This study aims to design a model in achieving superior performance of MSMEs. The mixed strategic orientations of demography, economy and cultural values are used to design this model. The mixed strategic orientations consist of customer, competitor and innovation orientations. Demographic variables consist of age, experience and education. Economic variables consist of government, price, income and growth. Cultural value variables consist of Javanese, Chinese and Padang cultural values. Customer orientation variables have an antecedent variable that consist of entrepreneurship, reward and learning. The change orientation variable moderates the customer and competitor orientations to the innovation orientation. Variable of competitive advantage mediates customer and competitor orientations on MSMEs’ performance. The population of this study consists of food MSMEs in Central Java. The 750 samples are chosen with convenient sampling technique. Data analysis mrthod used the Cross-tab Analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result of this research is a model explaining that demography, economy and cultural values influence antecedent variables of customer orientation, dimension of strategic orientations and organizational performance. The antecedent variables affect customer orientation; the dimension of strategic orientations affects performance; Variable of change of capacity unmoderates customer and competitor orientations on innovation orientation. Variable of competitive advantage unmediates customer, innovation and competitor orientations on performance. An abstract should accompany each manuscript; it should be completely self-consistent (i.e., with no figure, table, equation or reference citations), not exceeding 250 words and written as a single paragraph.

Business competition in the current era of globalization requires companies to have a strategy to win the market. Strategic management has an important role for the survival of the company. The existence of such competition is also felt by small businesses such as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The increase in the number of SME units in Central Java was not followed by an increase in average sales of SMEs. This study aims to analyze the effect of distribution channel, ERP implementation and entrepreneurial orientation on marketing performance with competitive advantage as an intervening variable. The population in this study were small and medium enterprises owners in Central Java. Six hypothesis were formulated for this study. To test those hypothesis, this study used 104 respondent. Structural Equation Model (SEM) was applied to this study using AMOS 24  as a tool. The results of this study shows that competitive advantage is the most variable in influencing the marketing performance, while this  competititve advantage has entrepreneurial orientation as highest variable in influencing it. This study suggests that if SMEs want to increase their marketing performance, they must increase  their competitive advantage. This competitive advantage can be increase by increasing the entrepreneurial orientation.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of the co-alignment of structural variables on innovation, wherein Bogotá-based SMEs, belonging to the industrial, commercial and services sectors, were used as samples. Design/methodology/approach The study was conducted using a causal inference methodology and through the application of a structural equation model. Findings The results indicate that organizational structure has an influence on innovation, although this is true only for some variables and only when the analysis is performed separately. When performed under strategic co-alignment conditions, however, its influence becomes greater. Originality/value Organizational structure and innovation are determining factors of organizational performance. Although the strategic co-alignment theory has provided points of reference to understanding the phenomenon of organizational performance, there are still many gaps left to be filled. Additionally, it also requires empirical validation especially in relation to Colombian SMEs – and this is where this work makes a contribution.

New Public Management posed challenges to governments by emphasizing the flexibility of workforce, innovation, and the role of supervisors in running public sector organizations. However, there is debate over whether job insecurity and organizational innovativeness contribute to organizational performance in the public sector. Furthermore, despite the growing awareness of the importance of supervisors, the issue of public sector employees’ trust in their supervisors has received relatively little attention. The purpose of this article is to examine the impacts of job insecurity, innovation, and employees’ trust in supervisors on organizational performance in order to explain these inconsistencies and fill the void in past research. It develops a structural equation model, built on two sets of Korean public employee survey data, whose results show that job insecurity is negatively related to performance, while employees’ trust in supervisors and organizational innovativeness are positively associated with performance. In addition, employees’ trust in supervisor is positively related to innovativeness.
