The article considers the issue of variability of phraseological units (PU) component structure including the functionally leading component get and representing, according to A. V. Kunin’s classification, two most widespread three-component structural patterns, i.e. (1) V + (d) + N + Prep + θ and (2) V + (d) + Adj + N. Despite its crucial role, this segment has not been the focus of a complex study creating a lacuna in English phraseology, therefore there is a need for structural analysis of its patterns. A number of both poliparadigmal and specific research methods, including the method of the componential and quantitative analysis and dictionary definitions, were applied in this study. As a result, both simple and complex phraseological variants in each of the two structural patterns were found. Phraseologisms of the first pattern were subjected to variability in 91% of occurrences, phraseologisms of the second pattern were subjected to variability in 81% of occurrences...

Abstract To examine the mechanism of illegitimate recombination in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we have developed a plasmid system for quantitative analysis of deletion formation. A can1 cyh2 cell carrying two negative selection markers, the CAN1 and CYH2 genes, on a YCp plasmid is sensitive to canavanine and cycloheximide, but the cell becomes resistant to both drugs when the plasmid has a deletion over the CAN1 and CYH2 genes. Structural analysis of the recombinant plasmids obtained from the resistant cells showed that the plasmids had deletions at various sites of the CAN1-CYH2 region and there were only short regions of homology (1-5 bp) at the recombination junctions. The results indicated that the deletion detected in this system were formed by illegitimate recombination. Study on the effect of several rad mutations showed that the recombination rate was reduced by 30-, 10-, 10-, and 10-fold in the rad52, rad50, mre11, and xrs2 mutants, respectively, while in the rud51, 54, 55, and 57 mutants, the rate was comparable to that in the wild-type strain. The rad52 mutation did not affect length of homology at junction sites of illegitimate recombination.

A quantitative analysis of the structure of Nicholas II's speeches was made in the period 1894-1906, in comparison with his speeches, presented in the journal Niva in 1916. The basis for the analysis is the total number of words in the sentences that make up the analyzed speech. A significant change in the total number of words in sentences pertaining to the dates considered has been revealed.

The Aim of the study is to determine the psycholinguistic meaning of the concept of Odesa in the linguistic consciousness of its inhabitants. Research Methods and Sample. The study used a free associative experiment. The subjects were to write five associations on the word "Odesa". A total of 117 respondents, aged 16-57, who live in Odesa, participated in the study. Results. By applying the frequency analysis of associates to the word-stimulus Odessa, the most widespread associations have been analyzed, which reveal the psycholinguistic meaning of the concept "Odessa". Ranks of the most frequent reactions on the whole set of associations and on the first reaction are determined. Semantic groups of associates are analyzed. A meaningful and quantitative analysis of the associates of the resulting semantic groups makes it possible to identify Odesa in the linguistic consciousness of its inhabitants as a maritime tourist city that has a glorious history, beautiful architecture and is a symbol of humor. The comparative analysis of the concept "Odesa" with the concepts "Moscow" and "Kiev" is carried out. Conclusions. From the results of the semantic interpretation of the concept of "Odesa" it follows that this city is associated with the sea, beautiful architectural and glorious history, which is equated with humor and fun. In the associative field of this concept, the largest group of associates was those describing its relationship with nature and the sea. A significant group of peripheral and single reactions consisted of tokens related to the associative field of architectural and historical topics. Unlike metropolitan cities, Odesa has no signs of a metropolis and infrastructure center in the linguistic picture of the world of its citizens.

Abstract Language attitude research is crucial for a deeper understanding of New Englishes. However, the most common attitude research methods often cause problems when applied to New Englishes contexts. We discuss the benefits and challenges of different methods used in two attitude studies on the perception of linguistic variation in Jamaica and Trinidad. Five major issues arise out of the discussion: the careful consideration of abstract labels, the need for contextualized research and authentic source material, the limited view of written data collection with closed questions, the crucial role of the researcher, and the opportunities of mixed-methods research. These conclusions are particularly relevant for research on New Englishes but also for language attitude research in general.

We investigate the features of variable names standardization of villages ending with -ova/-ovo, -eva/-evo, -ina/-ino. The relevance of the study is to improve the standardization of geographical names in order to ensure their unified and consistent use. The novelty of the study consists in the use of quantitative research methods towards the toponymy of different time sam-ples covering the last century and a half. As a source of variable and standardized names of villages, the State catalog of geographical names, normative legal acts, reference books of administrative divisions, lists of localities of the Russian Empire, and topographic maps are used. The toponymy of the territories of the modern Moscow, Bryansk, Vologda, Kaluga, Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions is subjected to quantitative analysis. We establish that in the second half of the 19th century the names of villages ending with -ova, -eva, -ina prevailed in a quantitative sense over the names of villages ending with -ovo, -evo, -ino. Over the next century and a half, the proportion of names ending with -ova, -eva, -ina in all the analyzed regions consistently decreased, while the proportion of names with -ovo, -evo, -ino grew. If currently in some regions the names of villages with -ova, -eva, -ina are practically absent, in others they may still prevail over names with -ovo, -evo, -ino. This fact should be considered when standardizing variable toponyms.

In the article, we discuss the usage of multi-methods qualitative approach in family research drawing on the monthly team ethnographic study of 21 non-heterosexual families in Poland. This study was employed as a part of a larger multi and mixed-method project Families of Choice in Poland, where we implemented a frame story approach ( FSA). By using the ethnographic study as an example, we aim to demonstrate how our approach enabled us to capture hidden elements of family practises and to understand challenges which non-heterosexual families face in contemporary Poland. Moreover, we show how our methodological decisions were in line with the local socio-political context where specific research methods may be more effective due to their less disclosing character. Finally, we provide a fieldwork illustration of our arguments which demonstrates how our methodological and analytical choices resulted in producing nuanced perspectives on issues of the hierarchy of motherhood and kin relations.

Anoman Cakil dance was created in 1986 at the request of the ASKI Dance Department. External factors are a major factor in the creation of Anoman Cakil dance which is supported by internal factors. This thesis, titled Anoman Cakil dance, composed by Didik Bambang Wahyudi, focuses on the study of dance work and the structural analysis of Anoman Cakil dance. Issues to be explained in this study are (1) How  to work on  Anoman  Cakil dance  by Didik Bambang  Wahyudi  (2) How  to present the structure of Anoman Cakil dance. This research uses qualitative research methods, data obtained through literature study, interviews and observations. The results of data processing are then presented descriptively. To answer this problem, this study uses the concept of cultivation as a knife for analysis, namely the  concept of cultivation  by Rahayu Supanggah. The structural analysis of Sumandiyo Hadi was used as a theory to examine the structural problem of Anoman Cakil's dance presentation. The elements of cultivation work in the form of material work on, work on, working on facilities, working on furniture and determinant work on. Application of cultivation in dance in the form of the background of the creation of dance, Didik Bambang wahyudi as cultivators and Anoman cakil dance as material and means of working on.Anoman Cakil dance including wireng pethilan dance with stories originating from the Ramayana Epic, presented by two dancers in pairs, with figures Anoman and Cakil. And, victory on the Cakil figure. Anoman Cakil dance consists of three parts in the form of Forward Beksan Structure, the Beksan section which consists of the  then  spread  hand  arm  and  keris  shell.  Beksan  retreat  is  the  last  part  of  the Anoman Cakil dance presentation structure. Dramatic flow of Anoman Cakil dance is classified as multiple conical dramatic grooves with a small climax before heading to the main climax. Keywords: Wireng, pethilan, Anoman, Work on, Structural.

Aim: All mobile phones will eventually become obsolete and should be collected and recycled in order to recover their high content of both dangerous and valuable materials. End-consumers play a key role in these processes as the collection and recycle systems cannot work properly without their contribution. Therefore, this exploratory study investigates how Dutch end-consumers can be stimulated to return their used mobile phones.Design / Research methods: the factors influencing consumers’ propensity to return and recycle obsolete mobile phones are examined. The results are based on a survey conducted among end-consumers of mobile phones in the Netherlands. Conclusions / findings: There is significant recycling potential as the majority of used mobile phones are simply kept at home. Keeping a used phone as a spare phone and being afraid of privacy disclosures are indicated as main reasons for not taking used phones to a recycling point.Originality / value of the article: The findings indicate that personal satisfaction from recycling and knowledge or awareness of the potential dangers from not properly returning play a crucial role in influencing the propensity.
