This study aims to measure the improvement of the teacher’s social competence in teaching junior high school in "X" before being given training (pretest) and two weeks after training (posttest). The hypothesis in this study is authoritative teacher training can improve the teacher‘s social competence in teaching junior high school "X". Teachers are given the Authoritative Teacher Training will increase the teacher’s social competence in teaching. This study is a quasi-experimental design using one group pretest, posttest and follow-up. This study used the scale of the teacher’s social competence in teaching, observation scale, and opened scale. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The authors found many students with low social interaction at school and lack of methods in anticipating this problem. This article contributes to providing alternative methods for enhancing students' social interaction by using role-playing techniques in group counseling. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the role-playing technique in improving the social interaction of 8th-grade students at Public Junior High School 7 Bandar Lampung. The authors use social interaction scales to collect data and quasi-experimental research design methods. The subjects of the study were 16 students of 8th-grade Public Junior High School 7 Bandar Lampung which selected by purposive sampling. Data analysed using Wilcoxon Test. The results of the study concluded that z=-2.524 and p<0.05. This means that group counseling services with role-playing techniques are effective to improve social interaction for 8th-grade students at Public Junior High School 7 Bandar Lampung.

Abstrak. Dismenorea atau nyeri menstruasi di hari pertama sering dialami oleh wanita. Nyeri disminorea juga dapat berlangsung sebelum sampai beberapa hari selama menstruasi. Dismenorea yang dirasakan oleh remaja sangat berdampak jika tidak ditangani, hal ini dapat mengganggu aktivitas sehari-hari. Penanganan dismenorea pada remaja diperlukan untuk mencegah dampak negatif yang dapat timbul secara berkepanjangan. Penatalaksanaan nyeri disminorea secara nonfarmakologi salah satunya adalah pemberian Abdominal Stretching Exercise. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas pemberian Abdominal Stretching Exercise pada remaja dengan nyeri disminorea di SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta.Jenis Penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif menggunakan desain Quasi Eksperimental dengan pre-post test without control. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 30 siswi SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. Uji normalitas data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Shapiro Wilk dengan hasil distribusi data tidak normal sehingga analisa data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Abdominal stretching exercise efektif menurunkan nyeri disminore pada siswi di SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. Dysmenorrhoea or menstrual pain is often experienced by women. It’s pain arising from menstruation before or during menstruation, its occurring on the first day to several days during menstruation. Dysmenorrhoea felt by adolescents is very impactful if not treated because it causes disruption of daily activities. Dysmenorrhoea in adolescents must be treated with appropriate measures to avoid from negative impacts that will arise prolonged. One of the non-pharmacological management of dysmenorrhoea pain is Abdominal Stretching Exercise. The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Abdominal Stretching Exercise in adolescents with dysmenorrhea pain at Nur Hidayah Surakarta Junior High School. This was a quantitative study using a Quasi Experimental design with pre-post test without control. The research involved 30 respondents of students of Nur Hidayah Surakarta Junior High School. Normality test were analyzed using Shapiro Wilk with result abnormal data distribution than data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test. The results of analysis abdominal stretching exercise was effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain in female students at Nur Hidayah Surakarta Junior High School. Statistical test carried out before and after Abdominal Stretching Exercise on female students with disminorea pain. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test found a sig score of 0.00 results, and showed a p value of <0.05 so that it was concluded that Abdominal Stretching Exercise had an influence on dysmenorrhea pain in Nur Hidayah Surakarta Junior High School Keyword: Abdominal Stretching Exercise, dysmenorrheal pain, teenager

Educational supervision is an effort to guide school principals to teachers, and guidance counseling teachers in schools in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools. The purpose of this study is to find out 1) The process of preparing the principal's supervision program in increasing the professional competence of the counseling guidance teacher, 2) The implementation of the educational supervision program by the principal in improving the professional competence of the counseling guidance teacher, and 3) The principal's follow-up in implementing the supervision of education for improve the professional competence of counseling guidance teachers. This research uses descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. Research subjects were the principal, vice principal and counseling guidance teacher. The results of his research show that: 1) The supervision program of the headmaster of Palopo 8 Junior High School was prepared at the beginning of each semester of the school year by involving the deputy headmaster, counseling guidance teacher, and teacher in the field of study. The supervision program includes the activities of professional teacher guidance and guidance as well as training for teachers that are tailored to their fields. 2) The supervision of the head of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo follows the program that has been prepared, the technique used is through teacher meetings, classroom observations and personal conversations. Especially for classroom observation techniques, they have already used observation guidelines, but the quantity in the implementation has not been maximized. 3) The follow-up supervision of the headmaster of Palopo 8 Junior High School was observed through individual talks, giving advice, coaching, and guiding counseling guidance teachers with a focus on better implementation of activities, but the principal did not fully understand the counseling guidance program

The aims of this research are to find out whether the implementation of NoteTaking Pairs technique effective in teaching reading comprehension at junior high school. The method used in the research is quantitative method and the design is quasi experimental design. The sampling technique used in this research was random sampling. Two classes were taken as the subject namely experimental and control class. The data of test got from both experimental and control class was analyzed by T test formula. The result of calculation showed that t was 6.58, and t  with df  75 in account table the significant degree of 5% is 1.992. It means that t  is higher than t (6.58 > account table 1.992). The average of post-test in the experimental class was 81, while the KKM of English subject is 75. It can be concluded that Note-Taking Pairs Technique is effective in teaching reading comprehension at junior high school.

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes on active learning pattern. However, based on the questionnaire spread in junior high school 18 Padang, it was gotten the result that teachers still have difficulty in implementing it, especially in affective competence of confidence. The affective competence of confidence will encourage students to be active in learning process, both in asking questions and expressing opinion. In cooperative learning, students are provided a vehicle to increase their confidence through presenting their discussion result in front of the class. By considering this issue, there is an alternative solution that can be used by teacher, which is example non example method. This method is one of cooperative learning method. Besides that, it can support the implementation of scientific approach and discovery learning model in learning process. The scientific approach and discovery learning model are the approach and model recommended in the 2013 Curriculum. Purpose of the research was to know effect of example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model on students' affective competence. It was a quasi-experimental research. It was done in junior high school 18 Padang to grade VII students. The instrument used was written test in form of multiple-choice and essay. Technique of data analysis used Mann Whitney U test. It was done by using SPSS software. The finding shows that example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model has significant effect on students' affective competence, with sig. value (0.036) &lt; 0.05.

The misconception of the Solar System topic is still found in students so that it becomes one of the obstacles in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) learning to change the junior high school students' conception in the Solar System topic. Quasi-experimental research with the non-equivalent control group design was conducted in one of the private junior high schools in Bandung city. Samples were selected based on the test of the average significance of the pretest score of the population. Furthermore, 30 students of the experimental class and 32 students of control class were selected. The research instrument, which consisted of 15 four-tier diagnostic test questions about Solar System were used to collect data before and after treatment. The tests were analyzed quantitatively by using the Mann-Whitney statistical test to determine the significance of the difference in the acceptable conception changes (Acceptable Change) of students in the experimental class with changes in the conception of students in the control class. The results of the research show that the implementation of POEA learning is significantly more effective than POE learning in changing the conception of Solar System topic. The findings of this study can be an alternative for junior high school teachers in planning learning about the Solar System, especially in an effort to change students' misconception about the Solar System.

Background: Adolescent is a trantition phase from childhood to adulthood. Knowledge about puberty is important during this phase. If there is no sufficient information about it, it could cause several problems such as adolescence growth and development failure and healt problems. Health promotion to increase awareness of puberty is definitely needed by junior high students aged around 8 to 14 years old. Puberty health promotion could be delivered through visual media such as leaflet or audiovisual media such as animation film. The aim of this study was to discover effectivity of leaflet and animation film in increasing puberty awareness in students of Public Junior High School 226, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. Method: This study was a quasi experiment with one group pre test-posttest design. Population of this study was whole students of 7th grade Public Junior High School 226. Sampling technique used was total sampling as many as 256 students. Data was analyzed by Wilcoxon test to find out effectivity of leaflet and animation film, meanwhile Mann Whitney test was used to discover effectivity between leaflet and animation film. Results: Both leaflet and animation film were effective to improving knowledge for adolescent (p-value<0,001). Conclusion: Either leaflet or animation film increased puberty awareness of students. There was no effectivity difference between both media in increasing puberty awareness of students at Public Junior High School 226.

So far the students of Le Hong Phong Junior High School, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan province have been taught listening comprehension with textbook-based language materials which are too obsolete. Therefore, the students are often fed up with listening lessons; thus, their listening skill fails to improve after studying listening with textbooks for many years. Stimulated by this reality, the current study was carried out to investigate the effects of the adaptation of language materials in teaching listening on students' achievement of listening skill development. To obtain the above target, a conceptual framework of teaching listening with adapted language materials was developed. This framework was based on the theories of teaching listening and the implementation of language materials adaptation in listening skill instruction. Following the shaped conceptual framework, a training program with six listening lessons within the prescribed curriculum of ``Tiếng Anh 8'' by the MoET was conducted. The treatment lasted nearly four months from the middle of August 2018 to the end of November 2018 at Le Hong Phong Junior High School, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan province. The results of the current study have shown that after the treatment of listening instruction with adapted language materials, students' achievement was proved to be significant in improving their listening skill. Also, teaching listening with adapted language materials got positive attitudes from the students. That is to say, adapted language materials were effective in improving students' listening skill development. Also, all the adapted listening texts and follow-up tasks highly met students' satisfaction. Accordingly, two major conclusions could be withdrawn from the findings that language materials adaptation was effective in (1) improving the students' listening skill, and (2) enhancing their interest in the listening lessons.
