ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe things as follows. First, describes the skills of reading appreciative grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. Second, it describes the writing skills text cerpen grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. Third, explain the relationship between the reading appreciative with writing skill text cerpen grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. This type of research correlation between appreciative reading skills and writing skills text cerpen of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Based on the reslt of the study, the following three things concluded. First, the appreciative reading skills of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang are in good qualification (81,32). Second, the writing skills text cerpen on grade XI Senior High school 2 Padang are in good qalification (82.24). Third, there is a significant correlation between appreciative reading skills and writing skills text cerpen of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang at n-1 degress freedom and a sicnificant level of 95%. Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca apresiatif, menulis teks cerpen

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe things as follows. First, describes the reading skills in understanding of exposition textgrade VIIIJunior High School 34 Padang. Second, it describes the writing skills of expositon textgrade VIIIJunior High School 34 Padang. Third, explain the relationship between the reading skills in understanding of exposition text with writing skills of expositon textgrade VIIIJunior High School 34 Padang. This type of research correlation between the reading skills in understanding of exposition textwith writing skills of exposition text grade VIIIJunior High School 34 Padang is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Based on the reslt of the study, the following three things concluded. First, the reading skills in understanding of exposition text are in good qualification (77.56). Second, the writing skills of exposition  on grade VIIIJunior High school 34 Padang are in good qalification (77.64). Writing is one of the four skills studied in the Indonesian language lesson. Unfortunately, many students find that it is difficult to make a short story. Writing needs the media to pull out ideas when the students write the short stories. This study aims to investigate the usage of the newspaper clipping media to improve the students’ short story writing skills. The research method employed was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment design and the new version of SPSS data analysis. The research was conducted from April to May 2017 at SKB Sumbawa regency. The findings showed that (1) by using the newspaper clipping media, there was a significant improvement of the package C (equal to Senior High School Level) students’ short story writing skills in SKB Sumbawa regency, (2) there was an increase of the post-test result to 80% (Good), (3) the result of t-test was 13.253>1ttable=2.021 which meant that there was a significant correlation of using the newspaper clipping media (x1) to the short story writing skill (x2). Based on the research the result, it is suggested that (1) it is important to use the newspaper clipping media in the writing lesson, (2) a joyful learning should use a media and (3) the usage of the newspaper clipping media is strongly recommended to improve the package C (equal to Senior High School Level) students’ short story writing skill.   References Arsyad, A. Writing is the most important skill in learning a language. Through writing is a way to express student’s ideas, but most students are still deeply mistaken in spelling, grammar, vocabulary and also punctuation. The one way to fix it is to give the students solution with a tool that can help and guide to show their mistake. This research aim of improving students writing skills using Grammarly application. By using Grammarly students are guided to find out students' errors and how to fix it and improve their writing skills using Grammarly application, especially in second grade in senior high school. This research used a qualitative method through pre-test and posttest. The subject of this research is consists of 32 students in second grade in senior high school. The research finding that’s after using Grammarly application can improve student’s ability in writing and express what their thought and felt. It suggested that students should be confident in conveying their ideas into written form as well as maximizing this Grammarly application to help them find errors in writing and can find the correct one. It is recommended that teachers give more serious attention errors of students in writing because of solving. Keywords:  Writing Skill, Grammarly Application

This study analyzed the proportion of language skills in English textbook using descriptive quantitative method. This study aimed to find out the proportion of language skills in English textbook grade XI published by Kemendikbud 2014, and to find out the suitability of language skills in English textbook grade XI published by Kemendikbud 2014 and the goal of English subject's syllabus for Senior High School. The object of this research was English textbook for grade XI (Senior High School) published by Kemendikbud 2014 (1st and 2nd semester). The instrument used was evaluation checklist to collect the data about the proportion of language skills. The result showed that the textbook focuses more on writing skills (35%), grammar (32%), speaking (25%), reading (7%), and listening had the lowest proportion of (1%). The result of the evaluation showed that this textbook represent the writing skill that integrated with other skills. This textbook has the appropriate proportion on  two  skills (writing and speaking) however, it has inappropriate proportion on other two skills (listening and reading).

<p>Abstract: This experimental study aims to determine the effects of teaching media and learning interest on students' writing skills in recount text. The sample of the research is 80 respondents. The technique of collecting data of each variable was acquired from the test. The data were analyzed using a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA 2x2). The research shows that: 1) there is a significant effect of teaching media towards students writing skills in recount text at State Senior High School in Pandeglang Regency. It is proved by the value Sig 0,000 &lt; 0,05 and Fo = 87,444; 2) there is a significant effect of learning interest towards students writing skill in recount text at State Senior High School in Pandeglang Regency. It is proved by the value Sig 0, 000 &lt; 0,05 and Fo = 46,751; 3) there are no significant interactive effects of teaching media and learning interest towards students' writing skills in recount text at state senior high school in Pandeglang Regency. It is proved by the value Sig 0,05 or 0,380 &gt; 0,05 and Fo = 0,778.<br />Keywords: teaching media, learning interest, writing skills, recount text.</p>

This research to see students’ attitude toward in physics learning, student motivation in physics learning, discipline student in physics learning, and the relationship between students’ motivation and attitudes toward physics subject. Using correlational quantitative research with correlational design, the subjects of the study were students of 612 students in senior high school Batanghari and Muaro Jambi district Provence Jambi, Indonesia. Instruments research is questionnaires attitude, motivation, and discipline. Analytical techniques are using descriptive statistics and inferential. The results the three indicators of student attitudes show good results, and for motivation and discipline students also show good results, with these results, there is a relationship between attitudes, motivation, and student discipline. Recommendation, therefore, it is very important for teachers to implement learning that fosters attitudes, motivation, and discipline of students in learning. <p><strong>Abstract</strong>: The research was performed in 9th-grade students of three (3) Private Junior High Schools in South Tangerang City. The method is an explanatory survey with quantitative research through the descriptive method, a method designed to determine if two or more variables are connected. The hypothesis test showed: 1) There are significant effects of vocabulary and grammar mastery jointly towards students’ writing skill in recount text at Private Junior High School in South Tangerang City. It is proved by the Sig = 0.000 &lt; 0.005 and Fo = 57.783. The increasing vocabulary mastery contributes 0.395, and grammar mastery contributes to the contribution 0.240 towards writing skill in recount text. 2) There is a significant effect of vocabulary mastery towards students’ writing skills in recount text at Private Junior High School in South Tangerang City. It is proved by Sig = 0.000 &lt; 0.005 and to 5.169. 3) There is a significant effect of grammar mastery towards students’ writing skills in recount text at Private Junior High School in South Tangerang City. Boarding school is one form of school in Indonesia that implements a full-day learning system. The student study schedule is very tight because students study for 9 to 10 hours in one day. This condition causes students to have difficulty achieving academic flow in the learning process. This research aimed to examine the relationship between Student Engagement with Academic Flow to Students Islamic Andalusia Senior High School Boarding in Kebasen, Banyumas, Indonesia. The analysis uses quantitative research methods. The total samples in this research were 127 students. Sampling in this study using a technique stratified proportionate random sampling as 20% of the total population. Samples in class X were 56 students, class XI were 41 students, and then class XII was 30 students. The data collection techniques used are psychological scales of variable student engagement (45 items) and academic flow (36 items). Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 25.0 for Windows Program. The result showed the relationship between student engagement with academic flow to students Islamic Andalusia senior high school boarding in Kebasen, Banyumas, Indonesia had a correlation of 0,728 and a significance level of 0,000. The result of data analysis showed that there was a positive relationship and a high significance between student engagement with the academic flow.

The aim of this study is to use mind mapping to improve students' writing skills on Analytical Exposition Text. Classroom Action Research was used as the method, which consists of two cycles divided into four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The instruments used to collect data include a questionnaire, a test, and an observation checklist. The Mind mapping technique was found to be effective in improving the writing skills of SMA AL-MIFTAH Palengaan- Pamekasan students in XI grade Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris on Analytical exposition text. The research found an improvement in the students' writing ability in the second cycle. The students' writing ability scores who achieved the standard achievement/KKM were 26 students, indicating that 87 percent of the students reached the target, and most of the students achieved more than the target of success criteria.
