The paper explores the role of brand equity when pricing hypothetical brand extensions. Companies tend to use different pricing techniques for their products, and their pricing decisions are based on many factors, including image and category fit of the product with the existing image and products of the company. Brand extensions are usually investigated from a consumer perspective, focusing on the extension attitude, however, it is essential to understand the corporate decision-making process regarding pricing. Exploring this matter using quantitative research methods, the study provides empirical evidence that companies that have invested heavily in marketing actions in the past and have built strong brand equity over-time, show flexibility in the mark-up during the cost decision-making process of a hypothetical brand extensions. Variations in mark-up percentages are also observed when there is a difference in image and category fit of the extension to the original brand. However, companies characterized by greater brand equity exhibited greater flexibility in the mark-up percentages, even for low fit extensions.

Decision-making is one of the tools that the school management uses to run schools. Teachers play an important role in the performance of schools. This paper looked at the effects of teacher participation in decision-making processes on performance. The study was conducted in public secondary schools in Mombasa County, Kenya. The study used the mixed methods approach where qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. The study targeted 474 teachers in 24 public schools in the County. These 10 schools were selected through purposive sampling and 110 teachers were selected through the simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained through questionnaires. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse data using mean, frequencies, standard deviation and percentages and the findings were presented using tables. The study found that teachers were partially involved in the decision-making process in the school since they participated mostly in one area more than the others. The findings from the study draw the conclusion that teachers in Mombasa County do not participate fully in the decision-making process in their schools. The study recommends that teachers be more empowered and engaged in decision-making processes in all aspects of the school system.

The decision making process of becoming a missionary is not an easy task to do because it needs a lot of consideration. Every decision making processes usually need to go through several stages, it also applies in the decision making process to become a missionary. When someone live as a missionary, they might face a lot of challenges and difficulties that could even make them quit mission forever. The challenges for most missionaries include financial difficulties, desperation and feel unable to do things, or even tiredness. This research aimed to  give more information regarding the decision making process of becoming a missionary that includes all of the stages that each of them go through in their decision making process and also the factors that influence their decision making. This type of research is non experimental with quantitative research methods. Data retrieval in this study using interview techniques in depth interview. There are seven stages of participant decision making before deciding to become a missionary. The participants of this research are five Indonesian missionary who serve at several cities in Indonesia and also in another country. It is known that the study participants were most accurately informed about missionaries because they were active in serving in the church and participated in activities such as short theological schools, etc. From the result of this research, we could see that the decision making process of becoming a Christian missionary also follows the decision making steps. Proses pengambilan keputusan untuk menjadi misionaris bukan hal yang mudah untuk dilakukan karena memerlukan banyak pertimbangan. Setiap proses pengambilan keputusan biasanya melalui beberapa tahapan, begitu pula dengan proses pengambilan keputusan untuk menjadi seorang misionaris. Ketika seseorang menjalani kehidupan sebagai misionaris maka mereka akan menghadapi banyak tantangan dan kesulitan yang bahkan bisa menyebabkan mereka keluar dari misi misalnya tekanan dalam hal finansial, memiliki perasaan tidak mampu, atau merasa kelelahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran proses pengambilan keputusan yang terjadi pada orang yang menjadi misionaris meliputi seluruh tahapan yang dilalui serta faktor apa yang paling memengaruhi pengambilan keputusan tersebut sehingga dapat membantu pembaca, khususnya calon misionaris Kristen, ketika mau melakukan pengambilan keputusan yang penting. Jenis penelitian ini adalah non eksperimental dengan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara in depth interview. Terdapat tujuh tahapan pengambilan keputusan partisipan sebelum memutuskan diri menjadi seorang misionaris. Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri dari lima orang misionaris Kristen asal Indonesia yang melayani di berbagai kota di Indonesia dan juga di luar negeri. Diketahui bahwa partisipan penelitian paling banyak mendapat informasi akurat terkait misionaris karena aktif dalam melayani di gereja dan mengikuti berbagai kegiatan seperti sekolah teologi singkat, dan lain-lain.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pengambilan keputusan untuk menjadi misionaris dilakukan sesuai dengan tahapan pengambilan keputusan.

The brand equity of banks plays a crucial role in determining customer behavior of using their services. The study aims to examine the impact of brand equity on conversion behavior in the use of personal banking services at commercial banks in Vietnam. The paper uses quantitative research methods, through linear SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) analysis, with survey data including 554 samples of individual customers of commercial banks. The study’s findings show that the bank’s brand equity has a negative impact on the behavior of individual customers. In the relationship between these two factors, competitive advertising effectiveness and loyalty of customers act as intermediary factors. On that basis, the study makes a number of recommendations to preclude customers leaving and minimize business losses caused by the conversion of customers’ banks. The findings of this study have shown the importance and impact of brand equity on conversion behavior in the use of personal customer services. These are meaningful contributions both theoretically and practically to help banks get a deeper insight into brand equity and the need to pay attention to building and developing sustainable brand equity for the bank, as well as an important basis for further research.

This study analyzed the evidence available in the literature concerning the effectiveness of different active cutaneous warming systems to prevent intraoperative hypothermia. This is a systematic review with primary studies found in the following databases: CINAHL, EMBASE, Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials and Medline. The sample comprised 23 randomized controlled trials. There is evidence in the literature indicating that the circulating water garment system is the most effective in maintaining patient body temperature. These results can support nurses in the decision-making process concerning the implementation of effective measures to maintain normothermia, though the decision of health services concerning which system to choose should also take into account its cost-benefit status given the cost related to the acquisition of such systems.

This article describes investment activities of self-government territorial units. Its aim is to present the importance of investments for the provision of public services by municipalities. The opinions of the respondents about the causes of excessive or misguided investments and the ways of reducing their scale were presented. Surveys were conducted in 2015 and the temporal scope of the analysis is 2009–2014. The importance of investments for the provision of public services, shaping the living conditions of inhabitants, and conducting business activity were described. Based on that, overinvestment was identified as a negative trend in public resources management. The most frequent causes of excessive investment are megalomania of the municipality authorities and their desire to gain the support of the inhabitants (voters). Another important aspect is the lack of sufficient social control in the decision-making process regarding investment tasks execution. It was also demonstrated that overinvestment is due to the purpose of spending financial resources, not to the relative amount of investment expenses. Among the actions preventing excessive or misguided investments, the cost and benefit analysis was indicated the most often. Using strategic planning tools is also beneficial for the effectiveness of investing in self-government.

Students between ages 13 to 18 years old are exposed to have career development assignments of life focused on the education field such as choosing majors or career fields. Students see career decision making is always accompanied by feelings of doubt, uncertainty, and even stress. In the end, students make their choice on careers by just following the decisions of their peers, which is not necessarily the right decision for them. Their decision taken can lead to career success. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of the conformity of students' decision making for their careers. The quantitative research methods are used where the samples are 136 students of class XII. Data are obtained from the Likert scale instrument and analyzed using regression analysis. The result shows there is influence between conformity and students’ decision making for their career. The findings of the research are the categorization score of conformity is in high category with 60.29%, while the variable of career decision making is in the low category with 54.41%. Thus, the coefficient value is -0.573 (p<0.01) with an effective contribution of 32.9% and the remaining is 67.1% is determined by other variables, which are not considered in this research. This shows that the higher of conformity, so the lower of career decision making in the class XII students. Hence, this study is essential to provide a view on the importance of career decision making abilities that will affect the students' future.

An issue of university development is the increasing stratification that significantly affects a higher education institution's enrollment and benefit. The higher education institution has realized that the brand increases recognized as an essential determinant of learner choice. The study identifies the components of perceived quality in higher education and examines the model of perceived quality and reputation effect on brand equity. With qualitative and quantitative research methods, the results confirm the four-factor structure of perceived quality and reputation influence brand equity in the higher education sector. The study asserts that perceived quality is considered a reflective construct, including library services, dining service, physical facilities, and academic staff responsiveness. Some managerial implications are proposed based on the research result.

The aim of this study is to analyze the relation between preschool teachers&rsquo; decision making styles and attachment styles in the context of classroom management. Correlational Survey Method, which is one of the quantitative research methods, has been used in the study. The universe of the study comprises preschool teachers working in state and private schools in the European part of İstanbul. The sample of the study, which is 380 preschool teachers, has been selected through random selection. The data of the study have been collected through Teacher Information Form, Melbourne Decision Making Questionnaire I-II and Relationship Scale. Considering the relation between decision making styles and attachment styles as a result of the study, no significant relation has been found between vigilance decision making and attachment styles. There is weak and very weak relation between buck-passing, procrastination and hypervigilance decision making styles and fearful, preoccupied and dismissing attachment styles. A significant relation has been observed between decision making styles and income level and fathers&rsquo; educational level. A significant relation has been noted between attachment styles and income level. There is no significant relation between other variables (sex, age, level of education) and the two styles.

IoT and the Cloud are among the most disruptive changes in the way we use data today. These changes have not significantly influenced practices in condition monitoring for shipping. This is partly due to the cost of continuous data transmission. Several vessels are already equipped with a network of sensors. However, continuous monitoring is often not utilised and onshore visibility is obscured. Edge computing is a promising solution but there is a challenge sustaining the required accuracy for predictive maintenance. We investigate the use of IoT systems and Edge computing, evaluating the impact of the proposed solution on the decision making process. Data from a sensor and the NASA-IMS open repository were used to show the effectiveness of the proposed system and to evaluate it in a realistic maritime application. The results demonstrate our real-time dynamic intelligent reduction of transmitted data volume by without sacrificing specificity or sensitivity in decision making. The output of the Decision Support System fully corresponds to the monitored system's actual operating condition and the output when the raw data are used instead. The results demonstrate that the proposed more efficient approach is just as effective for the decision making process.

Abstract This study aimed to determine the correlation of career decision-making self-efficacy and career decision making. The hypothesis of this study that there is a correlation between self-efficacy and career decision making. Subjects in this study are 405 high school students in Jakarta. This study used quantitative research methods and data collection using CDSE-SF (Career Decision Self Efficacy- Short Form) and CDS (Career Decision Scale) which has been translated into Indonesian. The result of the reliability test for CDSE-SF scale was 0.840 and 0.866 for CDS scale. The result validity test of CDSE-SF from 0.310 to 0.551; while CDS of 0.334 to 0.641. The process of data analysis using SPSS 17 applications, Pearson product moment correlation. These results contrast with the hypothesis, there was no correlation between career decision making self-efficacy and career decision making (r = 0.094, p> 0.05). It can be concluded that the proposed hypothesis is rejected. This study has contributed in the field of educational psychology research additions adolescent career.Keywords: career decision-making self-efficacy, career decision making
