General chemistry is a subject that being studied in almost every science course. The subject is closely related to the environment, so it will be very easy to learn when involve examples in everyday life. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is an approach that links the learning materials with the real-world environment. This research was conducted by using a CTL approach in a general chemistry subject which is one of the compulsory subjects in Biology Education Program of Tarbiyah Faculty UIN Ar-Raniry. The aim of this study was to determine the increase of student learning activities after using the CTL approach to general chemistry lecturing activities. The design of this study used action classroom research. This study was conducted to the first semester students. The student amount was 31 students. The instrument used was an observation sheet of learning activity. The results was obtained that the activities of the student during the learning process in the first cycle reached 70% and increased to 90% in cycle II. This proves that the application of CTL approach can increase the learning student’s activity of Biology Education Studies in general chemistry courses.

the problems examined are: 1 learning activities of students. 2)  Teacher teaching Activity.  3) Improving learning results. The aims  of this research to.  1) Improve the students learning activity  , 2) increases teacher teaching activity.  3) Knowing the increase in the results of the study. This  study is An action classroom Research, which has been implemented in  2 cycle. The subject of this research  the students are registered on the even- in academic year of  2016/2017, numbered 20 students. The date of this research is the activity of teacing process of teacher and learning activities of the students which obtained from the observation sheet and the results of learning as measured through tests. Date analysis was conducted a descriptive statistic. The results showed if. 1) learning activities at each cycle tends to increase. This is demonstrated by average score on each cycle, in cycle I score average is 2.7 students activity increased in cycle II becomes 3.25. 2) on cycle I score an average teacher's teaching activity is increased 2.85 cycle II becomes 3.65. 3) results of study geography enhanced through generative learning model. On cycle I students who finished 13 (65%) and not completely and absolutely no 7 (35%)  with an average of 72.25 whereas  at the second cycle was increased to 17(85%) The students who did not complete 3 students (15%).

Konsep relasi dan fungsi merupakan pelajaran yang dianggap sulit diingat oleh siswa. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan suatu pembelajaran yang dapat membuat siswa aktif dan kreatif dalam mengkonstruksi ide-idenya melalui pendekatan untuk membentuk suatu pemahaman matematika. Dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) siswa diharapkan dapat dengan mudah memahami materi pelajaran yang dikaitkan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan belajar siswa menggunakan pendekatan CTL pada materi relasi dan fungsi di kelas VIII SMPN 1 Darussalam Aceh Besar. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen semu dengan model rancangan one-shot case study dan menggunakan uji statistik, yaitu uji-t. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 SMPN 1 Darussalam sebanyak 22 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data statistik uji-t diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan melalui pendekatan CTL pada materi relasi dan fungsi mencapai taraf berhasil, kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran sudah efektif dengan skor 4,22, aktivitas siswa untuk tiap-tiap kategori pengamatan aktif, serta respon siswa pada setiap komponen pembelajaran positif dengan skor rata-rata keseluruhan 3,25. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran CTL berhasil diterapkan pada materi pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi relasi dan fungsi Kata kunci: Pendekatan CTL, Relasi dan Fungsi, Hasil Belajar  Relation and Fungsion are one of Mathematics concept that hardly retain in students’ memory. Therefore, it is important to have a learning activity which can make students become active and creative in constructing their ideas by utilizing an approach that can builds up students’ understanding of Mathematics. By using CTL, it is expected that the students can easily understand the learning subject. This is because CTL approach offers a way to relate the subject material to real life situation. The objective of this study is to know how successful students’ learning concerning the subjects of Relation and Fungtion through the use of  CTL to the second grade students at SMPN 1 Darussalam Aceh Besar. The design of this study is quasi experimantal study in form of one-shot case study and is using statistical test, that is T-Test. The subjects of the study are students class VIII-1 SMPN 1 Darussalam Aceh Besar which consits of 22 students. Students’ result on the subject Relation and Fungsion had achieved successful rate due to the use of CTL. Hence, it can be concluded that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is successfully implemented in the subject of Relation and Fungsion. This research was conducted with the grade XI students of TITL, SMK Dinamika Pembangunan I Jakarta, on the subject of the Electrical Lighting Installation (IPL). The researcher precieved the poor results from the students who have not achieved the standard completion of studies (SKB) during and after they underwent and internalized learning activities in the process of their study. The objective of this research is to realize the difference between the results of study on Electrical Lighting Installation using Contextual Teaching and Learning method and the result of  the study using  the Convensional method in grade XI TITL, SMK Dinamika Pembangunan 1 Jakarta. The hippotetical test using t–test resulted in t-counted = 2.32 at the significance of α = 0.05 and the 45 level of tolerance which resulted in t-table = 2.00. Therefore, the value is within the area of acceptance of H1 and rejection of H0. This shows that the average result of study using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model is better compared to the result of study using the conventional model. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas XI TITL SMK Dinamika Pembangunan 1 Jakarta pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Penerangan Listrik (IPL). Peneliti melihat rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang belum mencapai Standar Ketuntasan Belajar (SKB) dalam menerima dan meresapi kegiatan belajar disaat proses pembelajaran berlangsung maupun sesudahnya. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar mata pelajaran Instalasi Penerangan Listrik siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model contextual teaching and learning dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model konvensional XI TITL di SMK Dinamika Pembangunan 1 Jakarta. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t diperoleh thitung = 2,32 pada taraf signifikansi α = 0.05 dan derajat kebebasan 45 diperoleh ttabel = 2,00, maka nilai thitung berada di daerah penerimaan H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa rata–rata hasil belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar yang menggunkan model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract. This journal discusses the development of variations in teaching in increasing learning motivation. The learning process is an activity that involves an individual (physical and spiritual), learning activities are never carried out without a strong motivation or motivation from within the individual or from outside the individual who participates in learning activities. Therefore, the learning process requires the development and use of variations in teaching to generate student motivation. Variations in teaching include variations in teaching styles, variations in media and materials, and variations in teaching and learning interactions. Motivation has a very important role in learning activities, there is no learning activity without motivation, therefore motivation has a strategic role in achieving the goals or results of learning. BackgroundCreating a conducive environment for learning cultivates engaged and independent learners, allowing for high-level learning (Warren, 2004). When assessing the diverse Psychology courses that exist, the evaluation of Research Methods (RM) teaching and its associated pedagogies is high on the agenda of college based Higher Education (Burton & Schonfield, 2011). ObjectiveThis study aimed at exploring what range of teaching and learning activities (TLA’s) promote effective learning of RM among Psychology students. Additionally, it aimed to understand, from a student perspective, what ‘effective learning’ meant in the context of RM. MethodA mixed methods approach comprising of both surveys as well as focus groups was conducted with undergraduate Psychology students. Thematic analysis and basic frequencies were used to analyse data. Results Results demonstrated that both student and teacher-led activities were beneficial and worked complementarily for students in their understanding of the subject whilst serving different purposes. Practical labs and class exercises were the top activities highlighted (student-led) followed by lectures and flow chart concept checks (teacher-led). Furthermore, ‘effective learning’ encapsulated not just a long-term knowledge acquisition of concepts but the ability to apply one’s knowledge to the wider context. Conclusion and teaching implication Findings are in line with the Conception of Learning which has a nested hierarchy consisting of both surface learning elements and deep learning (Marton,Dall’Alba & Beaty, 1993). RM has been identified as a difficult subject to teach as well for students to learn (Gray et al., 2015) and as a result this study teases apart some of the most beneficial techniques from a student perspective to be considered when designing the structure and delivery of RM courses.

<p>The focus of this research is to describe the strategy of adversity quotient for the management of the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) to develop innovations in turning barriers into opportunities for non-formal education programs. Qualitative research with this type of case study was carried out at PKBM Mentari, using structured interviews as the primary data collection method, in order to obtain primary data and document matrix methods to obtain secondary data. the data were analyzed using interactive techniques belonging to Miles and Huberman with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are the adversity quotient strategy that generally implemented by PKBM is very good, this can be seen from the indicators including: 1) Organizing learning activities flexibly in terms of time, so that it does not interfere with the daily activities of the community; 2) Provide learning at affordable costs so as not to burden the community in participating in learning; 3) Making the community the main partner in the continuation of teaching and learning activities at PKBM and 4) Building synergies with local village officials. The relatively short research time is the main limitation in compiling this study, so that it only maximizes the statements of the main informants. </p><p><strong> </strong></p>

This study is designed to present a web 2.0 application that provides multimedia and animated video known as GoAnimate.Com which has been used as a learning activity tool directly in Arabic teaching and learning (T&L) process. This activity was implemented in the class whereby the students were actively involved as practitioners and the teachers played the role as facilitators. The guidance to use GoAnimate.Com was explained to students by teachers before dividing them into groups. Each group were asked to prepare an animated video containing simple Arabic conversation using GoAnimate.Com application. Quantitative method was utilized  to make this study successful by using the instrument of questioners prepared to identify students’ perception towards GoAnimate.Com application and their preference of using this application in Arabic T&L at  University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). The result of this study has indicated  that student’s perception towards GoAnimate.Com application in learning Arabic is high with the overall mean score of 4.05. This study has shown  that the usage of GoAnimate.Com can increase students’ engagement and involvement in learning Arabic. Nevertheless, it is hoped that the outcome  of this study  can provide an alternative approach and various strategies in Arabic T&L towards Education 4.0 in the Forth Industrial Revolution era (IR4.0).

The covid-19 pandemic affect a number of sectors, including the education services. To support the education sustainability and participate in breaking the chain of covid-19 transmission, the learning activity in SMK Negeri 2 Depok was modified to comply the social distancing policy. Teaching and learning activities conducted at the respective student's location via online media. This study aims to describe the implementation of online learning activities to describe the implementation of online assessment, and to determine the effectiveness of online learning activities in SMK Negeri 2 Depok during the covid-19 pandemic. Google classroom applications was employed for classroom management including making announcements related with learning activities, giving subject matters, delivering and collecting student assignments. Based on overall online activities, so it can be concluded that the implementation of online learning in SMK Negeri 2 Depok was effective.  Keywords: effectiveness, google classroom

User-created virtual worlds are emerging technologies with rapidly growing acceptance in education. Of the various reported educational uses of these virtual worlds, the focus of this chapter is on virtual worlds for constructivist learning activities, because this use has application to many real-life courses and has the potential to transform teaching and learning. To assist educators with recognizing and understanding virtual world learning activities, Antonacci & Modaress (2005, 2008) developed the Interaction-Combinations Integration model. However, this model has not been studied in actual virtual-world learning practice. Using a case study method, this chapter examines the usefulness of this model to organize and describe actual virtual world learning activities, provides additional learning activity examples, and describes what was needed to implement and conduct these learning activities.

The ability of teachers to manage student interactions in learning activities relates to communication between students and other students, students with teachers and vice versa. The purpose of this study was to measure the improvement in the ability of Surabaya Elementary School 5 teachers to communicate with students after clinical supervision. This classroom action research was carried out by taking place at SD Negeri 5 Surabaya. The school's action research was conducted in the first semester of the 2016/2017 school year. The subject of this study was the teacher of SD Negeri 5 Surabaya, amounting to six teachers. The results of this study are the teacher's ability to communicate with students from cycle to cycle has increased, namely from prasiklus 33.86%, the first cycle of 66.08%, and the second cycle of 88.30%, so that the increase during the action is 54, 44%. Increases occur in all aspects. The increase in teachers' abilities was due to clinical supervision activities based on objective assessments that were delivered transparently to teachers, besides the implementation of supervision with a small number of teachers tended to facilitate communication between researchers, principals and teachers. The existence of such supervision increases the teacher's awareness of the importance of the ability to communicate with students, and raises the awareness of teachers that this ability is one aspect of teacher performance assessment.
