The research featured the effect of dominant mental state on professional self-awareness. The survey was conducted as part of personnel audit and involved 113 employees of an agricultural holding with 1–5 years of experience. The empirical data were provided by two questionnaires: Professional Self-Awareness and Determining the Dominant State. The activity parameter reflected the level of claims and setting for professional self-development. As an indicator of professional selfawareness, it is connected with such parameters of mental state as "active (passive) attitude to the life" and "high (low) tonus". The positivity indicator defines one’s acceptance and perception of oneself as a professional. It is interconnected with "vigor" as a mental state indicator. In subjects with an active-positive professional self-awareness, synthonic and active types of mood prevailed. In situations where activity dominated over positivity, active mood also domineered. Synthonic mood dominated if positivity indicators were more pronounced than activity. Subjects with a balanced professional self-awareness demonstrated a happy and enthusiastic mood. Enthusiastic mood prevailed when activity dominated, a happy mood increased with increasing positivity. Passive-negative professional self-awareness was associated with a contemplative mood. The research can help to prevent tonic "risk conditions", e.g. overwork and asthenic conditions. In addition, the study can be used to develop an active-positive professional self-awareness in employees, as well as the sense of vocational and psychological well-being.

Introduction. The article analyzes the problem of professional self-awareness, and the influence of this phenomenon on the process of personal and professional self-development of students. A theoretical study of this problem has shown that professional self-awareness is one of the most important prerequisites for the self-development and self-improvement of university students. Materials and Methods. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the characteristics of self-awareness and self-development of students of the Mordovian State University. A set of methods was used: questionnaire “Ability for self-development” I. V. Zvereva, methodology “Readiness for self-knowledge and self-development” T. A. Ratanova, N. F. Shlyakhta, test “Determination of the level of development of reflexivity” by A. V. Karpov, “Questionnaire of self-attitude” by V. V. Stolin, S. R. Pantileev, methods of researching self-assessment by S. A. Budassi, test “Assessment of self-control in communication” by M. Snyder, questionnaire “The style of self-regulation of students’ behavior” by V. I. Morosanova. Results. Statistically significant correlations between the reflexive, affective and regulatory components of students’ self-awareness and the level of their personal and professional self-development were revealed. It has been found that a high level of development of students’ reflective qualities is associated with their desire for self-knowledge. The connection between self-regulation and readiness for self-knowledge and self-development determines the ability of students to carry out systematic and purposeful work on themselves. It is shown that students with high and above average levels of self-development are aware of the changes taking place in the structure of their personality in the process of vocational training. These students are characterized by higher indicators of reflexivity, self-attitude and self-esteem compared to students with low and below average levels of self-development. Discussion and Conclusion. The results obtained confirm the assumption that personal and professional self-development is conditioned by the students’ ability to reflect and realize their personal and professional qualities.

The level of a person’s activity in the labour market mainly depends on the development of cognitive flexibility – mental ability characterizing the skill of an individual to transform cognitive attitudes adapting to new requirements of the present. The paper presents the results of measuring the cognitive flexibility of labour market members (on a sample of 380 professionally active residents of Novosibirsk). The authors measured cognitive flexibility using the Dennis & Vander Wal Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI) questionnaire adapted for the Kurginyan & Osavolyuk Russian-speaking sample. The respondents were interviewed using the Google Forms anonymous survey tool. The paper aims at the study of special aspects of cognitive flexibility of Novosibirsk labour market participants. The authors studied the relations between the personal data of labour market participants (gender, age, education, marital status, financial situation, degree of activity in professional self-development) and cognitive flexibility (integral indicator and Alternatives and Control scales. The study identified that the respondents of the senior generation had a higher degree of activity in professional self-development and family people had the lower one. The Cognitive Flexibility integral indicator is most positively associated with the level of material well-being of the respondents, their involvement in the professional self-development. The authors mention gender dependence of the respondents’ cognitive flexibility indicators: the integral cognitive flexibility indicator and the Alternative scale indicator are higher in women, and the Control scale indicator is higher in men.

Dispositional self-awareness is conceptualized in several different ways, including insight, reflection, rumination and mindfulness, with the latter in particular attracting extensive attention in recent research. While self-awareness is generally associated with positive psychological well-being, these different conceptualizations are also each associated with a range of unique outcomes. This two part, mixed methods study aimed to advance understanding of dispositional self-awareness by developing a questionnaire to measure its outcomes. In Study 1, expert focus groups categorized and extended an initial pool of potential items from previous research. In Study 2, these items were reduced to a 38 item self-report questionnaire with four factors representing three beneficial outcomes (reflective self-development, acceptance and proactivity) and one negative outcome (costs). Regression of these outcomes against self-awareness measures revealed that self-reflection and insight predicted beneficial outcomes, rumination predicted reduced benefits and increased costs, and mindfulness predicted both increased proactivity and costs. These studies help to refine the self-awareness concept by identifying the unique outcomes associated with the concepts of self-reflection, insight, reflection, rumination and mindfulness. It can be used in future studies to evaluate and develop awareness-raising techniques to maximize self-awareness benefits while minimizing related costs.

Continuing the workshop I've given in the WPC Paris (2017), this article elaborates my discussion of the way I interlace Focusing with Differentiation Based Couples Therapy (Megged, 2017) under the systemic view, in order to facilitate processes of change and healing in working with intimate couples. This article presents the theory and rationale of integrating Differentiation (Bowen, 1978; Schnarch, 2009; Megged, 2017) and Focusing (Gendlin, 1981) approaches, and its therapeutic potential in couple's therapy. It is written from the point of view of a practicing professional in order to illustrate the experiential nature and dynamics of the suggested therapeutic path. Differentiation is a key to mutuality. It offers a solution to the central struggle of any long term intimate relationship: balancing two basic life forces - the drive for individuality and the drive for togetherness (Schnarch, 2009). Focusing is a body-oriented process of self-awareness and emotional healing, in which one learns to pay attention to the body and the ‘Felt Sense’, in order to unfold the implicit, keep it in motion at the precise pace it needs for carrying the next step forward (Gendlin, 1996). Combining Focusing and Differentiation perspectives can cultivate the kind of relationship where a conflict can be constructively and successfully held in the inner world of each partner, while taking into consideration the others' well-being. This creates the possibility for two people to build a mutual emotional field, open to changes, permeable and resilient.

This chapter critically examines two of John Stuart Mill’s consequentialist objections to paternalism: that paternalistic authority is likely to be misapplied or abused and that intervention in the self-regarding sphere threatens individuality and self-development. It is argued here that both objections can be resisted. Concerns about misapplication and abuse pose no challenge to intervention that is likely to succeed in achieving its benevolent aims, and attempts to avoid this problem by construing Mill’s arguments in rule-consequentialist terms are unconvincing. Concerns about Millian individuality or self-development leave considerable room for justified paternalism, both because individuality is not the only component of well-being and because paternalistic intervention can sometimes promote individuality. Mill’s arguments may show that there ought to be some institutional constraints on the government’s ability to intervene in the self-regarding sphere, but defenders of paternalism can happily accept this result.

The research relevance is connected with the orientation of the modern model of education towards the formation of a competitive creative personality, with the need for constant self-improvement and self-development. It should be noted that the effectiveness of student learning is largely determined by the level of motivation, interest and personal participation of subjects. Therefore, the article is aimed at disclosing mechanisms for the development of students' learning motivation through a system of differentiated tasks. The leading approach to study of a problem was a personal approach, the purpose of which is to identify the issue under discussion from the point of view of dialogism, subjectivity and individuality. This document presents the characteristics of the developed and tested system of differentiated problems of mathematics, focused on the development of student learning motivation, as well as the provision of empirical data on the results of implementation. It also describes the principles on which we defined three levels of tasks in mathematics: “palgorithms”, “tasks of finding tasks” and “creative tasks”.
