Conversational agents, also known as chatbots, are automated systems for engaging in two-way dialogue with human users. Nowadays the use of Chatbots is very popular in a large scale of applications especially in systems that provide an intelligence support to the user. In fact, to speed up the assistance, in many cases, these systems are equipped with Chatbots that can interpret the user questions and provide the right answers, in a fast and correct way. Chatbots typically provide a text-based user interface, allowing the user to type commands and receive text as well as text to speech response. When chat bot technology is integrated with popular web services it can be utilized securely by an even larger audience. The student information chat bot will analyse user’s queries and understand user’s message for appropriate response generation. This System will be a web application which provides answer to the query of the student very effectively. Students just have to put their query to the bot which is used for chatting. The system will use the algorithms to give appropriate answers to the user. If the answer is found invalid, then there is an option to report to admin so that the users query will be satisfied. These invalid questions can be deleted or modified by the admin of the system and an appropriate answer can be embedded in the database. The student will not have to go to the college for enquiring something. Student can use the chat bot to get the answers to their queries. Students can use this web based system for making enquiries at any point of time. This system may help students to stay updated with the college activities.

Information systems are currently increasing very rapidly, but it is unfortunate if the utilization is not yet optimal. Reviewing the data from literature studies and observations that have been made, many people need sewing services. The drastic increase in demand makes competition in the convection industry. Most of the work systems in the convection industry are done manually and are not economical. Product development also lacks creativity. Therefore, this researcher will use IT as marketing and design work, this can make processing time shorter and more optimal. Thus, customers will be facilitated in ordering ready-made clothes or clothes that match the customer's wishes by using a web application that only sends data on the size of the clothes or clothing model that the customer wants. This web-based application system can make it easier for customers to transact with the owner and transactions do not have to meet face to face. In addition, clothing sales and large-scale orders can be neatly organized and financial reports can be well structured and organized clearly. The results of this research will be in the form of research reports and web-based online sewing service information systems using the waterfall method.

Examinations are an indispensable part of a student’s life. In the conventional mechanism, the question paper generation is time-consuming work for the faculty members of the educational institution. Every educational institute mandatorily expects exam setters to follow its own typesetting format. We have designed the automated question paper setting software to be user-friendly so that, paper setters can overcome from the typographic problem. Presently in most of the educational institutions question papers are set manually. It is time-consuming work and there may be chances of repetition of the same questions. So, in order to make the question paper generation more convenient to use, the web application is developed using Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) that can be accessed from LAN/Intranet.The application comes with the Admin Module and Teachers Module. The Admin grants access to the users by registering them. The faculty can access the system once they are registered. The faculty can enter questions in the database daily as per their free time. In this way, the question pool can be generated. The questions are approved by the chairperson and substandard questions are discarded. The question paper is then generated by selected course experts. The Fisher-Yates Shuffling algorithm used to choose questions randomly from the pool of questions from the database. Text Mining Algorithm aids in duplicity removal from the paper. The generated question paper will be in Word Format. In our application, we assure better security, removal of duplicity, cost-effectiveness, and human intervention avoidance. It can be used by small-scale and large-scale institutions.

Web-based systems and applications now deliver a complex array of functionality to a large number of diverse groups of users. As our dependence and reliance on the Web has increased dramatically over the years, their performance, reliability and quality have become paramount importance. As a result, the development of Web applications has become more complex and challenging than most of us think. In many ways, it is also different and more complex than traditional software development. But, currently, the development and maintenance of most Web applications is chaotic and far from satisfactory. To successfully build and maintain large, complex Web-based systems and applications, Web developers need to adopt a disciplined development process and a sound methodology. The emerging discipline of Web engineering advocates a holistic, disciplined approach to successful Web development. In this chapter, we articulate and raise awareness of the issues and considerations in large, complex Web application development, and introduce Web engineering as a way of managing complexity and diversity of large-scale Web development.

This work describes a large-scale empirical study that quantifies two aspects of lexical foregrounding in literary texts: the unpredictability (unexpectedness) and constrainedness (irreplaceability) of individual words in context. The data are generated by a Web-based literary game where players guess words in fragments of real texts. The results shed new light on the nature of the distinction between poetry and prose and on the role of formal constraints in poetry. In particular, traditional poetry tends to have higher constrainedness than prose and comparable unpredictability, while avant-garde poetry is characterized by higher unpredictability than prose and comparable constrainedness.

As traffic simulation software becomes more effective for realistically simulating and analyzing traffic dynamics and vehicle interactions on the mesoscopic and microscopic level, the management, dissemination, and collaborative visualization of traffic simulation results produced by individual transportation planners presents a significant challenge. Existing online content management systems have a very limited capability in allowing users to query specific traffic simulation scenarios and geospatially visualize simulation results through shareable and interactive web interfaces. This paper presents a web-based application for promoting the archiving, sharing, and visualization of large-scale traffic simulation outputs. The application is developed to enhance cyber-physical controls, communications, and public education for collaborative transportation planning. Unique features of the web application include: (a) allowing users to upload their new traffic simulation scenarios (parameters and outputs), as well as search existing scenarios using easily accessible interfaces; (b) optimizing simulation output files with heterogeneous data formats and projected coordinate systems for web-based storage and management using a scalable and searchable data/metadata standard; (c) standardizing user-uploaded simulation outputs using web interfaces and data processing libraries with parallel computing capacity; and (d) providing shareable web visual interfaces for visualizing the traffic flow and signal information stored in simulation outputs (e.g., regional traffic patterns and individual vehicle interactions) and visually comparing multiple simulation outputs both spatially and temporally. The paper presents the conceptual design and implementation of this application, and demonstrates the application’s performance for sharing, comparing, and visualizing simulation outputs from VISSIM and SUMO, two commonly used traffic simulation software programs.

Convenience is one of the key factors that support the success of information system implementation, and it is affected by how the system supports users to quickly get their job done. For the case of institution XYZ, the process of data recording of a managerial mutation requires a number of steps. System operators found it cumbersome to go through too many steps when recording such data because it takes a long time to complete the task. The situation is exacerbated for recording a decree with several job assignment changes. To overcome this problem, we have developed an application that applies single page model and replaced the legacy system that applies standard web pages. The use of a single page web-based applications reduces the amount of data that are transferred between client and server so it is more efficient in terms of processing speed compared to the standard web application. The implementation of single page application in institution XYZ drops the number of data transfered to the level of 62% for recording a single job assignment. The percentage level is smaller when a process contains a lot of job assignment, as happened in the case of large-scale mutation.

Keywords: single page application, job assignment, information system

Heavy Equipment Study Program, Jakarta State Polytechnic, has a warehouse that aims to store spare parts. These spare parts are used to meet the practical needs of students when lectures take place every semester. During this time, to lend and report spare parts, heavy equipment warehouse technicians still use forms and spare parts cards. This method is less effective when the stakeholders such as the Head of Workshop and Head of Study Program want to know the amount of spare parts stock that is still owned by the warehouse or data warehouse cannot be seen in real time. From these problems, the warehouse needs a way to speed up the process. One method that can be used to overcome this problem is to create a web-based system or application that can carry out an inventory, record, process, and report the spare parts data contained in the heavy equipment warehouse. This writing aims to design and build warehouse management applications for heavy equipment spare parts. So, with this web-based application, stake holders can view reports from the warehouse with the right target, accurate, and efficient.
