The study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan, and (2) the social function of local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan. The source of this research data is story about local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alam Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore the main character of local legend Batu Bangkai  is a rebellious child, slot of the story is conventional slot, the story happened in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan,  the language told by informant with understoodable language, the massage of the story is to be honest, to help each other, and never give up, and (2) social function of the local legend Batu Bangkai are for entertain, education, and cultural preservation. Keywords: folklore, structure, social function

The study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Awang Tikuluak in Kanagarian Sungai Sariak Sub-district VII Koto District Padang Pariaman, and (2) the social function of local legend Awang Tikuluak in Kanagarian Sungai Sariak Sub-district VII Koto District Padang Pariaman. The source of this research data is story about local legend Awang Tikuluak in Kanagarian Sungai Sariak Sub-district VII Koto District Padang Pariaman. There are four stages to analyze the data. First, data inventory, Second, data classification. Third, conclude the data classification result. Fourth, write the research report. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore of local legend Awang Tikuluak told by informant with local language, the main character is Saleha, and theme of the story is about rebellious child, and (2) social function of the local legend Awang Tikuluak are for education, cultural preservation, and group identity.Keywords: folklore, structure, social function

 This study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency, and (2) the social function of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. The source of this research data is story about local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. There are two stages to collect the data. First, doing interview with informant and record it. Then, transcribe the recordings. Second, collecting data about informant environment. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave told by informant with understoodable language, have ten character, the story’s background is in Nagari Salayo, and theme of the story is about Datuak Parpatiah’s body contested, and (2) social function of the local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave are for entertain, education, cultural preservation, and group identity. Keywords: folklore, structure, social function, local legend

<p><em>Hindu people always hold the teachings of  Tri Hita karana, is three sources that have been happening s a human relationship with Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa called Parhyangan. human relationships with humans called Pawongan and human relationships with the so-called natural world Palemahan. the use of kings in Piodalan ceremony at Pura Desa, Desa Tinggarsari is one form of implementation of the teachings of  Tri hita Karana as a form sraddha and bhakti. niskala to prosperous nature from the influence of bhuta kala. the use of the field is carried out on the fifth full moon, which begins with the tradition of meboros to the forest to get a court. The results of the research obtained are as follows: (1) the procession of the use of the congregation in the ceremony of  Piodalan in Pura Desa, begins with the meboros tradition to the forest to get the deer, from preparation meboros to get a court for ceremonial facilities, and melasti carried out stream flow, 2) the function of the use of yakti religious function to increase sraddha and bhakti to god, the social function of strengthening the cord between all societies and the function of cultural preservation is to be able to preserve the use of the congregation that has long been a tradition. (3) the meaning of the use of the congregation is a form of respect for the god, as well as the importance of maintaining harmony and balance of nature and environment to achieve the welfare and prosperity of this universe.</em><strong><em></em></strong></p>

This research is aimed to describe: (1) the structure of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam; and (2) the social function of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam. This sort of research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. This research data is structure and social function of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam. Data is collected from informants through two stages, that is (1) recording folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah, and (2) data collection about storytelling environment. The data were analyzed by the steps of: (1) a data inventory phase; (2) classification of data; (3) the stage of discussion or conclusion from data classification results; and (4) the stage of reporting. Based on the research, was found the following statements. (1) The structure of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam including: (a) language style; (b) characterization; (c) background; (d) storyline; (e) theme; and (f) mandate. <p><em>Lontar Calonarang's literary works is a work of art. Calonarang term other than as one of the works of literature, Calonarang also means characterization</em><em> </em><em>or the name of a man in the play known as Rangda ing Girah. Calonarang is also known as art form such as wayang pacalonarangan and in staging pacalonarangan dance drama. Lontar Calonarang is a lontar manuscript that specifically tells about Calonarang revenge using black magic against the people in Girah village. This is because the people in the village of Girah no one wants to marry Calonarang child is Ratna Manggali. Lontar Calonarang literary work is interesting to read and researched because this literary work has a philosophical meaning of construct so easy to be understood in depth. </em></p><p><em>The results that can be obtained from this literary work are Teachings contained in lontar Calonarang include Rwa Bhineda, Catur Asrama, and Tantra. The function of the teachings contained in the Calonarang lontar is the religious function, the social function, and the function of cultural preservation. While the philosophical meaning derived from this literary work is the meaning of balance, meaning of education, and the meaning of divinity.</em><strong><em></em></strong></p>

  Abstract The sociopragmatic study is one that can explore the reflection of local wisdom that can be learned by the Javanese and even nationally. This research data is working from the Short Film - Tilik (2018) by focusing on the main character who is also the antagonist, Bu Tejo. Performed with an image of cynical Javanese mothers, it is good to see how the strategy is used and what are the motivations rely upon behind the utterances. Analysis of the study of speech act of criticism strategies can be used to hone of forms this characters often use. To conduct this research, the method used is transcribing all dialogues that are focused on only Bu Tejo's dialogue. There were 81 strategies of critical speech acts classified based on the form of direct criticism speech acts and indirect criticism speech acts. Direct speech acts criticism includes negative evaluation strategies, disapproval, expressions of disagreement, identify of problems, statements of difficulty and consequences. Meanwhile, the strategy of indirect speech acts criticism are corrections, identifying standards, demanding for change, request for change, suggestions of change, expressions of certainty and asking/presupposing. In examining the narrative using these strategies, it is also discovered the social motive implied by the main character of this antagonist through his critical utterances. This study aims to describe: (1) the traditional question structure of the community in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Subdistrict, Tarusan, South Pesisir Regency: (2) the category of traditional questions of the community in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Subdistrict, Tarusan, South Pesisir Regency: (3) Community Social Functions in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang Koto XI Subdistrict Tarusan South Pesisir Regency. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. This research data is a traditional question of the community in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Sub-District, Tarusan, South Pesisir Regency. Data were collected from informants through interview techniques, observation and recording of interviews with informants. Based on the results of the study found the following: (1) the structure of traditional community questions in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Subdistrict Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan Regency consists of: (a) traditional questions that are contradictory, and (b) traditional questions that do not contradict: (2 ) category of traditional community questions in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang Koto XI Subdistrict Tarusan Pesisir Selatan Regency consists of: (a) similarities with living things, (b) similarities with animals, (c) similarities with some animals, (d) similarities with humans, (e) similarities with some people, (f) similarities with plants, (g) equality with objects, (h) equation with parables, (i) equation with form and function, (j) equation with matter, and (k) equation with actions: (3) the social function of the traditional question of the Community in Kenagarian Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Sub-district Tarusan, South Pesisir Regency consists of: (a) testing the intelligence of others, and (b) amuse.Keywords: Structure, Category, Social Function

  Karya sastra diciptakan selain untuk memberikan hiburan atau kesenangan, juga menjadi sarana penanaman nilai moral. Keberadaan nilai moral dalam sastra diharapkan mampu memunculkan nilainilai positif bagi pembaca, sehingga mereka peka terhadap masalah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sosial dan mendorong untuk berperilaku baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis nilai-nilai moral dalam kajian sosial budaya tokoh utama pada novel Satin Merah karya Brahmanto Anindito dan Rie Yanti. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan.. Data penelitian ini berupa novel yang berjudul Satin Merah karya Brahmanto Anindito dan Rie Yanti. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil data secara keseluruhan, peneliti menemukan empat macam moral yakni, (1) moral murni dalam nasehat sosial pada tokoh utama; (2) moral terapan dalam pendidikan padah tokoh utama; (3) moral terapan dalam nasehat pendidikan pada tokoh utama; dan (4) moral terapan dalam pendidikan pada tokoh utama.Kata kunci: moral, novel, Satin Merah Moral Values in Main Characters in Satin Merin Novel Brahmanto Anindito and Rie YantiLiterary works collected in addition to providing entertainment or pleasure, also become a means of obtaining moral values. Moral added value in literature is expected to be able to bring up positive benefits for readers so that they are sensitive to problems related to social life and encourage good behavior. This study aims to analyze moral values in the social studies of the main characters in the Satin Merah novel by Brahmanto Anindito and Rie Yanti. This research is a type of library research. The research data are in the form of a novel entitled Satin Merah by Brahmanto Anindito and Rie Yanti. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. Based on the overall data results, the researcher found four types of morals namely, (1) pure morals in social advice to the main character; (2) applied morals in education of the main characters; (3) used morals in educational information to the main character; and (4) applied morals in knowledge of the main character.Keywords: moral, novel, Satin Merah

This study aimed to describe: (1) the structure of folklore in local legend Pincuran Tujuah in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Village Kapalo Koto Kecamatan Payakumbuah Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, (2) social function of Folklore Legend Pincuran Tujuah. The type of research was qualitative research used descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and recording of interviews with informants in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Kapalo Koto Village Payakumbuah Subdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota District. Based on the result of research, it is concluded the following things. First, Folklore Structure Legend Locally Pincuran Tujuah includes: (a) Characterization, consists of four characters, namely the main character and sideline. The main character is emak Gendong known as the person who has a patient and hard heart and while the side character is two children emak Gendong and neighbors who have a sense of jealousy to emak Gendong (b) Plot, the plot of legend Pincuran Tujuah is conventional groove, because a sequential event through regular causal relationships from the introduction of background, the main character, the entry into conflicts, and the ending of the story. (c) Background, this research is carried out in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Kapalo Koto Village Payakumbuah Subdistrict of Lima Puluh Kota Regency, and also there are also (d) Style of Language and (e) Less point of view is depicted in this legend story. This research deals with the development of  self concept of Hiroko as the main character in Namaku Hiroko by Nh. Dini and tries to identify how Hiroko is portrayed in the story, how she interacts with other characters and whether she is portrayed as a character dominated by ”I” element or  ”Me”  element seen  from sociological and cultural point of view. As a qualitative research in nature, the source of data in this research is the novel Namaku Hiroko (1967) and the data ara analyzed and presented deductively. The result of this analysis shows that in the novel, Hiroko as a fictional character is  portrayed as a girl whose personality  develops and changes drastically from ”Me”  to ”I”. When she was still in the village  l iving with her parents, she was portrayed as a obedient girl who was loyal to the parents, polite and acted in accordance with the social customs. In short, her personality was dominated by ”Me”  self concept. On the other hand, when she moved to the city (Kyoto), she was portrayed as a wild girl  no longer controlled by the social customs. She was  firm and determined totake decisions of  her won  for her future without considering what other people would say about her. She did not want to be treated as object. To put it in another way, her personality is more dominated by the ”I” self concept.
