A company for the development of software for industrial applications "PBS" Belgrade has designed a modern information system for monitoring and controlling production in the paper industry, which is completely integrated with the technological equipment and production processes. The paper presents the complete concept of the system, from electronic communication with business partners over computer support to all the production processes in the factory, to the delivery of the products to the customers. Realized as a CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system, it enables management to have a complete overview of the condition of all the production and business activities, and ensures momentary and complete reliable information about all the parameters of the business system. Although the system was developed for the needs of the cardboard factory "Umka", with particular modifications, it could also be used in other factories of the paper and cardboard packaging industry.

Given the complexity and unpredictability of changes in the global environment, the choice and implementation of strategies for the development of business systems in international markets requires careful analysis and refinement. The paper clarified the concept of business system and developed a methodical approach to the analysis of business systems functioning conditions. The multiplicity of approaches to classification strategies requires the submission of a typology of strategies for the development of business systems. The theoretical justification for the study of the processes of organizational development of business systems is based on the provisions of the institutional approach, organizational development and strategic management. The result of the research is the procedure for choosing a company strategy in a global environment and organizational development strategy. To confirm the selected provisions, the results of the analysis of strategies for the organizational development of enterprises of the bearing industry are presented.

While the use of social media offers great opportunities to interact with customers and business partners, there are significant risks associated with this technology if a clear strategy has not been defined to address both the risks and the benefits that come along with it. The best approach for an organization to effectively utilize the benefits of this technology is to engage all relevant stakeholders and establish a strategy that addresses the pertinent issues. The organization needs to have in place relevant policies so as to be able to achieve it. To be able to identify the most frequent risks and their source, we captured breach data from various sources. In the chapter, we analyzed that the most important source of risk that can occur due to use of social media for a company is from its own workforce and an employee might find various ways of doing so.

AbstractThe article presents research results in a scope of evaluation importance of safety in the workplace in the production processes of enterprise from metal products industry. Toyota’s management principles by Jeffrey Liker were pointed out, which refers to elements of Toyota’s house roof. An innovative BOST questionnaire survey was characterized as a tool for transformation of Toyota’s management principles into questions. Research group which participated in BOST study from the metal product industry was characterized. Research results were subjected to statistical analysis with a use of basic statistical parameters. Research results showed that safety in the workplace is important factor in the company.

ABSTRACT Quality is an image of a company. PT Berkat Manunggal Jaya is a company that its primary activity is to assemble the generator units. This company wants to improve its quality in its production processes. The Initial stage is to determine the amount of quality cost since it hasn’t been measured yet, especially in the production processes. This is because there are several cost categories that are within the company but the company still has not been able to measure them, which include the cost of diesel fuel for repeated inspection and the amount of diesel fuel that was carried when generators are delivered to the customers. The measuring method of this quality cost is using the Cost of Quality (COQ) model which details of the cost categories are based on Activity Based Costing (ABC) method. This method is suitable because it uses direct costs’ account, for instance, the use of materials as well as indirect costs as corporate overhead costs. The detail work instructions for the inspection of the production process between departments are provided based on existing procedures in the company. This is done to reduce the unacceptable product-in-progress when the production process is in operation. After calculating and put in all the activities into the four categories of Cost of Quality, the total Cost of Quality compared with the prices of sold unit from every generator set type are 1.77% for 680 KVA type open, 1.74% for 1300 KVA first type silent, 1.74% for 1300 KVA second type silent, 2.86% for 680 KVA type silent, 1.28% for 1300 KVA first type open, 1.27% for 1300 KVA second type open, 1.13% for 1740 KVA first type open, 1.13% for 1740 KVA second type open. The recommended solution for the reduction of Cost of Quality is to modify the procedure inspection flow in the company to reduce failure cost, especially in the final inspection costs (repeated test load processes).

Background and Sources: Lipase enzyme is a naturally occurring enzyme found in the stomach and pancreatic juice. Its function is to digest fats and lipids, helping to maintain correct gallbladder function. Lipase is the one such widely used and versatile enzyme. These enzymes are obtained from animals, plants and as well as from several microorganisms and are sufficiently stable. These are considered as nature’s catalysts, but commercially, only microbial lipases are being used significantly. </P><P> Applications: They found enormous application in the industries of fat and oil processing, oleochemical industry, food industry, detergents, pulp and paper industry, detergents, environment management, tea processing, biosensors and cosmetics and perfumery. Various recent patents related to lipases have been revised in this review. </P><P> Conclusion: Lipases are very peculiar as they have the ability to hydrolyse fats into fatty acids and glycerols at the water-lipid interface and can reverse the reaction in non-aqueous media. This natural ability makes it the most widely used enzyme in various industrial applications. This article deals with the immense versatility of lipase enzymes along with the recent advancements done in the various fields related to their purification and mass production in industries.

Constant changes in the market and increased competition make it necessary to dynamically adapt the way of running a business. The pressure of constant changes implies the emergence of requirements for information technology, which is the basic tool for information processing in organizations. The necessity of immediate reaction to business changes, reduction of time of business processes realization, immediate retrieval of information and its sharing, became the foundation of the idea of a company processing real-time information (Real Time Enterprise, RTE). RTE provides real-time information to employees, customers, suppliers, and other business partners, ensuring timeliness and consistency across all IT systems. The possibilities of RTE implementation thus become an important element of the IT operation and the entire enterprise. It seems to be advisable to find determinants of designing a proper IT system supporting the operation of an enterprise that processes information in real time (RTE).

AbstractWood processing residue, as an essential forest resource, is underestimated in the industrial applications. With the development of pulping technology, fiber quality and cost control have become the important prospects. It is very crucial to investigate the influencing factors of pulping, designed to reveal the relationship between fiber separation and physical performances. In this study, a range of effect factors of large-scale pulping process, including wood species, pretreatment, mechanical conditions, and post-bleaching treatment, were comprehensively investigated. The results illustrated that the industrial pulping process affected the dimensions of the fibers, their surface morphology, chemical structure, and thermal stability. The separated positions of the fibers were determined collectively by the mechanical temperature, time, and wood species. In addition, mild bleaching could effectively increase the crystallinity index, accessibility of the hydroxyl groups, and water retention values. However, it exerted a negative influence on the thermal stability. Further, chemical-assisted-refinement can replace higher temperature and prolonged ones to obtain pulp fibers with high quality while consuming less energy. Improved knowledge of how the industrial affects the fiber separation of a wood matrix and pulp quality is required as a basis for the development of the pulp and paper industry.
