The paper focuses on the results of the International Scientific Conference held in Kursk. It explored the relationship between culture and man, the dialectical connection of the theory and practice of modern art education. The participants analysed the evolution of meanings and values of culture in the conditions of a post-industrial, “digital” civilization, drew attention to the artist’s mission of promoting spiritual development, learning, preservation and enhancement of aesthetic values. They discussed issues of training talent in fine art, design, architecture. A special concern of the forum participants is the “computerization” of art, its transformation from a creative sacrament into “technology”, into the mainstream production of “mass culture” products.

A fundamental component in professional education is the link between theory and practice. However, students in professional education programmes experience a lack of coherence between theory and practice which is often described as theory practice gap. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between theory and practice in MA Education Programmes offered by International Islamic University and to contribute with knowledge about how to bridge the gap between theory and practice in teacher education programme. Data were obtained through focus group interview with 40 MA Education female students who completed their four months teaching practice in December 2011. Data reveal that student teachers are quite satisfied with their pedagogical preparation and find difference in theory and practice in teacher education institutions and practice schools in Pakistan. Data indicate that student teachers were not allowed by schools to implement their learnt teaching strategies.

<p>Several thinkers developed theories to understand the learning process and make it more effective. Clark Leonard Hull, Donald Olding Hebb, and Kurt Lewin are three theorists who, in different contexts, contributed to this debate. This paper aims to study the contribution of these authors to understand the role of contextualized and motivational educational practices in the learning process. Therefore, we developed exploratory research with qualitative/quantitative aspects. In addition to the theoretical study, we wrote a report of the experience on a technical visit to Engenho Triunfo - Areia (PB) with 22 postgrad students in Professional Education, accompanied by a team of five professors. They completed an online self-elaborated questionnaire about the topic of the research. Results indicated that Hebb’s study of neural networks of the learning and motivation curve proposed by Hull, and Lewin’s idea of living space, help us to theoretically understand the importance of contextualized and motivational education for the learning process. The analysis of the experience of the technical visit corroborated this idea, as participants attested to the contribution of this experience to learning through contextualization, the relationship between theory and practice and interdisciplinarity and motivation.</p>

The aim of this research is to investigate the reasons why David Hockney addresses daily objects in his works. At the same time, it aims to reveal the nature of the relationship between popular culture and daily objects. Thus, the types of differences between Hockney and his contemporaries will be identified; while determining how pop artists reflect popular culture on their works. The scope of the research includes an analysis of David Hockney’s works. By including works from artists such as Henri Mattise, Andy Warhol, and Fikret Mualla; their relation to the subject has been presented. The subject of this research bears importance in terms of providing a criticism of current issues that are based on daily objects in art. Therefore, the research is divided into artists and eras that can serve as a reference for daily objects and popular culture imageries. The research problems can be listed as: what are the characteristics that separate David Hockney from his contemporaries, why does David Hockney require daily objects in his art works? What is the nature of the relationship between daily objects and popular culture? Are daily objects in art a product of popular culture? In what context do the works of Hockney and Matisse show similarities? What is the connection between daily objects and Duchamp? Are daily objects in art a critique of modern art? It is expected that the answers to all these questions will shed a light on popular culture imageries and art today, along with David Hockney’s works. Thus, once more, this study intends to create awareness to the association of “art and life,” which is frequently used alongside modernism. The phenomenon of economic growth is studied by economists and statisticians in various aspects for a long time. Economic theory is devoted to assessing factors of growth in the tradition of R. Solow, R. Barrow, W. Easterly and others. During the last quarter of the century, however, the institutionalists, namely D. North, D. Wallis, B. Weingast as well as D. Acemoglu and J. Robinson, have shown the complexity of the problem of development on the part of socioeconomic and political institutions. As a result, solving the problem of how economic growth affects inequality between countries has proved extremely difficult. The modern world is very diverse in terms of development level, and the article offers a new approach to the formation of the idea of stylized facts using cluster analysis. The existing statistics allows to estimate on a unified basis the level of GDP production by 174 countries of the world for 1992—2016. The article presents a structured picture of the world: the distribution of countries in seven clusters, different in levels of development. During the period under review, there was a strong per capita GDP growth in PPP in the middle of the distribution, poverty in various countries declined markedly. At the same time, in 1992—2016, the difference increased not only between rich and poor groups of countries, but also between clusters.

The qualitative and clear definition of the legal regime of the capital of Ukraine, the hero city of Kyiv, is influenced by its legislative enshrinement, however, it should be noted that discussions are ongoing and one of the reasons for the unclear legal status of the capital is the ambiguity of current legislation in this area. Separation of the functions of the city of Kyiv, which are carried out to ensure the rights of citizens of Ukraine and the functions that guarantee the rights of the territorial community of the city of Kyiv. In the modern world, in legal doctrine and practice, the capital is understood as the capital of the country, which at the legislative level received this status and, accordingly, is the administrative and political center of the state, which houses the main state bodies and diplomatic missions of other states. It is the identification of the boundaries of the relationship between the competencies of state administrations and local self-government, in practice, often raises questions about their delimitation and ways of regulatory solution. Peculiarities of local self-government in Kyiv city districts are defined in the provisions of the Law on the Capital, which reveal the norms of the Constitution in these legal relations, according to which the issue of organizing district management in cities belongs to city councils. Likewise, it is unregulated by law to lose the particularity of the legal status of the territory of the city. It should be emphasized that the subject of administrative-legal relations is not a certain administrative-territorial entity, but the social group is designated - the territorial community of the city of Kiev, kiyani. Thus, the provisions on the city of Kyiv partially ignore the potential of the territorial community.

La formación inicial del profesor de la Educación Técnica y Profesional (ETP), debe estar en correspondenciacon la integración del conocimiento científico, el acelerado desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnologíay las exigencias en la formación de las nuevas generaciones. Esta investigación aborda la problemáticaplanteada en la formación de profesores para la Carrera de Informática y asume como problemacientífico: “¿Cómo contribuir al desarrollo de una cultura científica como base para una participaciónciudadana responsable, en la formación inicial del profesor para la ETP en la Carrera Informática?”. La metodología utilizada constituye una integración de métodos teóricos y empíricos, lo que permitióla elaboración de la propuesta. Se trabajan y sustentan los antecedentes teóricos y metodológicos delproceso de formación inicial del profesor para la Educación Técnica y Profesional. Finalmente, se brindan los resultados de la aplicación de la consulta a expertos como comprobación teórica del mismo ysu aplicación parcial en la práctica. El fundamento teórico y las relaciones sistemáticas que se establecenentre los componentes, constituyen el principal aporte teórico y novedad de la investigación.   Palabras Clave: participación ciudadana, cultura científica, formación inicial, educación técnica y profesional.   ABSTRACT   The basic formation of teachers in Technical and Professional Education (TPE) must be in correspondencewith the integration of scientific development, the accelerated development of science and technology, and the educational demands of the new generations.  This research addresses the stated problem in the formation of teachers for the Informatics Career and assumes the scientific problem: How to contribute to thedevelopment of a scientific culture as the basis of a responsible citizen participation, in the initial formation of the ETP teacher in the Informatics Career? The methodology used integrates both theoretical and empiricalmethods which helped to build up this proposal.  Historical and methodological background of the formation process are worked out and supported.  Finally, results of the application of expert consulting as averification in theory and practice. ›Ikonen‹ sind heute nicht mehr nur die Ikonen der christlichen Kirche, sondern vor allem die Ikonen der modernen Massenkultur. Beide Arten von Ikonen werden in der neueren Kunstreflexion aufgegriffen: Kunst gilt entweder, verstanden als Erbin der religiösen Ikone, als Phänomen, das Absolutes in singulärer Weise anschaulich er- fahrbar macht. Oder aber die Kunst gilt umgekehrt lediglich als Klasse in der Welt der säkularen Ikonen. Demgegenüber wird im Beitrag erstens die These vertretenwerden, daß die neuere Kunst sowohl Aspekte transzendenter als auch immanenter Ikonen umfaßt. Zugleich ist es aber, so die zweite These, für unser Kunstverständnis charakteristisch, ein theoretisches Kontrastverhältnis zwischen Kunst und Ikone an- zunehmen. Dieses gründet auf einer spezifischen Reflexivität der Kunst, durch die sie sich von der Ikone beiderlei Art kategorial unterscheidet. Today, the word ›icon‹ usually no longer refers to the icons of the Christian church, but to the icons of the modern mass-culture. Both sorts of icons play a key-role in the recent discussion about art: Either art is supposed to be a descendant of the religious icon, a phenomenon that gives us a singular visual experience of the Absolute. On the other hand, art is supposed to be just one class among others in the wide world of the secular icons. In contrast to these two positions this essay contends that modern art comprehends aspects of transcendent as well as of immanent icons. Furthermore, it argues that at the same time it is characteristic for our notion of art to suppose a contrast between art and icon. This contrast is based on a specific reflectivity of art, which marks a categorical difference between art and both sorts of icons.

The article examines the philosophy of Henri Bergson and William James as independent doctrines aimed at rational comprehension of spiritual reality. The doctrines imply the paramount importance of consciousness, the need for continuous spiritual development, the expansion of experience and perception. The study highlights the fundamental role of spiritual energy for individual and universal evolution, which likens these doctrines to the ancient Eastern teaching as well as to Platonism in Western philosophy. The term “spiritual energy” is used by Bergson and James all the way through their creative career, and therefore this concept should considered in the examination of their solution to the most important philosophical and scientific issues, such as the relationship of matter and spirit, consciousness and brain, cognition, free will, etc. The “radical empiricism” of William James and the “creative evolution” of Henry Bergson should be viewed as conceptions that based on peacemaking goals, because they are aimed at reconciling faith and facts, science and religion through the organic synthesis of sensory and spiritual levels of experience. Although there is a number of modern scientific discoveries that were foreseen by philosophical ideas of Bergson and James, both philosophers advocate for the artificial limitation of the sphere of experimental methods in science. They call not to limit ourselves to the usual intellectual schemes of reality comprehension, but attempt to touch the “living” reality, which presupposes an increase in the intensity of attention and will, but finally brings us closer to freedom.

Dr. Edwards Deming, whose 120th birthday falls on October 14, 2020, has made outstanding contributions to management theory and practice, mathematical statistics and many other areas of human endeavor. This work, written for the anniversary of E. Deming, examines the paradoxes arising from his teachings. They relate, inter alia, to competition, motivation and remuneration, the use of sampling methods, on-the-job training, operational definitions and much more. Resolving these paradoxes is the path to a deeper understanding of the modern world and to the improvement of management practice. Already during Deming’s lifetime, numerous attempts were made to revise his teachings, and now there is a desire to abandon the use and development of his heritage. This is alarming and worrying.

Autobiographic and narrative research has recently grown in stature in the field of social sciences. Inspired by Asian TESOL researchers’ critical analyses of self-stories, this paper attempts to reflect upon the author’s personal history in relation to English and discuss ways in which she can position herself as both an English learner and a non-native English speaker (NNES) teacher. The self-reflection and discussion is followed by an argument for performativity, a notion drawing on poststructuralism to understand language itself and the global spread of English. This paper, itself a performative act conducted by a secondary school teacher, exemplifies the concept. The non-academic schoolteacher’s very act of writing in an academic journal aims to contribute to questioning assumptions underlying the relationship between theory and practice and to reconstituting the academic fields of applied linguistics and TESOL. 近年、自伝的かつ語りを含む研究が社会科学の分野で活発になってきている。本稿では、TESOLを専門とする、あるアジア人研究者が彼女たち自身の物語を素材として実施した批判的分析に着想を得て、英語にまつわる自己の歴史を振り返り、英語学習者としての、またNNESの英語教師としてのポジショナリティをどこに位置づけるのかという問題について議論する。さらに、この批判的自己内省を経て、言語そのもの、あるいは英語という言語の地球規模的広がりを理解するために、ポスト構造主義の概念であるパフォーマティヴィティについて検証する。なお、本稿これ自体がある高校教師によるパフォーマティヴな実践であることに言及しておきたい。研究者ではなく、一高校教師が学術雑誌に投稿することを通じ、理論と実践の関係性の背後にある前提に疑問を投げかけ、その結果、応用言語学やTESOLという学問分野の再構築に貢献できることを希望している。
