of higher education today. Design/methodology/approach First, existing research on leadership is explored. Particular attention is placed on identifying the applicability of the primary leadership approaches to the unique organizational environment typically found in institutions of higher education. Transcollegial leadership is then developed as an alternative form of leadership better suited to colleges and universities in today’s dynamic environment. Findings After examining the inadequacies of existing forms of leadership in higher education, transcollegial leadership is introduced as the process involved in leaders systematically, but informally, relating to persons and groups of equivalent authority in different areas of an institution of higher education for its betterment and the advancement of its mission, not for person gain. Practical implications It appears that transcollegial leadership may be specifically suited for institutions of higher education given their unique organizational structure. Transcollegial leadership permits colleges and universities to better utilize the skills and expertise of their members. The skills and expertise of transcollegial leaders not only benefit their home organizational units, but can benefit the entire organization. Originality/value The paper examines a different approach to leadership to aid colleges and universities in facing the challenges of a rapidly changing and increasingly competitive environment.

When you feel yourself beginning to slide down a cliff, you are not likely to think too hard about what it is you grab to stop the fall. But the choice of handholds makes a difference—the difference between continuing to plunge and holding on long enough to plant your feet. As you descend, what seems a vine turns out to be a viper, and what seems a solid trunk proves rootless and tears away. So it is as faculty have contended with the growing shelf of studies criticizing, occasionally analyzing, and mostly prescribing for, higher education. We feel the structure, the norms of our profession, shifting and sliding beneath our feet. We reach for a handhold, a point of stability, and discover, alas, that there’s little that is reliable, much that is frail and fragile. Three of the mid-1980s higher education studies1 were among the opening shots in what has become an extended battle over the character and quality of the institutions in which professors work, as well as over what exactly it is that faculty and staff do. One could, of course, dismiss these and more recent studies, perhaps citing their manifold banalities as sufficient reason for indifference. Or, as faculty, we could acquiesce, agreeing to such changes as the reformists are able to compel, but doing little more than what is necessary to protect our turf. Either course is rationally defensible. Neither is advisable for the academic community. It seems to me that either indifference or generalized resistance would be mistaken—for at least two reasons. First, this has proven to be an unusually strong tide of reform, and even now, half a decade later, it seems still to be waxing. Even from the perspective of strict self-interest, not an unfamiliar ground for academics to stand upon, it would be dangerous to ignore what is a continuing effort to reshape the character of our work and lives. Second, the drive to reform college education presents faculty and staff with an opportunity to shape the direction of change, and in particular to raise what none of these reports really contends with: What political values, what economic forms, what social objectives do we really wish to pursue?

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are developmental hubs that contributes to a country's economic growth through knowledge generation, dissemination and skills diffusion among students. For HEIs to maintain their roles in fostering construction education to equip students for the industry, the current traditional pedagogical approaches are simply not enough to deliver on its mandate. One of the many ways through which HEIs can improve the quality of construction education today is through collaborations with the construction industry. Through a structured questionnaire survey, this paper identified the possible roles that collaboration between HEIs and the construction industry will play in fostering construction education. The sample for this study consisted of one hundred and twenty-six (126) respondents drawn from professionals in the Nigerian construction industry. The study revealed that exposing construction students to the world of work, strengthening universities in conducting quality and relevant research and creating and training students with key skills industry require, are among the benefits of collaboration between the HEIs and the construction industry. The study found that there is an increased need for HEIs to collaborate with the construction industry to be progressive, relevant and produce skilled graduates who will spur the activities of the construction industry. This study recommends that HEIs seek collaboration with the industry so as to address the shortcomings of higher education in Nigeria and Africa in general.

Following WWII, America committed itself to a system of mass liberal education with a core component of the humanities, a system designed to improve the quality of people's lives and strengthen the social bond. This linkage of private and public ends was both symbolized and secured by the combination of public and private support for higher education. Today, the American system is in jeopardy because the private and public entities that support the university have largely turned away from the educational mission even as they have dramatically increased their support for research and other activities. The resulting alteration in the character of the university necessarily comes at a cost to the democratic aspirations and the vision of human flourishing that higher education has traditionally served.

Lithuania having joined the European Union and seeking the education acquired in Lithuania to be internationally recognized, the necessity emerged to match the education standards with the systems of vocational training in European countries. The project plan (2002-2006) of the development of higher education in Lithuania states that the quality assurance is a top priority. The emphasis is laid on the fact that the quality assurance of higher education should not lack behind the one in the developed European countries. The quality assurance of higher education has been under discussion in the few recent years. How should be the studies organized in order to train students to be able to compete in the labor market of the dynamically developing European countries? To determine the dimensions and standards of the education quality that are common to Lithuanian universities and colleges it is essential to regard the worldwide experience and to apply it in the context of our country. The importance has been laid on the quality assurance at the European universities for the recent 10 years. The subsequent organizations were established in different countries all over the world. A number of the agencies dealing with the quality assurance of higher education started the network partnership. The established Centre for Quality Assessment in higher education plays a major role for implementing the external quality assurance policy in universities and colleges of Lithuania by contributing to the development of human resources. The object of this research is to reveal the educators’ attitudes at Marijampolė and Utena colleges towards the establishment of the quality assurance system at college. The research was done in November, 2004 at Marijampole and Utena colleges. There were 120 educator respondents at Marijampole College and 50 respondents at Utena College. 146 of them were lecturers and 24 were the administrative staff. The research done, the conclusions were made that the communities comprising the lecturers as well as the administrative staff of the colleges are concerned about the quality assurance of higher education and studies. The quality of higher non-university studies is being continuously assessed. Moreover, the system of quality assurance is being continuously developed. The educators both at Marijampole and Utena Colleges positively assess their input into the successive performance of the institutions taking an active part in making decisions related to the improvement of the inner system of quality assurance at the institutions. <p>In the business world, customer satisfaction is an absolute must be the goal to achieve success. Due to the achieved satisfaction of the consumers or customers will bring many benefits to manufacturers or institutions, among others, will make consumers become loyal. From the results of research conducted shows that Quality of services provided to tourists have a strong influence on the loyalty of tourists to visit the tourism objects in the area of Yogyakarta. This is evidenced by the results of the r2 of the influence of service quality to local tourists loyalty is about 22.2%. This shows if the service quality provided by the tourism industry in Yogyakarta enhanced within the region will make the travelers loyal to the tourism industry in Yogyakarta. In addition to the quality of services provided to tourist there are other factors that also have a strong influence on the tourist loyalty that tourist satisfaction factor, as evidenced by the r2 value of 15.2%. This suggests that if the tourism industry pay attention to things that could improve the satisfaction of tourists visiting the attractions in Yogyakarta, then the tourists will be eager to visit again or loyal. Meanwhile, indirectly influence the quality of service to tourists loyalty through the satisfaction of tourists who visit tourist attraction in the DIY region have only r2 values of 0.015 or 1.5%. This implies that the satisfaction of tourists is less strong loyalty of tourists who visit tourist attraction in the area of DIY.</p>
