The purpose of the research were to know the errors which have been made by the learners in their English narrative composition and it is also to know why they made the errors, to identify the errors made by the learners, to correct the errors, to improve the teaching quality which is appropriate with the curriculum and the syllabus and to get the data and the explanation about the difficulties in studying English especially in writing the English narrative composition. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Descriptive method means the method which tries to give thedata and the explanation about the recent symptoms. The data was taken from 20 students and it was taken by asking the learners to make the English narrative composition, classifying then analyzing the errors found in their composition.The errors that have been found in the compositions are 30 items or 15% for errors of selection, 25 items or 12, 5% for errors of ordering, 115 items or 57, 5% for errors of omission and 30 items or 15% for errors of addition. Some identifying, classifying, analyzing and correcting the errors have been done to correct the errors that have been found. It was done in order to minimize and avoid the same errors happen again in the learners’ English narrative composition.

<p class="8Abstractcontent">The aims of this research are to know the errors made by the learners on their English narrative composition; to identify the factors made the errors by learners; to identify the errors made by the learners; to correct the errors which have been made; to improve the teaching quality  appropriating the curriculum and the syllabus; as well as to get the data and the explanation about the difficulties in studying English especially in arranging the conjunction of English narrative composition. The method used in this research is descriptive method that gives the data and the explanation about the recent symptoms of the errors made by the learners. The descriptive method consists of the ways in giving the note, the analysis and the interpretation about the recent condition. The characteristic of the descriptive method is to give the existence of the data which is straight to the problems as the recent variables are not manipulated. The research was carried out by conducting a written test of English narrative composition for the learners. After analyzing the data, the findings point out that the errors of coordinate conjunction are 33.3% and the subordinate conjunction is 66,7 %.</p><p> </p><strong>Keywords:</strong> syntactical error, conjunctional, narrative text

<p>ABSRTACT<br />The aim of this research is to know students’ ability in writing an English analytical exposition text. It is also to<br />identify the kind of errors and to percentage those errors. Research method that is used to analyze the error is the<br />method of collecting data through survey and the descriptive method to describe the error that is made by students<br />in writing an English analytical exposition text. After the data had been analyzed, the writer concluded that out of<br />20 research samples, error of addition is the most error made by the student. It is 29.09%. Indonesia's position is relatively very low compared to other Southeast Asian countries participating in TIMSS. From the results of the TIMSS ranking of Indonesian students is low, it is known there are still many mistakes made by students. One effort to solve this problem is to find out where the location  of errors that are often made by students and the factors causing students make these errors. In this study, the method used is a descriptive method that aims to describe the types and factors of student error in solving TIMSS-like domain Data and  Chance problems. The subjects of this study were 3 out of 19 Lembaga Bimbingan Belajar (LBB) Primagama Sukodono students in class IX SMP selected based on the number of errors and variations in the types of errors made during the written test. The results showed that in solving TIMSS-like domain data and chance problems, students made errors in understanding the questions was22.1%, errors in transforming was 9.47% and errors in process skills was 4.21%. The reason students make these errors is students are not careful in reading the questions, do not understand the purpose of the question, wrong in choosing a solution and lack of practice questions. in the recount text. Students errors were analyzed using errors analysis. This research used qualitative descriptive method as the research methodology. The data would be presented descriptively and the result was in explanation of words form which would be following by data presented in form of tables. The errors made by female there are 12 errors of omission, 13 errors in addition, 21 errors in misformation and 1 errors in misordering. while the errors are made by male there are 5 errors of omission, 5 errors in addition, 27 errors in misformation and 1 errors in misordering. The instrument in this research was a test item created by students. From this research it can be deduced that the most mistakes made by female and male are errors in the way of misformation because students lack understanding of how to make stories in the writing recount text. Keywords:  Writing, Error Analysis, Recount text.

ABSTRACT Writing and Speaking are the productive Skills of a language. although higher education students have learned English for years in primary and secondary schools, many of them do not find it easy to speak English in their college years while they will need English during and after they graduate. To improve their English, especially speaking skill, self video recording and diary writing practice was carried out. This study was to analyze the effect of Self Recorded Video and Diary Writing on the improvement of English speaking skill of higher education students. The focus of this research is on four speaking skill categories; Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Grammar and Fluency. to get the answer error analysis is used and the result is presented using descriptive method. The data are students’ self recorded videos and diary writing were carried out once a week once a week  in one semester. The result obtained is that self-recorded video and diary writing can improve student speaking skills especially in fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary. This study aims to explain Indonesian language errors on signboards and banners in Magetan. The problem in this study is the mistake of using Indonesian on nameplate and banners in Magetan. The method used in the compilation of data uses a qualitative descriptive method of phenomenology. The data source in this study is a photo document that results from monitoring the use of Indonesian on signs and banners in the city of Magetan. For data retrieval techniques in this research using sampling snowball. The focus in Indonesian language error research on signboards and banners is on spelling, use of inappropriate sentences and foreign words.

This study aims to determine the influence of principal leadership and work motivation on teaching quality of teachers in  Ogan Komering Ulu Timur  (OKUT) vocational school. The formulation of the problem in this study: (1) is there an influence of the principal leadership on the quality of teacher teaching?, (2) is there an influence of teacher work motivation on teaching quality?, (3) is there an influence between principal leadership and work motivation on teaching quality of teacher in OKUT vocational school. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method to see the effect partially between the existing variables. The results of this study obtained respondents' perceptions of the principal leadership obtained a score range of 116-150 and an average score of 130.79. Respondents' perceptions of performance motivation on teaching quality of teacher were obtained scores of 107-151 with a total score of 20191.00 and an average score of 134.43. The degree of influence of the principal leadership variable (X1) and the work motivation variable (X2) on teacher's teaching quality (Y) was 0.73 or 73%. Shows that teaching quality of teacher (Y) is jointly (simultaneously) influenced by the principal leadership variable (X1) and work motivation variable (X2) by 73% while the remaining 27% is influenced by other factors outside the equation model.

This study aims to describe the errors are found in English Biology Textbook entitled Animal Taxonomy. By using Qualitative Descriptive method, this study classifies the errors based on Dulay, Burt, and Karshen (1982) method about Error Analysis, namely Omission, Addition, Misformation, and Misordering. From the results of the study, it was found that some categories of errors in which Omission Error is caused by the missing of items that need to complete the phrases or sentences. Then, addition error in which the addition of unnecessary items in the phrase or sentences. The next is Misformation refers to wrong form of words. The last is Misordering refers to incorrect placement of a morpheme or a group of morpheme. The errors are found in English Biology Textbook entitled Animal Taxonomy are caused by the different rules of grammar such as the construction of adjective and noun phrase, grammatical endings, the use of tenses, and the use of articles between two languages. From this output, it can be seen that Omission and Misordering are the dominant errors in English Biology Textbook entitled Animal Taxonomy. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct the text in English Biology Textbook entitled Animal Taxonomy to make it useable. Key words: Errors, English Biology Textbook, qualitative descriptive method.

This study discusses language error analysis of the writing of outdoor media in Indragiri Hilir Regency. The objective of this study is to describe the language error on outdoor media in the regency.  The method used in this study is the qualitative descriptive method.  Data of this study are collected from documentation of words,  phrases  or sentences written on the outdoor media in the regency. The data are then analyzed in the following steps; first,  classifying the data based on misspellings and the foreign language (English) words used on the outdoor media; second, reducing the data; third, explaining the correct use of language  on the outdoor media in accordance with Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (General Guidelines for the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling System). The research findings reveal that  there are some mistakes on  punctuation such as period (.), commas (,), hyphen (-), question mark (?), and slash (/), preposition witing of ke , writing of refil dan propinsi, writing of capital letter (G), English structure, and the use of foreign (English) words. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas analisis kesalahan berbahasa pada penulisan media luar ruang di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan berbahasa Indonesia yang terdapat pada penulisan media iklan luar ruang di wilayah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan mendokumentasikan bahasa media luar ruang di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Data dianalisis dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut pertama, pengklasifikasian data menurut kesalahan ejaan dan penggunaan bahasa asing (Inggris) pada media luar ruang. Kedua, reduksi data. Ketiga, menjelaskan penggunaan bahasa yang benar pada media luar ruang sesuai dengan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan kesalahan pemakaian bahasa media luar ruang ini meliputi pemakaian tanda baca khususnya tanda titik (.), tanda koma (,), tanda hubung (-), tanda tanya (?), dan tanda garis miring (/), penulisan kata depan ke, penulisan kata refil dan propinsi,  pemakaian huruf kapital  (G), pemakaian struktur bahasa Inggris, dan penggunaan kata bahasa asing (Inggris).
