The objectives of this study were to analyze the performance of agricultural extension agents (PPL), factors related to PPL performance, the relationship between PPL performance and productivity of the rice and the relationship between the productivity and paddy rice income in Kalirejo.  This study uses a survey method on rice farming in Kalirejo, Central Lampung. The data was collected in October 2017 by interviewing 53 respondents consist of 8 PPLs and 45 rice farmer who were drawn by purposive sampling method.  The data was analyzed by qualitative-descriptive analysis, tabulation and Rank Spearman correlation. The study showed that the performance of PPL in BPP Kalirejo was considered high. The competence, work environment, motivation and leadership PPL are related to the performance of PPL. The performance of PPL was related to the productivity of rice.  However the productivity was not related to the income of rice farming.  Although, the productivity of the rice was increasing, income of the rice farmer was considered low due to low price of rice. Key words: income, performance, productivity

ANALYSIS OF FARMERS' PERCEPTIONS TOWARD THE ROLE OF COUNSELING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PIG FARMING ON AGRIBUSINESS IN GIWAN VILLAGE, TIOM DISTRICT, LANNY JAYA REGENCY. The objective of this study was to determine farmer’s perceptons toward the role of agricultural extension agents in the development of pig livestock agribusiness for breeder’s in Giwan Village, Tiom District, Lanny Jaya Regency. This study used a survey method. Sample of group breeder wasdetermined by purposive sampling and sample of breeders was selected by simple random sampling method. The results of the study showed that: (1) Most pig farmers in Giwan village had good or high perceptions of extension workers in their roles as educators (80%), still have moderate as consultants (75%), as motivators (75%), and as organizers (80%) of farmers in providing counseling in Giwan village. The conclusion of this research was farmers in Giwan village have good perceptions of extension workers in their roles as educators, motivators, and as organizers of farmers in managing pigs' business.Keywords:  Agribusiness, Pig Farm, Extension, Giwan.

This study aims to describe the application of agricultural technology on the rice farming in Muara Batu Subdistrict, North Aceh Regency. The method used in this research is survey method by interviewing 30 rice farmers as respondents. Data were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the type of technology that has been applied, among others: Patterns Planting row legowo, use of superior seeds, making compost, making of vegetable pesticides, utilization of rice thresher machine, and the use of tractors in rice field hijacking. Agricultural technology provides many benefits such as cost-effective, time and labor. The application procedure can be done easily by farmers because it has been accustomed every season planting.

This study aims to examine the role of extension workers for breeders in buffalo farming in Moa District, Southwest Maluku Regency. The method used in this research is survey method, the sample is determined by purposive sampling., The form of qualitative descriptive analysis with the first stage is checking the data, in this activity it is carried out after conducting an interview (filling out a list of questions). Based on the results of the research, the performance of agricultural extension services at the Moa Subdistrict BPP in developing buffalo farming in the research village is running well but not yet optimal. This is because the quantity of extension workers is still small and the quality of the timeliness of extension workers in completing the work is not good because the amount of work to be done is not balanced with the quantity of extension workers. In addition, there is still a lack of infrastructure for extension workers such as the posluhdes (Village Extension Officer).

The purpose of this research is to assess implementation of Upsus Pajale Program, participation of farmer group members, and analyse factors related to the participation of farmers group members in the Upsus Pajale Program. This is a survey which is purposively undertaken in West Metro Sub district, involving 52 farmer households. The study was carried out from September to October 2017. Data are analyzed using qualitative-descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results show that factors related to participation of farmer group members were farmers frequency in attending agricultural extension meeting and level of motivation. However, farmer’s age, formal education level, and land ownership have no relation with participation. Overall, participation of farmer group members in Upsus Pajale Program in West Metro Sub district is quite active.Key words: participation of famer group members, Upsus Pajale

The study aims to know the level of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) usage, the level of Extension Workers’ performance, the relation between the use of ICT and the performance of Extension Workers, and factors related to the use of ICT in Agricultural Extension Centers, Fisheries and Forestry (BP3K) Jati Agung, South Lampung District. This study was conducted at BP3K Jati Agung Regency, South Lampung District in 2017  with 17 respondents of Extension Workers. The research method used is a survey method. Methods of analysis used were descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation. The results showed that Extension Workers have a high rate of ICT utilization and a high performance level.  The use of ICT has a significant relationship with the performance of Extension Workers and factors related to the use of ICT are age, education, income, and cosmopolitan characteristics. Key words: extension workers, ICT, performance

ABSTRACTRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AGRICULTURAL EXTENTION TASK EFFORTS AND BEEF CATTLE HOUSEHOLD FARMER SUCCCESS AT KWANDANG DISTRICT OF NORTH GORONTALO REGENCY. On basis of the ratio between total of villages and total of agricultural extension officers (AEO), meaning each AEO worked one village, the system of the AEO should run smoothly.  Based on the initial survey, it showed that task effort of the AEO at several villages of Kwandang district, indicated minimum task effort by the AEO. Low task effort affected productivity success of beef cattle household farmers indicating it should be improved. The objective of this study was to evaluate the task effort of the AEO, the success of beef cattle household farmers, and to analyze the relationship between the AEO and beef cattle household success at Kwandang district of North Gorontalo regency. The purposive sampling method was applied in this study involving four villages of Ombulodata, Alata Karya, and Posso. The household respondents were choosed based on stratified random sampling of the total population of all household farmers at each village using Slovin formula, completed by the AEO working at the sample villages. Variable measurements were applied using Liker scale.The relationship between the AEO and beef cattle household success was tested using Spearman correlation coefficient test. Results showed that task effort of the AEO was included into good category with the percentage of 96.67 percents. The household success was also included into good category with the percentages of 57.58 percents. In addition, there was strong relationship between task effort and beef cattle household success with the correlation value of 0.6942 indicated by z-calculated of 3.9269 > z-table of 1.960. Therefore, it can be concluded that the task effort  of the AEO and beef cattle household farmer success were categorized into good condition indicated by strong relationship between those two variables at Kwandang district of North Gorontalo regency.Keywords : AEO Performance, Succes of Beef Cattle Ranchers

The Development of Subak of Cuculan Capacity as a Learning Facility for Farmers in the Pemogan Village, the Sub-District of South Denpasar, Denpasar City Capacity development is the process of building the capacity of individuals, groups, or organizations. Subak is a farmer organization in Bali. The study aimed to describe the capacity of Subak Cuculan as a learning facility for farmers, to describe the function of learning facility of farmers in Subak Cuculan, to analyze the relationship between Subak Cuculan capacity and the function of learning facility of farmers in the Subak Cuculan, and to analyze the development of Subak Cuculan capacity as an effective farmer learning facility. The research location was determined in Pemogan Village purposively by the population of 50 people and the sample was 44 people based on the slovin formula and the data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and rank spearman statistical test. Subak Cuculan capacity is classified as moderate category.The function of the farmers' learning facility in Subak Cuculan is classified in the high category. Capacity of Subak Cuculan and the learning facility function in Subak Cuculan have significant relation of 59%. Subak Cuculan capacity building efforts can be analyzed in physical and non-physical form by identifying problems, problem formulation, and finding solutions for problem solving. Subak Cuculan members are expected to be more passionate in carrying out their farming and more active in utilizing the learning facility in Subak Cuculan. It is also expected that good cooperation from all related parties, namely Subak Cuculan farmers, the agricultural extension agents in South Denpasar, and the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture of Denpasar City in the development of capacity of Subak Cuculan as a learning facility for the farmers.

This study aims to determine the condition of the agricultural extension services administrative completeness of of farmer groups in the Sub-district of North Tabukan, Sangihe Islands District. The study lasted for 3 (three) months starting from January 1 to April 1 in 2016. Sampling method on two farmer groups in Tabukan North Sub-district done by purposive sampling. The first farmers group office located in Talolang Village near to the office of BP3K and the second farmer group located in Lenganeng Village far from BP3K. The asumption of this research is the farmer group near BP3K office more easily and quickly to obtain information from the agriculture extension service officer, than the farmer groups away from BP3K office. Data collection method in this study is survey method. The data used are primary data obtained from interviews, based on a list of questions, with the core committee Farmers Group (Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer). The analysis method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis using criteria 1 (No Good), 2 (less good), 3 (Good). Data generated to determine the completeness of the administrative and financial administration at the farmer groups. The results of the study on two groups of farmers which Farmers Group Sengkanaung in Talolang Village and farmer groups Lestari 2 in Lenganeng Village shows that administrative of activities and financial administration of farmer groups Lestari 2 Lenganeng all fittings administration books categorized good (3) because of the activity, together with the board members, and members of the extension of farmer groups in conducting all activities. Administrative and financial administration in farmer groups Sengkanaung in Talolang Village not go well and not considered either (1) because there is no cooperation among the members of farmer groups, as well as between members of the farmer group with the agricultural extension services officer, as well as lack of knowledge and lack of guidance and advocacy for farmers' groups about the completeness of the administrative and financial administration. This conclude that the distance of location between farmer group office and the office of BP3K tend not affect the completeness of the administrative and financial work.
