People consume mushrooms as a snack, side dishes, and also as a main dish. The mushroom business in Malang Indonesia is very lively, especially in this city, there are many students and employees as consumers who like snacks on the sidelines of their activities. Leading competitiveness in the product are the factors that must be kept by companies to be successful in their business. This research aims to understand the effect of tangible resources, entrepreneurship orientation, business uncertainty on competitive strategy, and the influence of competitive strategy on the company’s performance. The research uses methods such as quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). Strategic resources, entrepreneurial orientation, and environmental uncertainty of mushroom small-medium enterprises have a direct effect more than an indirect effect. Strategic resources have the strongest significance if it is compared to entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial uncertainty. Further research is needed to see the effect of competitive strategy on business performance.

This research processed 50 samples consisting of 1 - 3 star hotels, budget hotels (non-star ones) and guesthouses. The data collection method was collected by spreading out questionnaire form to the respondents. Furthermore, the data was processed using analysis tool known as Partial Least Square (PLS). The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine (1) competence, (2) work motivation, (3) employee performance, and (4) the effect of competence and work motivation on employee performance. This type of research is descriptive and verification using explanatory survey research methods, and to test the hypotheses of this research will be analyzed using a structural equation model (Structural Equation Model, SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) alternative method using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of testing the first hypothesis show that there is a significant correlation between competence and work motivation at the Ariyanti Education Foundation. The results of the second hypothesis show that competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Ariyanti Education Foundation. The third hypothesis shows that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Ariyanti Education Foundation. The fourth hypothesis shows that competence and work motivation together have a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Ariyanti Education Foundation. So it is clear that competence, work motivation and employee performance are interrelated. This must be considered because there is a mutually influencing relationship between the three. So that the development of competence and good work motivation will be able to improve the performance of these employees.

BUMDes is one of the income sources for the village managing assets, services, and other businesses for the village community's welfare. BUMDes empowers rural communities as an autonomous region in increasing productive efforts to alleviate poverty and unemployment. Therefore, the measurement of BUMDes's performance needs to be done through the level of local resources used and the implications of the results achieved. It was required to formulate appropriate development policies so that BUMDes have high competitiveness and fulfill their role in increasing the community's economic independence. This study was conducted in East Java BUMDes because East Java province is the third province with the largest number of BUMDes in Indonesia, so it was quite representative to represent the presence of BUMDes in Indonesia. This research used a quantitative approach carried out using the structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS) method with the Resource-based View (RBV) approach to measure the effect of BUMDes resources used on its competitiveness. The analysis showed that structural capital had a positive effect on human capital and relational capital. Human capital had also been proven to have a positive effect on relational capital. The indicator that influenced competitive advantage was human capital. Training is needed to increase the human resources capacity, online marketing training and organizational reform, infrastructure, and professional management systems need to be done.

The purpose of this research is to better understand the impact of supply chain management (SCM) and flexibility on firm performance, as well as the role of competitive advantage in mediating the model in Indonesian agriculture companies. Companies must apply supply chain management and supply chain flexibility (SCF) to boost industrial competitiveness, which impacts firm performance. To ensure that supply chain management supports the company's strategy, companies must evaluate supply chain concerns. From the literature search, researchers have not found any published studies or articles on SCM and SCF in their influence on firm performance through competitive advantage, specifically for corn companies in Indonesia. The population in this study includes agriculture companies in Indonesia. Sampling was carried out using probability sampling technique, the total population of 200 obtained a sample size of 133.333 which can be rounded up to 134 research samples. The inferential statistical method used in the data analysis of this study was the Partial Least Square Version 3 program. The study found that SCM influenced firm performance and SCF had a direct influence on firm performance. However, competitive advantage variable failed in being a mediator in SCM and SCF on firm performance.

This research aims to examine and analyze the influence of differentiation strategy, market orientation, and innovation in an effort to build a competitive advantage for the performance of the company improves on star hotels in the city of Semarang. The respondents in this research are the Manager of star hotels in the city of Semarang, the size of respondents in filling in the questionnaire is 63 (sixty-three) people. However, for some reason, 22 (twenty-two) respondents are not willing to do the filling out the questionnaires which resulted in the final sample size is 41 (forty-one) respondents.in this case, the tool used in the study is the analysis of Partial Least Square (PLS). Prior to testing the researchers first tested the questionnaire by means of the validity test and reliability test. Test validity is to see the questionnaire is valid or not, and the reliability test is meant to see the questions distributed reliable or not to do further testing. The empirical findings indicated that the differentiation strategy has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; innovation has a significant positive effect on firm performance.

How do innovation ecosystems affect the technological innovation capabilities (TICs), as defined by Yam et al. (2004), and company performance? Empirical data was acquired through a survey of 75 maritime equipment suppliers in an industry cluster in Norway. Regression analysis was supplemented with partial least square methods in order to compensate for the low number of respondents. Significant effects were found for manufacturing and marketing capabilities on company performance. The results for organisational capability were method dependent. Learning, R&D, resource allocation and strategic capabilities were identified as insignificant. These results conflict with other studies that identified manufacturing capabilities as the only insignificant TIC construct. However, the findings are partially in line with studies that have questioned learning, organising, and resource capabilities as drivers for competitive advantages. The moderating effect of cluster interaction and manufacturing capability on performance is coherent with prior research, but further research is needed for a deeper understanding of these interaction effects.

This study aims to see the effect of VACA, VAHU, STVA, and VAIC on financial performance and competitive advantage, as well as the role of competitive advantage in mediating the effect of VACA, VAHU, STVA, and VAIC on financial performance. The population in this study is Islamic commercial banks registered with the financial services authority in 2016-2018. The sample of this research was selected by sampling criteria. Hypothesis testing used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach and the statistical test tool used is WarpPLS 7.0. The results of this study indicate that VACA has a positive influence on financial performance, VAHU has a negative influence on financial performance while STVA and VAIC do not affect financial performance. Furthermore, this study found that VACA, STVA, and VAIC had a positive effect on competitive advantage and competitive advantage also has a positive effect on financial performance. This research also found that, while VAHU did not affect the competitive advantage that competitive advantage plays a role in mediating the effect of VACA and VAIC on financial performance, whereas competitive advantage does not mediate the effect of VAHU and STVA on financial performance.
